We are Spanish Hills Dentistry, a boutique dental practice in Camarillo, California, and part of the established Carson and Acasio Dental Group owned by partners Dr. Derek Carson and Dr. Mike Acasio. Across our affiliated practices, we have provided dental services to Ventura County patients for more than 50 total years of combined operational history. Our practice lineage traces back to 1972, when Ventura dentist Dr. LeRoy Carson founded the original Carson & Carson DDS practice. Dr. Derek Carson joined his fathers practice in 2004, and Dr. Mike Acasio became a partner in 2022, at which point the practice was renamed to reflect our ownership group. We acquired Spanish Hills Dentistry a few years ago to expand our ability to serve Camarillo-area patients with our proven care model. We are deeply proud of the long-standing reputation for quality care that we have built in the local community over decades of service. A large number of our clinical and administrative staff have been part of our team for years, ensuring consistent, familiar care for every patient.
We have the advanced skills, modern technology, and in-house lab capabilities to address nearly every patient need, from routine checkups and fillings to full-arch All-on-X implant restorations. Our in-house Oxnard dental lab allows us to fabricate same-day crowns for patients, eliminating long wait times for permanent restorations without compromising on quality. Our Camarillo location is designed as a boutique practice, with a comfortable, low-stress atmosphere and a focus on personalized attention from every team member. His is the first time I have ever had drilling on my teeth with NO pain whatsoever! Dr Derek was even able to numb me without pain-you know how normally it feels like they're injecting you in your nose! Ha ha Ha I went here with my new insurance because I needed some things replaced in my mouth and I could not be happier! I highly recommend either office, I have been to both Camarillo and Oxnard and the staff at both amazing! I never thought I would say this about a dentist but I can't wait to go back and see what's next for me!

Best place to possibly go! Literally so kind and caring! Cost is always fair and they are always willing to work with you on any concerns! Please check them out for your next dentist appointment because Dr. Carson and the receptionist Diane are the best!

Of course this past weekend I had a dental emergency and I was afraid I was going to have to wait till Monday before I could get my crown fixed. After doing some research I found Dr. Carson who has an answering service for weekend emergencies! I called the service and received a call back within an hour to meet him and his assistant at the office to fix my crown! I WAS SHOCKED! I can't even begin to express how much sensitivity I was experiencing with my crown off and I wasn't sure I would be able to go another day. They charge an emergency fee for after hours but it is worth EVERY PENNY! Thank you Dr. Carson and Diane! You have a patient for life!

I literally never give online reviews but I had to make an exception in this case because this place is literally SO amazing! Nobody ever likes going to the dentist but this is the one time that I actually don't cringe and make excuses not to go, because the care I get here is so phenomenal. I love the receptionist because she's always warm and inviting and she tells you before your visit how much it will cost and what's covered by my insurance, which is such a big deal to me.
The staff are always nice and the most important thing is that they are very considerate with your level of comfort. Dr. Carson is very kind and a great dentist who is also very observant and considerate. I had a very sore/sensitive tooth one time and he could tell when I was in pain and needed more numbing medicine. Every dentist I've gone to before will never notice if I'm feeling pain or sensitivity or they don't care but Dr. Carson definitely did! If your looking for a good dental office I highly recommend going here! (Oh yeah even SIX MONTHS later they still take note and remember which tv station you prefer to watch during your visit!)
