We are one block from the MUNI West Portal station surrounded by plenty of on-street parking. Our office boasts spacious, private treatment rooms and views overlooking West Portal Avenue and into our Sycamore tree from one story above street level. For those who are mobility-impaired or wheelchair-bound, our building also has an elevator.
The majority of patient visits at West Portal Dental Care are preventative in nature, and with good reason. Routine, non-emergent care is the key to a long-lasting, healthy smile and is essential for good overall health. At home, good oral hygiene usually includes daily brushing and flossing, but it doesn't always end there.

We will always give you a treatment plan outlining every cost associated with each procedure at your first appointment and prior to starting any work. She is the best dentist I ever been too. I went to a dentist before her and they were really pushy and wanted to give me treatments that were unnecessary for the time being. Dr. Mathai is so talented at her job she has techniques that make the procedure painless. She communicates thought-out the whole thing and very intelligent in reading what needs to be done.
My husband and I live in nob hill but bc she is so good at what she does we travel to see her. Her calm demeanor and how she treats her staff shows that she hasn't been jaded to her job and cares about her patients. I would tip her if I could lol

West Portal Dental is a great place to go for your dental needs. No to mention Dr. Mathai, excellent dentist who took care of my dental work. I was amaze to see how she reconstructed my teeth, especially the front looked amazing, now I can smile again. Novocain shot was virtually painless! She is very patient and explained to me what she was doing step by step while working on my teeth. I love this clinic! Everyone there is fantastic and they all make you feel welcome. I highly recommended and will continue to recommend this clinic to friends and family.
