You can expect to have soreness, pain and/or discomfort, and throbbing with your tooth and around your gums after the root canal procedure. This is normal and can last from several days to several weeks. It is recommended that you take Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) 800 mg every 6-8 hours for approximately 3 days for postoperative discomfort.

Oral Cancer Awareness

At Lakewood Ranch Dental oral cancer evaluations are performed routinely at each semi-annual dental hygiene appointment. Your dentist will examine the oral tissues in and around your mouth, under your tongue, and in the back of your throat. Additionally, your dental hygienist is also evaluating and looking for any abnormalities or concerns.
