Dr Michael Tai received his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree from Columbia University in New York City in May of 2001. He further trained as a general practice resident (GPR) at the Veteran's Affair Northern California in Sacramento where he refined his skills in complex extractions, implant placements, diffcult molar root canals and dental prosthesis.

During his first few years out of residency Dr. Tai he practiced as an associate dentist with the not-for-profit Health Trust Children's Mobile Dental Unit where he worked with disadvantaged children eventually being promoted to the Dental Clinic Director.
