The Lactation Department offers prenatal and postpartum appointments for breastfeeding families. Pediatric Care North follows the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines on preventative health care for children from birth to 21 years of age. We offer urgent care visits throughout the day and make every effort to see your child the same day that you call for an ill visit.

Dr. Susan Storm is a native of the Northland. She graduated Valedictorian from Oak Park High School in 1979. She attended the 6-year B.A./M.D. program at UMKC School of Medicine, graduating in 1985. After completing her pediatric residency at Children's Mercy Hospital in 1988, she became an assistant professor at UMKC and an attending physician at Children's Mercy Pediatric Care Center. She is very proud to have established the first pediatric practice in Platte County, now located on the Clay/Platte County line since 2006.

The Lactation Department offers prenatal and postpartum appointments for breastfeeding families. The program was developed in 1996, under the direction of Heather Lackey, RN, BSN, IBCLC. This was the first Pediatric Office in Kansas City, Missouri to offer the services of Board Certified Lactation Consultants.
