General dentists can perform endodontic procedures along with other procedures but often they refer patients needing endodontic treatment to endodontists. Endodontists are dentists with special training in endodontic procedures.

Post-Op Instructions
Report
It is normal for a treated tooth to be sensitive, especially to biting and pressure for about one week following root canal therapy. Additionally, it may continue to feel different from the surrounding teeth for several weeks. Whenever possible, please avoid chewing hard foods or biting strongly on the treated tooth during the healing phase.
