University Dental Professionals team are by far the best services I've had in my years of dental care. Dr. Ruof and her team are incredibly friendly and informative. It's nice to get compliments on my smile.

Great place to take our daughter. They are super friendly and professional and don't force or scare her. She's only 6 and has a huge dentist phobia but they make her comfortable and able to work on her. Highly recommend taking their children there, Celia is the best hygienist and is very patient and knowledgeable.

I have been using UDP for over 20 years and it is the highest quality dental care I have ever had. The dentistry is just the best there is and even the hygienists are meticulous and thorough. It is probably not the least expensive dental office, but in the long run better dental work eventually means less dental work.

I have been going to UDP for 20+ years. I never had an emergency issue before but the one time I did they made no effort to accommodate me. I have a PPO and they only had some one out of network avsilable. They had an option of 2 weeks out and another option 5 weeks out for someone in network. I was also told that I needed an expensive procedure done but after going to my son's dentist found out I needed a filling.

It was ok, I can't give it 5 stars as it was a consultation. The dentist seemed nice very informal and she reassured me I would be in good hands she was just a little late to our appointment as she has another client that took her over by a few. But it was ok

The staff was friendly and informative. My procedures were explained to me. I was given several options to consider and my opinions were taken seriously. I had an insurance issue and they were very understanding and explained the steps to take to reconcile the issue.

I have made it here in UDP for my first time experience to go the dentist. Great service and better than expected. I felt quite nervous before going there, however, I calmed down quickly and relaxed in the office. Great team and nice environment! Many thanks!

Dr. Laura Ruof has an incredibly pleasant demeanor and goes to great length to make her patients feel comfortable. Moreover, she is an exacting clinician with high standards of care and an uncompromising commitment to the best treatment plans for her patients. I wholeheartedly would recommend Dr. Laura as a genuine, compassionate and talented practitioner and grateful that she is the steward of my dental care. You too will be in great hands. the office is very clean and the staff are pleasant.

Dr. Gargi examined my daughter on the same day I called about a traumatic mouth injury. She treated her with extreme care and kindness, and Dr. Gargi took her time in thoroughly examining her injury without making her uncomfortable. She reassured us at every step and made herself available for any of our questions or concerns after our appointment. The best in patient service!

I previously posted a negative review about the poor dental cleaning that I received. However, after contacting UDP, they resolved my problem immediately. They took my concerns seriously and responded with excellent care. I think the one poor visit was a fluke and definitely not representative of the customer service you can expect from UDP.

UDP is an excellent dental office. From the front desk staff to the dental assistant and Dentists they run a class act. I feel confident they can help me regain my smile as needed. And Doc Amaro is one of the coolest Doctors I've ever been treated by.

This was the worst dental cleaning experience I've ever had. This is unfortunate because my dentist Dr. Graham is great, but his hygienist is completely unqualified - poor training and lack of experience.i felt insecure in her care.

Both my husband and I started going to University Dental Professionals this year. Thus far, we've had a great experience. They did a stellar job on my cleaning and were super friendly, and were equally great with my husband's cleaning and cavity filling. I even got some good tips on improving my flossing technique from the dental technician. Looking forward to having them as our dentist while we are in Hyde Park!

My husband and I started going to University Dental Professionals when we moved to Chicago last year. The staff are friendly and professional, and we really liked the dentist and hygienist. Unfortunately however, we will not be returning due to their policy of payment of front, and waiting to be reimbursed by your insurance company later. Though we were uncomfortable with this, the first couple of visits went fine as their staff assisted us with filing for reimbursement through out insurance company.

After our last visit however, we realized they never submitted our paperwork, and we were forced to go back and forth between the office and our insurance to figure out what the issue may be (the office said they sent the paperwork while the insurance company indicated that it was never received). I had to end up handling everything myself in order to be reimbursed months later.

We felt that because of the office had received their payment up front, we were left to figure out things for ourselves in order to be reimbursed the hundreds of dollars we were out. The high level of customer service we expected, was not there and we felt that they could care less. Now, the practice may reply by saying due to COVID, their response time was slower than usual. However, our disappointed does not come from a slow response time (as we are reasonable individuals and understand that things did change due to the pandemic), but from the response we received. We also were never contacted directly by the dentist regarding this issue, even though we left several messages.

