Dr. Mendee Ligon grew up in Spartanburg, S.C. She attended college in Atlanta, Georgia at Spelman College and completed her B.S. degree at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C. She received her dental education at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee, receiving a Doctor of Dental surgery degree in 1979.

Dr. Brian Ligon received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in 2011. He continued his training at Bay Pines VA Hospital and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency.
