Our mouths do a lot of work (biting, chewing, swallowing, speaking, smiling) and ask for relatively little reward (brushing a couple times a day, flossing at least once a day, occasional dental visits). We have learned much in recent years about the connection between our oral health and our overall health, and the importance of at-home dental hygiene that is supplemented by regular general dentistry exams and professional teeth cleaning.
