I would not recommend going to the Foleck Center on Kecoughtan in Hampton. The main reason for this is because I had one insurance and then changed to Athem only because of better dental insurance. I had to have several thousand dollars of dental procedures done. I was told that they accepted my insurance! During my last dental appointment I asked why my insurance had not paid anything yet. Tessa said that it was denied because she filed it under my last insurance.

I asked her why and she said they didn't know I had changed insurance's. I was shocked to say the least! Then she proceeded to tell me they didn't have a copy of my new insurance card even though I gave them my new card as soon as I got it. Tessa then said no problem we take your new insurance (which I was already told)and I will refile your appointments.

After several weeks and another bill which I have been paying 450.00 each month on I called her back to see why I was receiving another bill. She proceeded to tell me that she didn't have a copy of my new card, which I gave to her again during my last appointment! All I could think was this was unacceptable. Then after a heated discussion she hit me with."we don't accept your insurance because it's a HMO and we only accept the PPO." WHAT!

You mean I've been paying an extra $50 a month for more dental insurance and now I'm responsible for everything! I was in tears and she tried to make it my fault on top of everything. I am on disability and can't afford all of this. Yet I am responsible! No skin off her back. So be very careful if you go there and check behind her like you would your small child to make sure she doesn't screw you too! As for me, I'll be finding another dentist along with my husband who goes to the other Foleck Center in Hampton. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

I've been going to this office for years but never have I received the care I had today. Katrina was so friendly and informative. She talked me through every step, I really appreciate her being personal with me and not just doing a job.

What a difference from the Cunningham office. They didn't require Primary Care doctor approval and got me in for a whitening in 2 days. No sensitivity at all.

Military person here! As you know it takes years to be seen by dental on a ship, especially a carrier. I started to get a tooth pain a few months ago & ships dental was booked. Two weeks ago my pain got stronger & more painful, called this dentistry because it looked cute & nice lol. Had an appointment the following week. Dr. was able to notice what was wrong with my specific tooth I told him was bothering me. We made a treatment plan. Nice staff, shout out to Becky at the front desk. Clean work environment. They accept Tricare, my fellow military personnel!

The entire experience was great! I called in the a.m. and by a miracle got an appointment at 12:30! Assessed my issue, wrote and sent a RX in and made follow up appointment in less that 45 mins! I drive all the way from Gloucester twice a year for cleanings because They Are Amazing with me!

Seniors, please do not give your money to this business. My mom went here for a set of partials. The treatment plan stated one price but each time she went for an appointment there was an additional $100 charge. When this was brought to the attention of the office manager she was arrogant and nasty to my mom and me. A complaint was filed with BBB for which this business did not bother to respond.

I took my mom to another dentist and the cost of the set of partials was $1000 cheaper then the Foleck Center. Please do you research before giving your business to this establishment.

Katrina was my hygienist in Hampton on 10/21/21. She made me feel immediately at ease. I was very honest about how scared I was for a dental cleaning. She was kind, caring, professional, and her sanitizing/ and hand hygiene were spectacular! I truly appreciated it all. She knew I was nervous and helped me through the process. I HAVE to have her again! I was going to leave this office to find one closer to me, but not now! I would drive an hour just to have Katrina again!

Technically 0 stars. I had an infected wisdom tooth that they didnt mention, just began deep cleaning my teeth. Sent me to a wisdom tooth doctor to consult to get them all pulled at once. That Dr told me I had a tooth infection and prescribed me amoxicillin and ibuprofen to help with the pain I'd been having. I can't take ibuprofen because I have high blood pressure (just learned and on HBP meds now).

Fast forward to now, I still have tooth pain so I go to the foleck center to see what we need to do and if they can help me with the incredible pain I'm suffering. I dont want oxycontin or anything just something to help with pain and was told no, I cant manage the pain my only hope of relief is pulling the wisdom teeth. If wisdom teeth such a major aspect of relief why not start treating my infection and tell me wed clean the teeth once we pull the bad teeth?

