Dental Implants
Dental implants provide permanent, natural-looking solutions for missing teeth. Our Knoxville practice offers single-tooth implants, All-on-Four systems, and implant-supported dentures. Dr. Cain's expertise ensures precise placement using 3D imaging for optimal integration with jawbone structure. Patients benefit from restored chewing function, facial aesthetics, and long-term oral health improvements through these titanium-root replacements that mimic natural tooth foundations.
LANAP
Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure treats advanced gum disease without cutting or sutures. This FDA-approved protocol uses precision laser technology to remove infected tissue while preserving healthy structures. Patients experience faster healing, reduced discomfort, and tissue regeneration through this minimally invasive alternative to traditional gum surgery, which we've successfully implemented for complex periodontal cases in Knoxville.
Gum Surgery
Osseous surgery and soft tissue grafting address severe gum recession and bone loss. Our techniques include pinhole gum rejuvenation for immediate aesthetic improvements and connective tissue grafts for long-term structural support. These procedures protect tooth roots, reduce sensitivity, and prevent further periodontal deterioration while enhancing smile appearance through tissue restoration.
Sedation Dentistry
IV sedation and oral conscious options make complex treatments accessible for anxious patients. Our certified providers carefully monitor vital signs while delivering customized sedation levels that ensure comfort without compromising safety. This approach enables comprehensive dental work in fewer visits while maintaining patient well-being throughout procedures ranging from implant placement to gum surgery.
Cosmetic Periodontics
Gummy smile correction and gum contouring enhance smile aesthetics through precise tissue reshaping. Using advanced laser technology, we address uneven gum lines and excess tissue to reveal optimal tooth proportions. These procedures improve self-confidence while maintaining periodontal health, often combined with restorative treatments for comprehensive smile transformations that balance form and function.

Questions
What makes LANAP different from traditional gum surgery?
LANAP uses precision laser technology to treat gum disease without cutting or sutures, resulting in less discomfort, faster healing, and tissue regeneration compared to traditional surgical methods.
Can dental implants replace multiple missing teeth?
Yes, we offer All-on-Four implant systems and multiple implant solutions that securely replace several missing teeth while restoring full chewing function and facial structure.
How does sedation dentistry work?
We offer IV sedation and oral conscious options that relax patients during treatment. Certified providers monitor vital signs throughout procedures to ensure comfort and safety for anxious individuals.
What causes receding gums?
Gum recession results from periodontal disease, aggressive brushing, or natural aging processes. We treat this through soft tissue grafting or pinhole techniques to restore gum coverage and reduce sensitivity.
How often should I see a periodontist for gum disease?
For active gum disease, we recommend maintenance visits every 3-4 months. Your personalized schedule will optimize periodontal health based on your specific condition and treatment progress.
What are the benefits of replacing missing teeth?
Replacing missing teeth prevents bone loss, maintains facial structure, improves chewing function, and reduces strain on remaining teeth while enhancing overall smile aesthetics.

Dr. Robert Cain and his Staff are wonderful! Very professional, knowledgeable, kind and caring. My dentist couldn't find anything wrong with my ongoing problem in my mouth and said that I should see a Periodontist thinking it was a gum issue. I saw that Dr. Cain had excellent reviews and made appointment. That was the BEST decision ever! He found the answer to the cause of my ongoing terrible itching in area of my gum. It's not a gum problem, but instead a tooth issue. I'm so very Thankful to Dr. Cain!
