The Austin Dental Spa has been our family dentist for several years and we've only experienced great service by the dentists, hygienists, assistants and admins. As long as we have a choice, we'll choose the Austin Dental Spa.

I've been seeing Dr. Sweeney for almost 40 years. I won't use any other dentist unless I move or he retires. The hygienists over the years have all been terrific. I love the hand massages!

I hate going to the dentist. My experience with dentists are much like experiences with auto repair shops. Condescension, attempts at scare tactics to get you in for more expensive but unneeded repairs, rough handling, etc. Austin Dental Spa was none of that. From the moment you enter, it's clear their goal is to make what is normally a very intrusive and unpleasant experience almost enjoyable.

I'll never enjoy dental work, but with Austin Dental Spa it might come close. UPDATE: I'm three visits in now, one deep cleaning done. And I can now fully confirm that Austin Dental Spa made the whole process, dare I say, enjoyable. Every person from you moment I walked in was kind, helpful, and put me at ease. They even had a weighted blanket for me during the procedure!

They numbed me up, I put on my headphones, and suddenly it was done. I felt very taken care of through the whole experience. No wonder they're so booked, it was worth the wait.

Great place for routine or even emergency dental work. I got a same day appointment for a broken crown and they fixed me right up. I have since been back for two routine cleanings and have been treated well each visit. Extra points for the employee curated playlist of hits. I heard deep cuts from Janet Jackson and David Bowie.

This is the most amazing place on Earth. Forget Disneyland - and yes I'm talking about a dentist's office. I'm the LAST person to want to be at a dentist, but honestly, Austin Dental Spa has been the most awesome experience at really any place I've been. Doctor's offices, dentists, pretty much any customer service place has nothing on this. This place really takes the "spa" part seriously.

You walk into the lobby and it's just beautiful. Everyone is super friendly and happy. They greet you immediately, they offer you a free drink (options include bottled water, flavored sparkling water, and flavored coffees), and you can sit in any of the most comfortable chairs or (my personal favorite) the couch. My first visit I was given a tour of the office which is very well designed, clean, and just generally attractive.

The area the dentists typically do their "backroom cleaning up" or whatever is not hidden here, Dr Sweeney said he wanted everything he does to be transparent for the patients to see. When you go to your little area and sit in your chair to start getting checked out, you will notice a GORGEOUS view of Austin, including a full view of downtown, all the way to the hills in the west (the office is located on the 5th floor of an office building at Northland and MoPac).

You are constantly talking with someone or being taken care of, you're never left to just sit and let anxiety build up. They even offer you a free arm or foot massage while you're in "the chair" which is super cool. I have SEVERE dental anxiety, as well as pretty intense social anxiety, but so far I have had no issues at all and truly enjoyed every second of being here.

For the first time EVER I was able to get my x-rays and pictures taken without being IV sedated (yes, I've had to be IV sedated just to get through my exam/x-rays, that's how severe my anxiety is). They gave me a little nitrous flow, and were so patient and calming with me, that we got through it. Everyone in this office is not just "nice, " I would say they're *experts* at customer/patient rapport building.

I never felt (with my social anxiety) any awkwardness. Special shout-outs to the wonderful people I've talked with and interacted with so far: -Stephanie at the front desk who took my initial call to schedule an appointment, and who greets me every time I've been here -Martha who gave me my initial tour of the office and explained so much about the philosophy and vision of Austin Dental Spa, as well as took me through my exam getting my x-rays and pictures done -Heather who helped me during my consultation visit to go over my treatment plan and who talked to me about my shoes -Diana who presented me with a couple of presents: A "Love Rules!" button and sticker in celebration of Valentine's Day coming up (even though it only reminded me of being painfully single! ) -Carrie who has been a major help with scheduling, logistics and coordination, explanations, and payment and never scolded me for talking too much or going off-topic -Mark Sweeney, D.D.S. the ultimate dentist!

So many times when I've gotten the courage to fill out an online form or email another dentist's office in Austin, I've gotten the same result: a message telling me to call the office and schedule an appointment. When I filled out the contact form on Austin Dental Spa's website, I received a response directly from Dr. Sweeney, addressing the issue I mentioned and giving me recommendations to relieve the issue until I could get an appointment.

He continued to email me back and forth a few times as I asked questions and made my decision that this is the dentist for me. I can't say enough wonderful things about Austin Dental Spa, and I'm super excited that they have been so helpful in the process of trying to finally fix my teeth after years upon years of neglect and poor understanding of basic oral hygiene practices. I totally recommend this place to anyone and everyone who needs dental work, and especially if you have dental anxiety. I'd give 6 stars if I could. Thank you so much

Dr. slagter is awesome. Last Monday I fell and broke two of my front teeth. Had an appointment on Tuesday with regular dentist office. They sent me away with my teeth still broken and an estimate of how to fix them. Diana got me in today an hour and a half later I had composite fillings on my front teeth. Dr. Slagter said, she would have never let me leave the office without fixing me broken teeth.

They look exactly like my previous teeth. I'm so thankful I can smile without feeling self conscious about my broken teeth! I can not wait to see the permanent teeth. Thank you so very much!

