We like to call our office Athens Smile Tree because it is our job to grow healthy smiles for our patients. At Athens Dentistry for Children, we strive to be as conservative as possible when restoring decayed teeth. By using the latest tooth bonding techniques, we are able to restore many teeth with natural looking white fillings - many times without local anesthetic (lidocaine). However, some situations may necessitate the use of silver-colored fillings or crowns.
Dr. Melissa Shaw

Dr. Melissa Shaw grew up here in Oconee County, and loves being back in her hometown and serving the children in this community. After graduating from Oconee County High School, Dr. Shaw attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, receiving her BA in Biology in 2002. She then studied dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia, receiving her DMD in 2007.
