I wanted to be a dentist because my grandfather was a dentist. I grew up in a little town in Munster, Indiana, right outside of Chicago. He had a small dental office, general practice office kind, where you still pumped the handpiece, the drills, and he had all that kind of stuff going on. And I'd go with him on Saturdays, go to the treasure chest, which was the most awesome part of going to the dentist to me. It was always, to me, that was my path in life. We moved to West Virginia from Indiana when I was in third grade.

I wanted to be a physician for a long time, and decided in undergrad to. I grew up in a dental office. I was familiar with it. My mom never pushed me to be a dentist, so I never felt that pressure. She kind of let me decide my own path, but I was familiar with it, I was comfortable with it. It was something I started getting more involved in, working in the practice in late high school, all throughout college. And I just enjoyed doing it and enjoyed working with my hands, interacting with patients, with team members.

Well, I've been around the practice my whole life. I've just kind of watched you grow, and what she does, and what we can do to help people. It just attracted me to it. I went to Clemson and UK for undergrad, and then UK for dental school. In just a few years of being out, we've done hundreds of hours of education.
