Our goal is to provide safe, state-of-the-art dental care in a friendly environment. We spend time educating our patients and their families to have a comfortable understanding of their care and actively participate in treatment decisions. Our conservative and multi-disciplinary approach often involves other specialists to provide optimum care.

Gentle dentistry - inhalation methods - is also available. Dr. Hollar is an experienced "Gentle Dentist" who is trained to administer inhalation (nitrous oxide and oxygen) sedation to patients who need a little help relaxing during their dental visit.

Laser Dentistry, as its name implies, uses lasers to remove or alter soft and hard tissues for different dental procedures. Dr. Hollar began using lasers in dentistry in the early 2000's and has owned and used a variety of lasers in dentistry for many years, from the very simplest of diode lasers to the much more complex and versatile erbium-yag lasers and CO2 based lasers.
Everyone should brush their teeth two to three times a day, preferably after every meal. However, if you can at least do it every morning and night, you are on the right track. In a family home, everyone has their typical morning and bedtime routine. If you can incorporate a healthy routine including teeth brushing, flossing, and an oral rinse in the morning and at night, the kids should get used to it.
Dr. Wayne Hollar DDS recommends you bring them in as soon as you see that first tooth starting to emerge or by their first birthday. A child who has never been to the dentist before will be unsure of our intentions, and there are things we can recommend when preparing them for their first visit. Even though baby teeth will fall out and adult teeth will replace them, they still need to be tended to as adult teeth via flossing, brushing, and oral rinses.Sealants are a preventative procedure. Sealants are much like flowing "super glue" into the grooves of back teeth.
Any tooth can be extracted for different reasons. Common reasons for tooth extraction consist of trauma or decay, crowded teeth, infection, compromised immune system, gum disease, and problematic wisdom teeth. Dr. Wayne Hollar, DDS, will perform a simple removal if the tooth is visible. In this case, we administer a local anesthetic and then loosen and remove the tooth.

Was looking for a new dentist for the Lenoir area. Called to make an appointment and the office personnel was really nice. The day before my appointment I was contacted and told their was a need to reschedule that an emergency had came up. I rescheduled. I understand things happen. Well received another phone call on Friday for my appointment the following Monday stating they needed to reschedule my appointment again.

I call and leave a voicemail Friday. I hear nothing back so I call again around lunch the Monday of my appointment asking to speak to someone to get more information as to what is going on. I was told since they couldn't get ahold of me Friday which they called me right before they closed they canceled my appointment. The office manager I spoke with was very unprofessional nor could see a problem with this logic.

Did not have a good experience being a patient here. Never felt welcomed and were extremely uncooperative and rude when my reimbursement check for my insurance got involved. I am now a patient somewhere else.

Dr. Hollar was recommended by a family member. My fist visit with him was a good one. I had just moved from Florida here to NC and had spent a great deal of money on dental work before moving. On my first visit to Dr. Hollar her found that one of my Dentists in FL had left a piece of cotton under the one of my new crowns. He was able to save the crown and remove the cotton. I appreciate the fact that he was honest and his price was good. His office staff is friendly and qualified as well as making sure that I was happy with my visit.

I live with a multitude of mental and emotional disorders. When I called to try and make an appointment, I was told the doctor was unwilling to work with my disabilities. These people only care about the insurance money, not what the patient needs. Do not support this doctor.

Dr. Hollar is wonderful I love him as my dentist! He would get a five star rating but Dr. Bishop is the reason I give 4 stars. He is just rushed and a lot rough for me! His helper was wonderful and Kind as all the ladies working there are! I have seen Dr. Hollar many times and even take my kids to him! But for me I will not have teeth pulled by Dr. Bishop again maybe it's just me. Maybe he was rushed since he was only in the office today! He was a sweet man but a rough dentist!

I am always treated as if I am the only patient they have - from the front desk to the hygienist to the exam by Dr. Hollar. I would definitely recommend this practice for any one seeking a dentist.

Dr. Wayne Hollar and his staff are absolutely amazing! They are kind, courteous, and genuinely care about their patients. They explained my procedure perfectly and answered every one of my questions. Dr. Hollar performed my procedure without any pain, in a timely manner, and smiled the whole way through. Thanks Dr. Hollar!
