Dr. John C. Hening, a native of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, came to Colorado to attend Western Colorado University in Gunnison, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biology. He became interested in dental school during his junior year and went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Colorado in 1992 and spent the next four years serving as a dental officer in the US Navy Dental Corps in Arizona. After that, he made the move to Durango, CO, which he's called home for over 20 years.