If step 1 to relief is pulling teeth then why not start there? I'm waiting because I have just got insurance and theres a 6 mth waiting period before theyll cover that but the foleck center did not care. I've been helped more by the consult I had with the wisdom tooth doctor smh. Office is small, rooms are crowded bc there is no space and prices are higher than other places in the area.

Highly recommend going elsewhere. I saw the high rating and thought I'd have a good experience but no and I told my mom and she said if I'd told her I was gonna use them she wouldve been able to recommend somewhere else. She had a hoirrible experience as well and never returned. 0 stars if possible

My appointment was at the office on Kecoughtan Road. I was extremely uncomfortable and strongly considered leaving because there was another patient in the chair extremely close by. I decided to wait because I thought she would finish up with him before seeing me. I was wrong. A small partition separated us, but I could clearly see and hear everything she said to him and he could see and hear my diagnosis because we were so close!

I could also see the procedure she was performing on him. Absolutely no privacy due to limited space. Dr Novak seemed competent, but rushed, as she was dividing her time between me and the other patient. The staff was friendly, professional and put me at ease. They validated my concerns and scheduled my next appointment at the office on Coliseum Dr where they said there is more space and privacy. Not sure if I will keep that appointment. Very strange and unsettling experience.

The staff was all excellent and very friendly. Dr Hamlin was so nice and insanely knowledgeable. Listening to her talk to my hygienist Katie who is also the best, left me amazed. I've never known such a professional and detail oriented dentist! Also, Becky is wonderful and she deserves all the coffee for her hard work.

I had my first visit to The Foleck Center today and it was great. Katelynn was friendly, efficient, and made me feel really comfortable during my visit. She also sanitized EVERYTHING, which was very comforting. I was also seen by Dr. Hamlin who was really informative and welcoming. Her warm demeanor put me at ease during my exam. Sparkle was also very kind and extremely helpful during checkout. Fantastic care and service here.

Called to set an appointment at the Hampton location but was sent to the Norfolk office. Specifically asked the lady over the phone would there be any charges after giving her my insurance information, she assured me there would be no charge with my insurance. After going to the Norfolk office and getting an exam I was charged 75 dollars. This charge should've been discussed before anything was done.

Very unprofessional. After calling around to different offices no one still had an answer but sorry. Whoops. Will not be using this dental office again. Don't hit people with hidden charges. Be upfront about how much services will call.

Had my second appointment with Dr. Hamlin on 3/26/20 and the research and ALL of the reviews I read were true. She is an awesome. Dentist. I experienced no pain which says a lot because I had two extractions. The visit was pleasant and joyous as well as she and her hygienist have an awesome rapport. I am very grateful and will make this my permanent dentist office for future work.

I recently went here for a cleaning and dental examination. First, let me start off by saying that having moved around a lot for school and work, and unfortunately needing dental work, I have been to many dental offices. And out of all the dental offices I've been to, this place is top notch and one of the best. The facility is clean, and the customer service is superb.

The dentist, Dr. Hamlin, is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and highly trained. The hygienist, Kristy Miller, is the best hygienist I've ever had. She's kind and pleasant, and it was immediately apparent that she is experienced and good at what she do. I was grateful that I had such a positive experience at this dental office, especially because I have to go back to get a root canal and I know I can trust their expertise. If you have to get dental work done, this is definitely the office to go to in Virginia.

Dr. L was the worst for me! I enjoyed my hygienist I had a few days before but went back for a tooth extraction. I did not have the female dentist I was told about. I got an extremely older gentlemen with shaking hands! Shaking hands that were in my mouth. His bedside manner was awful and the dental assistant helping him had absolutely no personality. Some people coming in have an extreme fear of the dentist, and my tooth extraction is exactly why. Thanks for being so rough y'all.