Hello, we think we experienced dishonesty (or even fraud, if I can define this way) at the University Dental Professionals (5549 South Cornell Avenue, Chicago, IL 60637). And here is what happened: My husband I received dental services at the University Dental Professionals on 06-30-20, for the common checking and cleaning. We moved to Chicago recently, and both of us were first-time customers at the University Dental Professionals.

We were not experts at digesting the dental insurance we had, so before making the dental appointment, we checked at least twice with the front desk lady (Kim?) to make sure our dental insurance plan would cover everything. The front desk lady gave us positive answer, and indicated only additional $25 per person charge for PPE. Then, we made the appointment, and the lady asked for the information on our Insurance card, including the company phone number, card number, etc, and she contacted our insurance company for details.

On 06-30-20, the day we received the service, when we arrived at their dental, we checked again in person, and the front desk lady confirmed that our dental plan would cover all cost that would happen today and we only need to pay for the PPE. Finally, when the cleaning was done, at the check-out process, she asked us to pay by credit card. We were surprised, but she explained that this was because our insurance was out-of-network (she didn't inform this at the very beginning), however, we would get full reimbursement in 2-4 weeks.

We could do nothing but trusted her, and left. Around 3 weeks later, we received reimbursement from the insurance company, and only $145 out of $541 was covered. There were many chances that the University Dental Professionals could inform us of the out-of-network situation; and they should have figured this out because they have contacted our insurance company before we came. Also, they could have let us know they might only provide estimation, but every time we asked them, they gave us guarantee answers. Therefore, our feeling and guess is, they covered this up, and let us sign many documents and received the service, which is more like a fraud. We request full refund for our service, and only be willing to pay for the $25 PPE.

All the staff are friendly and professional. They have all of the latest dental tools and appear to care a lot about providing high-quality dental care. That said, I was told that I needed to get seven fillings. I got a second opinion from my step-mother's brother, a retired dentist. He said that I probably only needed one. If you care about cost and want a dentist that recommends procedures only when necessary, I would not come here.

Really approachable and caring dental professionals with a clean and welcoming environment. I had an awesome appointment yesterday. Dr. Bosworth and the dental hygienist explained everything they were doing and why. They were really patient with my questions and the front desk staff/everyone were really kind and welcoming. The only downside is that my dental insurance and amount of work I needed don't work well for me. But if you don't anticipate a lot of dental work or have great insurance I'd highly recommend.

Ok. Well. The secret is out! I LOVE THIS DENTAL OFFICE! The staff is professional and everyone has a great smile and dental health! Dr. Shah is knowledgeable and the hours are truly accommodating. I've had teeth cleanings and the cleanings are like none I've ever had before. The techs do an amazing job! Loving this place!

I started going to University Dental Professionals about a year and a half ago after a friend recommended them. I did not love the dentist that I saw there (who is no longer with them), but I really loved Tania, the hygienist. Since she's the one I'm seeing most often for cleanings, I figured I'd stay with them and just deal with whoever they had available to replace the dentist who left.

I said something about always hating the gap in my front teeth but thinking there wasn't much I could do for it, since I have consulted every dentist I've ever had about it and they haven't offered much hope. Tania recommended seeing Dr. Shira Levy. So, I saw her for my next check up.and she thought that she could bond my front teeth--wait, what?! I've been asking people about this for YEARS and everyone said it couldn't be done! Well, last Friday she bonded them--and she and her assistant spent at least 45 minutes after the bonding was in place making sure that they looked absolutely perfect--that the color material completely matched my teeth both at the top and in the middle, where the tooth shade is slightly different; that the shape looks like my teeth and not little fake rectangles in my mouth.

I seriously couldn't be happier. I have smiled without showing my teeth for so many years because I hated the gap. it's pretty amazing after all this time to have the smile that I wanted!

University Dental Professionals have taken care of me and my family for 25 years. The care and caring we have received over those years makes me feel like part of their family. Thanks to Dr Graham, UDP is a model for what an excellent dental practice should be. I can honestly say I enjoy going there.

