Violet Orthrodotics

Violet Orthodontics is the orthodontic practice of Dr. Violet Barbosa. Dr. Violet's clinical experience combined with a caring staff ensures thorough, comfortable and results-oriented treatment for patients of any age, from children and teens to adults. Dr. Violet comes from a long lineage of doctors who are serving people around the world. She continues that strong family mission of helping people through the art and science of orthodontics. She practiced and taught orthodontics in Goa, India before moving to the U.S. Because of her passion for orthodontics, she went back to dental school at New York University College of Dentistry and earned her DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery).

Crossbite or underbite are when lower jaw/lower teeth are outside the upper jaw/ upper teeth. Prior to placing dental crowns or implants consider orthodontic treatment first so that missing teeth can be replaced conservatively and cost effectively. Most orthodontic treatment begins between ages 8-12. Although your child's teeth may appear to be straight, Dr. Violet is able to detect subtle problems with jaw growth and how permanent teeth are coming in, even when baby teeth are present. This is important because there are some orthodontic problems that are easier to correct at an early age.