I have been to many dentists in my 60+ years and never had a better experience than with the Foleck Center. From the receptionist to the hygienists and doctors, everyone I met was friendly and professional. Dr. Foleck is a rock star in my book and has fixed my teeth (many, many problems) to where they were when I was younger. I have been going to the Foleck Center for two years and will never go anywhere else! They are the BEST!

Came in for a routine exam/cleaning with X-rays and was presented with a $350+ bill prior to the services. Part of that was from a prior visit where I had only gotten a cosmetic injury addressed & 1 tooth x-ray. They neglected to tell me at that time they were out of network for my insurance and sent me the bill later for $120. I declined the cleaning and went ahead with just the exam/x-rays.

It was pretty obvious they were upset about not getting the full amount they tried to get from me. The dental tech gagged me and cut my mouth a few times while taking my x-rays without any sort of apology. After the x-rays were done I could see a problem with a tooth I had been having trouble with. The dentist tried to act like it was nothing prior to me asking about it. Turns out that tooth is calcifying, but the only treatment she offered were veneers. I've made an appointment with a different dentist who offers treatment for calcification rather than covering it. The Foleck Center has proven to be a drill, fill, & bill dentistry. Don't be fooled by the fancy exterior. They are only out for your money.

My visit was extremely helpful and accommodating. I was able to get an appointment right away, and early enough in the morning that I could go to work on time. I was extremely pleased by the staff and doctors being so eager to help and explaining what they saw in terms that I could understand. I think it's one thing to speak to what going on in medical jargon but it's another thing to add value by having the client understand what is being seen.

Absolute worst dentist I have ever been to! Hit me with. 400$ charge today, (didn't show me the charges either) for a late bill that I was contacted about once a year ago (never received anything else in the mail, so I forgot about it) would not let me leave until the bill was paid, and then couldn't understand why I was upset. They called me to arrange an appointment (because they hadn't seen me in a while) just to be able to surprise me with that. Don't waste your time or your money to be treated like crap, and belittled for not being able to pull 400$ out of your ass. I will not be returning.

I am 75 years old. As a child, the only time you went to the dentist is if you were screaming in pain. No cleanings, braces or whatever the younguns get today. Hence at 75 my teeth were on their last leg. I came to Dr. Foleck with the intent of having old teeth removed and having implants put in along with pretty white teeth. So, the implants are in, a remarkably simple procedure from the patient standpoint.

He uses sedation. I was awake, sort of, no pain, no realization of the time expended in doing the implants, and i suppose i slept part of the time. I awaken to smiles on the faces of the staff members involved in my surgery, a mouth full of new teeth needing only some minor adjustments over the next visit or two. The entire process from first walking into their office in Norfolk to two subsequent visits to the Virginia Beach office has been extremely friendly, informative and an obvious desire on their part to make sure the experience is a good one. If you go to this practice, you will be happy. Particularly if you work with Dr. Foleck. Bob B.

Giving this practice 5 stars. I was very impressed. Now if you are a first time patient, please allow ample time to get into the system. I was there for about 2.5 hours HOWEVER I got every x ray and photos so they could thoroughly look at my teeth. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hamlin and she was a delight. For 8am she was very funny and live for so early!

Her hygienists were so nice and had a lot of good information about my teeth. Another thing I loved was that they ran my insurance BEFORE I got to the appointment so they knew exactly what my insurance covered (always good to know your own plan but still this was a pleasant surprise). They were very detailed and went over everything that they did.

Again if you are a first time patient please allow for the time. Also there is only street parking so I would come early enough to account for that. If you are going to cancel, make sure to cancel 2 days before not one so you don't get charged the $50 for the visit. Lastly you get a little gift bag if you're a new patient! Overall I am sooo excited I found a new dentist home!

My husband and I have been coming here for over 10 years. My dental hygienist Karen is awesome! She always remembers things about my interests and family and she always gives care with a smile. They stick to their schedule, so I have never had a long wait for my appointments.