I had my implants made there. After over 2 years, $35000 and MANY, MANY visits to the office the implants came out OK. My voice definitely changed too. The personnel there were very friendly and accommodating, but the quality of implant work was not good.

I went to UDP for both Invisalign and believe it or not Botox! Dr. Shira Levy is fantastic. She is warm and compassionate with light hands. She makes the experience of going to the dentist a good one. I came in with crooked bottom teeth from grinding. My consult with Dr. Levy went very well. I wanted to straighten my teeth and get a bite plate. She suggested using the Invisalign as my bite plate following treatment and ended up saving me money!

As for Botox - I know it sounds weird. Wouldn't you go to a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon? But who better knows the facial muscles than your dentist? I have been to Dr. Levy two times already for Botox and she is wonderful. It looks completely natural as she errs on the side of caution and is careful not to over treat. I would recommend Dr. Levy and UDP to anyone looking for dental or cosmetic treatment.

I am anxious about going to the dentist and the dentists I have seen here (Dr. Graham and one other dentist whose name I don't remember) have been very kind and reassuring. I didn't take very good care of my teeth for many years so I've had to have a fair amount of work done here and I have been very satisfied by the results. It's a bit more expensive than some places but worth it in my opinion,

I had a tooth that was cracked under a filling. Dr. Vacendak tried fixing it by drilling away the cracked part and re-filling the cavity. I went back 6 weeks later because the tooth was still painful in a tiny area. When she couldn't find the precise location, her response was to act incredulous, like I was wrong about my own teeth (her chair-side manner is terrible).

Then she scheduled me for a crown even though she never pinpointed the problem. I went out in search of a second opinion. My new dentist took an X-ray and identified the problem immediately: the cavity hadn't been filled properly, leaving a tiny area still exposed. She re-drilled and re-filled it, and now it feels great! No expensive procedures needed. Having another dentist fill my cavities was like a breath of fresh air.

At UDP, novocaine injections are slow and you feel the burn the entire time! Dr. Vacendak accidentally hit my nerve last time, eek! Drilling also took forever. My new dentist got me in and out of there in half the time and with no pain. The difference between a good and a bad dentist is huge, and I had a terrible experience at UDP.

I was referred to Dr. Graham by a satisfied client in 2001 when a prior dental repair came to its end. At the time, I was a fairly new to town "regular" at a different dentist's office, but was not sure whom to trust with replacing a front tooth. Since then, the University Dental Professionals office is my regular dentist for cleanings and repairs.

After years without insurance, I have needed multiple repairs, and some of them have been unusual, needing extra consideration and effort. I have experienced a DECADE of absolute commitment to my LONG TERM dental health AND to my satisfaction with results. The approach has been conservative, even as stated in the blurb below, preserving natural teeth for as long as seems reasonable before initiating repair.

When a crown has been needed (to repair a molar with an oversized, ancient, cracked filling, for example), Dr. Graham has gone to inordinate lengths to get a well matched crown, often returning products multiple times to the lab or changing labs rather than requiring that I settle for an inferior or "good enough" look. The staff with whom I interact is consistently gracious, professional, and enjoyable.

The office has been prompt and responsive in apparent emergencies. Additionally, Dr. Graham has worked with me to provide appropriate dental interventions during financially difficult periods. Though at the time I noticed that the price of a cleaning, for exampe, was higher than at my previous dentist's office, I didn't mind the difference, even with limited resources.

I don't want to have to second guess my dentist--and I have 10 years of satisfactory dental experiences that reinforce my conviction that I don't have to. I've been to that other dental office where the practices seem archaic. I've been to the dentist who provides an estimate for team services that is both inflated and insulting to my intelligence. My experience at Dr. Graham's office has been different from that in every way.

I am very pleased with this dentist. I am from Europe and have generally found American dentists to be quite substandard, but am now glad to have found this office. Their technology is much better than what I have seen in other offices (digital x-rays, for example). My doctor's name is Dr. Vacendak, and she is absolutely great. She also sees my three children and has been great for them as well.

The reason why I gave the office four rather than five stars is that they make you pay any bill yourself and then have the insurance reimburse you. It works and you end up paying the same, but I hat to have to front a thousand dollars for a root canal.
