Our Office
Report
Dr. Dorothy was a true angel to our rescue when she came to office after 7:30pm and did a two hr surgery for us especially on a day when she had busy family events. She has also followed up with us diligently to make sure that our daughter recovers well. Our family are truly grateful for having Dr. Dorothy.
First Visit
Report
Many parents will call and ask when their child should first see the dentist. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a child's first visit to the dentist should be no later than 6 months after the eruption of the first tooth. This is a relatively new concept in dentistry, but research has shown that an ounce of prevention will help prevent a pound of problems. Much of the infant dental visit is geared toward discussing what the parent can anticipate from their child's oral growth and development.
Procedures
Report
These are the "fillings" which go into the teeth once all of the decay is removed or a traumatized tooth is repaired. They are tooth-colored and are bonded to the prepared tooth surface. Silver fillings, or amalgam fillings, are only very rarely used in our office on a case-by-case basis. Different materials have different strengths and weaknesses, and for the overwhelming majority of the time, the tooth-colored fillings will work fine.