This office is very responsive to the patient. Dr. Sweeney has a great empathy with his customers and the hygienists are friendly and have your best interests at heart. The office staff will remind you of needed checkups; just one less thing to remember! The hand massage is a wonderful distraction from getting your teeth work!

I am one of the greatest pain cowards in the Western Hemisphere. These folks are incredible. They take their time, walk you though procedures, answer questions and make you wonder why you were ever anxious in the first place!

I chose Dr Sweeney and I don't regret. He is a great dentist and I had veneers placement. The staff was super friendly and Ashley that assisted him the whole way, is very knowledgeable and knows what she is doing. They made me feel comfortable and safe the whole way! I highly recommend him!

I've never been excited to go to the dentist office but I sure look forward to going now! Dr. Sweeney and his staff are so nice and really go that extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Picture yourself getting a procedure from the dentist. It probably makes you cringe at the thought. Now forget every other dentist office you've been to because you won't be going back! Now, picture you're at Austin Dental Spa. You're in the chair getting a procedure done.

A staff member asks if you would like some laughing gas. You say, "hell yes" and maybe throw your hat in the air (if you have one)! Then.you are faced with a very hard decision. Hand or.foot massage? Just pick whatever comes to your mind first. Then relax and melt into that chair while some oldies songs play in the background. Are you in heaven? Maybe?

But then the procedure is over and the experience ends. Do you have to go back to reality? Can you live there? Soon you find yourself eating candy, not flossing, and skipping brushing (the horror) in hopes of getting cavities because 6 months till another cleaning seams too far away. Ok the very ending might have been a bit exaggerated but I think you get the drift. Austin Dental Spa is simply above the rest.

My only regret is not being able to give Mark Sweeney and his staff 10 stars. Having moved around the country I've probably visited half a dozen dental offices, but the Austin dental spa is by far the most professional, high tech, well run and comfortable place to have dental work. I'll continue to go there and recommend them to all my friends and acquaintances.

Austin Dental Spa is the best! The people are so friendly & I have received top notch treatment every time I've been there! Dr Sweeney did my veneers 14 years ago & I have had the prettiest smile. until one broke in half a few days ago! I just went in to see him today & he, once again, exceeded my expectations! My TEMPORARY veneer is pretty much perfect!

I tried Austin Dental Spa for the first time today, and the experience was truly amazing. Heather greeted me at the door, and did not leave my side during my hour long visit. She personally escorted me through the entire process, and truly made me feel like a person instead of just a patient. Dr. Jordan Slagter was just as amazing. She was thoughtful and caring about my situation, and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable (which never happens at the dentist office).

I went to Austin Dental Spa today to get a one-time consultation, but instead I walked away having a new dentist (and dentist office). I can't give a higher recommendation. Well done, team!

Dr. Sweeny and his crew have made visiting the dentist into a pleasant experience, which says a lot. All employees are courteous, professional and know their jobs well. They also provide hand and arm massages while you're on the table. Hygienist, Dani, is excellent. She is amazing at her job, explains things as she performs them and has yet to cause me any pain (she's also not a bad therapist). Also, the office has recently been beautifully remodeled. Give Austin Dental Spa a try. You won't regret it.

Many years ago, I went to Dr. Mark for dentals care. My entire family has seen him and the care has been good. I recently moved back to Austin and when a side filling popped off my molar, I sent a message to Austin Dental Spa asking if they took insurance. The short answer (which, even though I asked 3 different people, I never received) is NO. I really wish at least one person had just answered me directly.

So this is my $400 tooth part. which popped off again. Probably no big deal for the average patient. For me, however, it is a very big deal. I just wish someone had said to me directly: WE DO NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE.

My dentist is better than your dentist; Dr. Sweeney is a class act with the highest knowledge and standards I've seen. His team is kind and patient and handles scheduling with charm. Austin Dental Spa also offers foot and hand massages during services. I heart going to the dentist!

Have you ever looked forward to a dentist visit? OK, that may be taking it too far, but not by much when you become a patient at Austin Dental Spa. The ambiance is soothing and, seriously, you're offered a complementary hand or foot massage while you're in the chair to keep the soothing going. Every one of the staff, including front and back office, are beyond pleasant. They're fun to be with.

The tech and work flow processes are state-of-the-art, resulting in very efficient visits. Yet, however efficient their team is, you never feel they are trying to rush you through. They are patient and thorough. Speaking of the team, they try to keep you with the same hygienist visit to visit. I saw Emily today and she was fantastic and painless. She had recommendations ready for the dentist that demonstrated exceptional knowledge and judgement.

My dentist is Mark Sweeney, and has been since the dawn of time. He's the driving force behind the professionalism of this business and the reason it's such a positive place. He is a firm believer in pain free (as much as is possible) dentistry. He is skilled, extremely knowledgeable, supportive, kind, and funny. He has me addicted to his bad joke of the day and I beg for an encore. I'm a fan of the Austin Dental Spa and the extraordinary people there. I can't recommend them highly enough.
