We, as an orthodontic practice, are primarily in the business of self-esteem as well as beautiful smiles. We strive to provide patients with "something extra." In the course of an orthodontic practice, it is hard to easily describe all of the treatments that are provided as each patient has their own individual treatment plan. Hopefully, we can break things down into general categories that will help you to understand the treatments. First, we provide interceptive orthodontic treatments to patients between the ages of 7 and 10 years old.

Today is the first step on your journey to a beautiful smile! We are thrilled to have you as part of our patient family! We promise to take great care of you. It is important that you understand that the success and length of your treatment is partially dependant on your cooperation. Here is some important information for you to know in order to take care of your new "hardware".

Expander Care

If you cannot find the hole, have your child brush the expander with a toothbrush to remove debris. If you still can't find it, you may not have completed your previous turn. Complete the turn at the back of the mouth and the new hole will appear at the front. Take Advil or Tylenol regularly for the next few days because there may be some pressure as the expander begins to work.

Retainer Care

To keep your retainers clean, brush them with a toothbrush and toothpaste each time you brush. The retainers get a plaque build-up and odor if they are not kept clean. At least rinse retainers off after each meal. For special care you can use Retainer Brite (sample and order form provided) or a denture cleanser such as Efferdent, or soak it in a mouthwash and water mixture. This will give it a fresh taste. A protective case is provided for you. Always keep retainers in its protective case when its not in your mouth.
