We had dental anxiety before the visit, but the new treatment and the whole staff made our experience totally different, it was actually awesome. Our dentist is incredibly smart and didn't waste any of our valuable time, he did what's suitable for us who are afraid of injections and pains.

Dr. Ilya Zak is the Founder and Visionary of our Wellness Dental Team. His passion for dental care took hold at a tender age of 10 when he began to shadow his dentist father, Dr. Boris Zak and volunteer at a local dental lab. He solidified his calling when he graduated from University of Southern California Dental School in 1990, and shorty after opened his first practice in an underserved community of Simi Valley in 1994.

Can someone from the Simi Valley office call me, I have been leaving help requests thru the website as instructed on the answering service when I call. I want to know my due date for the membership I signed up with and get a copy of my agreement as I do not remember singing up for auto-pay. Thanks. I also don't want to be on auto-renewal for the membership as most benefits are covered by my insurance already.

Zak Dental and Ilya If my complaint is unfounded then meet with me and show the proof of refund! You can't because your lying! Show me, and everyone else on the web your canceled check or ANYTHING THING THAT CAN PROVE YOU ARE NOT LYING! YOU CAN'T! WHY? BECAUSE YOU ARE LYING! You have my address and phone number CALL ME! And your response to my complaint is.well, Zak Dental, think about it this way; if you want to know how I can tell your lying?.

Your lips are moving. Come on Zak Dental PROVE to ME AND THE PUBLIC THAT YOU HAVE INTEGRITY! THAT YOU ADHERE TO SOME FORM OF ETHICS! YOU SAY MY COMPLAINT IS UNFOUNDED.GREAT.PROVE IT! I have all the proof necessary to prove your "response" is a lie! So please, please, please challenge me! Rubbing your nose in the manure of your lies, fraud, Breach of Contract, violation of ETHICS, and that PUBLICLY!

While it would not be as good as getting my money back. at least all will know to stay away from and avoid Zak Dental like the plague. If you had only done what was right two years ago we would not be having this "conversation" now! What else do I have to do to get some honesty, some integrity from you? As I said, I am still waiting for a reply from you, but all I've seen is just "smoke and mirrors".

You treat me like if you just ignore me long enough I will just go away, well, I am tired of pleading with you to refund what you owe me. I am not going anywhere and I will continue to put on your reviews the truth until that is all anyone can see, and then some.

This dentist office you can never call directly! The call center in the Philippines is pointless, and they still are doing virtual visits. So they bill your Insurance, and just call saying what you need, then the office NEVER calls back. Its so disorganized, its almost like a 800-Dentist situation. Dr. Zak, do better please.

I had a pleasant experience this morning dealing with the front desk very helpful and detailed friendly office. Tony was very helpful while taking my x-rays it was my first experience at the dental office and I recommend it. It was quick and easy I appreciated their professionalism and their good energy recommend to anyone.

After having 2 of the 4 crowns broken that this dentist group repaired (1 of the 2 broke multiple times) I decided to get as far away from Zak Dental as I could get and go to another dentist. I tried to give this office all the benefits of the doubt when I started having trouble with my crowns breaking. However, after time I could tell this was just plain bad services and workmanship on the dentist and assistants in this office.

You may never see the same dentist twice. For two years they simply would take x-rays and send you home, never to follow up. I went two years without getting a cleaning! After breaking half of my last crown that was repaired off (I now had two broken at the same time with one not being repaired for over a year) and left with a sharp edge cutting into my cheek, this office tried to fill the broken area with plastic, without properly addressing the sharp edge cutting into my cheek.

They sent me home because I refused to agree to pay for the crown to be repaired again! After 3 hours the plastic piece fell out of my mouth. Luckily the other half broke off the next day along with the sharp edge! Be prepared to be left in your chair for extended periods of time with no help or services being completed. A normal cleaning session may take 1.5-2 hours to complete. Simply a terrible experience that just got worse over the 4+ years I went to this office. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

2022, since the last time i was there and the first time in March 2021, my 3 teeth was extracted. My tooth # 8 on upper teeth still has an open. I have not said much or complainted about how should Dr. Zak have any solution for my tooth to be solved. I felt Dr. Zak have no heart or compassion about there patients. Bad, just. Bad. The team seems to lack any sort of real concern for their patients. They also don't seem happy, when I asked a staff member how their day is going they replied "ehh". I think part of this is that they are just way to busy, everything seemed rushed and unclear. I probably could have gave myself a better cleaning. I also had a temporary crown placed that was uncomfortable and excruciatingly painful.

They wanted me to wait over a month before my next appointment. I cut my losses and went to a different dentist that did an amazing job and I left in 0 pain. Also good luck getting a refund with Zak dental. I am on my 4th attempt trying to get my refund back for a procedure I didn't have done with them. They shorted me 750 dollars!

Why can't I get a live person on the phone? I've been to the Simi Valley office there's no reason when the phone rings someone can't pick it up. They tell you go to the website or leave a message. I needed to cancel an appointment for that day because I was running a fever and had a cough. I had to leave a voicemail. I can never get anyone to answer the phone.

Even if it was an emergency. All my other doctors have staff that answer the phone when you call. Dr. Zak needs to talk to his office personnel and tell them they need to answer the darn phones! Mickie P.

I have always had a great experience with Adriana and Dr. Kopel. They are both very helpful and gentle as I have a very sensitive mouth. Thank you for all of your help!

