Because cavities know no age boundaries, we recommend that your child's first dental visit happen around their first birthday or soon after the first tooth erupts. Both the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics recognize early childhood cavities as a health problem affecting a significant number of children and recommend that a child see a dentist at one year of age or six months after the first tooth comes in.

Though born in Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Liu spent his childhood in Southern California. He attended Loma Linda Academy for high school, and then graduated from Loma Linda University in La Sierra, CA, with a BS degree in Biology.

Richard F. Stafford was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He and Dr. Liu have known and worked with each other since 1988 when Dr. Liu was on the faculty at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and Dr. Stafford was undergoing his dental anesthesia residency training.

Born in Staten Island, NY, Dr. Jack Hou grew up in Jackson, TN. Dr. Jack attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He completed dental school, graduating with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he was also inducted into the Omega Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