I am really saddened to write this review because I had such high hopes for this place. I purchased Zoom! Whitening service for my boyfriend for his birthday/Valentine's Day because he had been wanting to whiten his teeth. I was pleased with the their customer service and kindness through the phone. The facility is beautiful. There were a couple options I was told about: $350 - zoom! Service, take home custom mold trays, & two whitening syringes. $450- zoom! Service, take home custom mold trays & 7 whitening syringes(that's a lot!

I know!) I decided the $350 package was the best option because I wasn't sure if my boyfriend would need 7 syringes after the service. I had done a bit of research on the service and what to expect throughout so I understood to tell my boyfriend and for myself while I was with him. They put retractors in your mouth. Cover your face with a tissue around the retractors.

They pack your mouth with cotton to keep it dry. They took before photos and matched his before tooth color as a reference for after. They put a protective putty along the gums and cure it with a light so it hardens and protects your gum through the bleaching process. Once you're protected, they paint the solution on the teeth and place the zoom!

Light in front of your mouth for 15 minutes a total of 4 times. An hour total of actual whitening under the light. After each 15 minutes the solution is wiped away from the teeth and reapplied. Great. Basically what I expected and read online. Cons: The hygienist seemed very aggravated and lacked confidence. There were two ladies applying the putty to his gums which later we realized there was a missed spot and he had a raw spot that bled for 4 days past the service.

There was an area of tooth surface in his mouth that wasn't protected and actually covered by a tissue. It wasn't until I mentioned it to the hygienist that she then removed the tissue from that area to expose tooth surface and protect his gums and prepped for the solution. Crazy! This is a professional service and they aren't being thorough with protection and optimizing tooth exposure for the service.

Part 1 begins and protective glasses were not given to him until I said something. At this point his mouth is all packed and he's barely able to communicate. Fast forward to the end of the service. Clean up. All the packing was removed. We took molds for the take home trays. After photos were not taken. What was the point of before photos of after pictures weren't taken either?

There was a huge confusion with the hygienist and what take home syringes we would be leaving with. It took them about 10 minutes to get this straightened out. Kind of crazy considering this is a service they offer. They should have exact packages details and everyone should be aware of this before the patient is sitting in the chair ready to leave.

I was informed at this point that there's one take home whitening syringe and a sensitive solution to go home with. My surprise exactly. I was informed of two whitening syringes. There was miscommunication all over the office. From the beginning purchasing the service, sitting in the chair, the hygienist lacking knowledge as to what is in the take home kit.

The representative I spoke with initially wasn't in the office so they had to get back to me with details. Later I found out that apparently there was a misunderstanding yet again. A few days later my boyfriend had to come back in for the trays and make sure they fit correctly. His appointment at 3pm. He wasn't seen until 345. A quick 10 minute appointment they had him wait nearly an hour.

They gave him a free syringe for whitening for his inconvenience waiting. Kind of strange considering they were reluctant to provide the two whitening syringes which I thought I paid for. Long story short: Overall experience was lousy. Solution in office whitening is 25% - take home night is 22% and day time is 15%. You can purchase the night whitening online for significantly cheaper. Also, purchase an at home UV light.

Perhaps the in office is a better option for some. Personally I feel it was a waste of time, effort, and money. My heart is sad because this was a gift for someone I love and it wasn't what we expected.

I was a patient for over 3 years and enjoyed the experience and thought the work was good until I moved away. Upon moving, a crown, which was less than 3 years old fell out multiple times, which is unusual. I went to another dentist who was shocked that my tooth had been filed down so low that the crown would not hold. When I called the office to discuss this with them, all they had to say was I am sorry and try to get it fixed where you currently live.

To get this fixed, I had to do a tooth lengthening surgery ($1200, luckily my insurance covered most of this), wait 4-6 weeks and then get a crown replacement, which who knows how much that will cost.