Terrible office. Dont have a direct line to contact them. All calls are outsourced to India. The front desk to the oral surgeons are all terrible. Takes over a week to get in contact with dentist. I was told I was given urgent scheduling needs since I am in a lot of pain. I have not received a call back for scheduling my surgery in 2 days. Filled out the form again. Someone called and said they would call back for scheduling asap. It has been 24 hours again and still not call back.

I finally decided to give up my expensive Hollywood dentist - for whom I have nothing but praise - and try the dentist my insurance assigned me here in Simi Valley. That I arrived at the office before I would have even gotten on the 118 to start the one hour (traffic. ) trip to Mid-Wilshire, was amazing! Once at the Dr. Zak office, I met Vivian, Tony and Daniella, who were all good-humored and, from what I could gather, extremely competent.

This first visit was just for x-rays, so I imagine I'll have to update this review once I meet a dentist, get a cleaning, etc., but so far, I feel like a made a very wise choice!

BEWARE, do not come here. They have extremely long wait times. I understand they are providing services during COVID, but waiting over an hour and a half for a fill is absolutely ridiculous! They will bill you unnecessarily and when you ask them about it/ clarify they get very defensive. They don't follow standard insurance reimbursement bundling, and charge for common items that are typically covered in the insurance reimbursement.

This means that not only will you have to pay a bill, your bill will be more than it was quoted because your insurance will deny the non-bundled portion. This place is not worth your time, I would look elsewhere for dental care. In fact, we found an excellent dentist in Moorpark that has taken care of us since, and we have not experienced the same issues with them. Normally, I would rate this one star, but due to Covid I will give them an extra star for trying!

Dr Zak is handling this pandemic wonderfully. There is lots of text back and forth but there is no waiting around in the office. I find this saves a lot of time. The follow up, like most Dr visits in virtual, these days. Overall it had been a great experience for both of my kids.

Just tried to make an appointment here and had to call back because the background noise in the office was louder than the person I was trying to speak with. After a second attempt with the same results I figured it's to find some one else. Sad front office support.

Horrible horrible horrible! Emailed and called with a million different staff members trying to get someone to confirm my appointment- so so confusing. Finally I have my dad drive me all the way to Ventura which is over an hour and a half from where I live to go to get a root canal which they scheduled at 4:30 PM. I chose this office because they are the only one on my insurance that offers laughing gas and I have really bad dentist anxiety so that's why I chose to drive so far.

The endodontist was so incredibly unprofessional and clearly just wanted to get off work for the day and go home. He initially tried talking me out of getting the root canal at all, then he tried talking me out of getting it with the laughing gas because it would "take too long and it's already 5pm (he made me wait an entire hour after I got there to be seen).

Then he lied and said he thinks they don't have the laughing gas tank in the office today, then he talked to the nurse and she came in and told a different lie about how the mouthpiece on the laughing gas machine was broken and that's why they can't do it. I told her that's not what he said. Then when I was considering trying to face my fear after going through all that and just getting the procedure done without the laughing gas, and she hands me a bill for three times what I was quoted.

Absolutely ridiculous! Do not go there if you can help it. Their specialist, Dr. Johnson is the worst most unprofessional Dr I've ever encountered. He so clearly just wanted to go home and did not want to do the procedure, it was absurd. He also made creepy comments to me about his "soothing voice" being all the anti anxiety medication I need.

My poor dad had to take an entire half day off of work to take me on this wild, unproductive roller coaster ride. I am literally going to pay full price out-of-pocket to a reputable endodontist rather than Ever considering going back to this establishment. Needless to say, I ripped the bib off and got out of there.

Super annoyed I received an email and text message a month ago, 2 weeks ago, 5 days ago, and yesterday to confirm my appointment today to come into the office for my cleaning. I also check online to make sure they were open due to COVID 19 which the website says open, along with calling them today which I got sent to a call center and the recording advised me that it put me on a call back list which they called me back literally right when I got to the door for my appointment to only find out that the office is closed!

I took off early from work which I had to drive almost hour to get to the office only to find out I wasted my time and I'm out money from work! The call center advised me they were closed so they had to reschedule my appointment out a month from my original date I scheduled for. What I thought was absolutely ridiculous is the lady literally advised me if that date did not work for me I had to call 48 hours before my scheduled appointment or they would automatically charge me $50.

I was irritated that she would even say that knowing that I actually came to my appointment and no one was there! Oh and also that I wouldn't be going in for what I was originally scheduled for that I'm going in for a consultation when I had an appointment to have my teeth cleaned! This is not okay at all you need to have better communication with your patients instead of using an automated system that provides false information and a call center that actually speaks fluent english Update: Your staff tried charging me a $100 no show fee today knowing your facility was closed!

You need a better front desk staff in your office including a better manager! I had to wait 45 mins past my scheduled time as well because a room wasn't ready? Shouldn't it be ready at my scheduled time that's what time slots are for!? I only seen 2 patients inside when they decided to let me in and you had multiple people sitting in the hall way waiting for a text back just be seen.

No one answers the phone ever. At least 5 patients were upset including myself! Things really need to change here because your company is going downhill even before this pandemic. I used to love going to the office.

Came here because it was a provider listed under my denti-cal insurance and I needed to get my wisdom teeth taken out. Long story short, even though I had called my insurance personally and they said they would cover everything 100%, the office refused to even request the payment from my insurance after my consultation. They insisted that my insurance would not cover anything and continuously tried to make it out that the only option was to sign up for either a credit line or a payment plan from them.

The office worker was quite rude and aggressive about trying to make me sign a ridiculously expensive payment plan, even after I had told them my insurance already told me they would cover everything. Glad I never got any work done here.
