Santa Anita Dental Group is happy to accept new patients as we proudly serve the Arcadia community as well as San Gabriel Valley. We're located just west of the Westfield Santa Anita Mall on the northwest corner of Huntington and Baldwin. In addition to general and specialty services, we offer cosmetic dentistry such as teeth whitening and veneers for whiter, brighter smiles, clear aligners as an alternative to traditional metal braces, and dental implants for superior smile restorations. We are here to promote oral health with excellence and hope you'll stop by soon!
Focus on stopping the bleeding and protecting the injured tooth or area by following the appropriate instructions in this section. Similar to braces, clear aligners use a gradual force to control tooth movement, but without metal wires or brackets. Routine dental checkups are vital to good oral hygiene and are the best way to detect problems at their earliest stages which saves unnecessary discomfort, time, and money. A filling repairs and restores the surface of a tooth that has been damaged by decay, fracture, or wear.
With proper care and good oral hygiene, the life of a tooth crown can range from 5 to 15 years. If a natural tooth-colored porcelain crown is chosen, our CEREC CAD/CAM treatment gives patients a completed permanent crown in just one office visit. Other types of crown require two office visits. Your dentist will recommend the best type of crown for your dental restoration needs based on the chewing placement and structure of the tooth or implant that requires protection. There are three types of crowns.

I've been going to Santa Anita Dental group for MANY years. Like so many people, I have a phobia of going. Dr. Quen and Dr. "O" always calm my nerves and take the time to answer ALL of our questions. I highly recommend this office. I unfortunately have bad gums, but so far at least it hasn't gotten any worse with the surgeries I've had there. Dr. Quen even followed up with me on Sunday to see how I was doing!

First of all, I wanted to state that although I'm terrified of the dentist, I had a surprisingly enjoyable experience at Santa Anita Dental Group. The two receptionists upfront were both accommodating and generous. Monica, the hygienist assistant, went over and beyond alongside Dr. Jaffer. They performed two fillings without me feeling any discomfort or pain and devoting their time to explaining the severity of my impacted wisdom teeth based on my X-rays. Based on the friendly environment established at Santa Anita Dental Group, I decided to go through with the wisdom teeth extraction. The oral surgeon and his staff were fantastic. The surgery went by in a flash, and the medication prescribed contributed tremendously to minimizing the pain.

I went there to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed. The people who sedated me were really sweet when I told them I was scared of needles, they talked me through it and held my hand throughout the process. It was a quick process too. They just fastened these pulse monitors to me, sedated me, and I woke up and was wheel-chaired (I don't regularly use a wheelchair, they used one because I was dizzy from the sedation) to the car.

They helped my family seatbelt me into my seat and explained to them how change the gauzes in my mouth. They also knew how to negotiate with my insurance provider which was extremely helpful.

I waited for more than one hour for my first appointment. There was no explanations from the front desk and one of the two receptionists by the name of Beth was not very polite and spoke with a very loud voice. When I walked over and asked her why such a long waiting time, the lady impatiently responded "there is just one X ray machine ".

I will absolutely never go back here again. I've always had a decent visit, nothing exceptional, nothing horrible. I did one time have one of the dental assistants be a little too rough and her personality was very unfriendly. This time I came to my appointment on time, waited ten minutes, no big deal and then was taken back to a room. They put the numbing gel on me.but on the wrong side of where my cavity is and said the dentist will be in.

I just sat reading my book while people came in and out of the room multiple times without letting me know how long this would be taking since I had now been there a while. I now here no people talking except for one lady in another room, finally after an hour and 17 minutes I walked out and the dentist was in another room, the assistant sitting down in a separate room and the receptionist was on the phone, no one else in site.

Everyone had went to lunch and I was just left there without being told what was going on. I have already scheduled another appointment with a new dentist and will be cancelling my children's appointments with Santa Anita dental.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. The reason is that everyone here is a swindler and only cares about how much money they are able to charge you. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a competition among the staff of who can scam the most amount of patients because boy, reading these reviews recalled a memory of mine back when I was still a patient here.

I have then switched dental providers (thankfully). The staff here are sweet, kind, and will always give you a toothbrush and toothpaste kit after your visit, but don't let that fool you. Like many patients, I would only come in for a recall (check-up, exam, prophylaxis, occasional x-rays, etc. per my insurance coverage) and nothing else since my teeth were relatively healthy.

After almost two years of coming in and Dr. Wright being surprised every time that I am cavity-free, I suddenly got "diagnosed" with gingivitis and periodontitis. They "recommended" that I start a laser treatment right away, deep cleaning, AND ortho treatment. After being guilt-tripped into getting braces, I asked my other dentist who specializes in periodontics (and who also did my braces) if I needed those absurd treatments, after coming back from my routine cleaning.

He told me my teeth were perfectly fine and those treatments were scams. What is a bit comical to note is that he noticed that the hygenist didn't even clean my teeth well, as pieces of plaque can still be seen. Here are some things to note: 1. They do not use a cavitron or ultrasonic scaling during routine cleanings, albeit it is normal at other practices.

I only got it once out of the 5-6 ish times I went. 2. To my knowledge, they did not use scalers. They use a mirror and explorer only to poke around and remove large pieces of plaque. 3. Using the prophy tip and the paste is not cleaning (for the individuals out there who think so). The paste they use with the tip is only to polish your teeth. It pains me to hear that patients--who are entrusting people with not their dental care but overall health--are being lied to by these con artists.

So many individuals have told me that "all dentists are scammers" which is false, but that statement apparently holds true at least at this practice. For people that are thinking to come to this place, I hope you are either insanely wealthy or enjoy giving fraudsters the satisfaction of taking advantage of you.

Terrible service. I had to wait an hour during my last appointment before I was seen; it took months to schedule my next check up. Today I needed to reschedule and she told me she could not get me in until February. I'm a returning client and just gave them back a time slot. How they can't find another time slot in less less than two months is mind boggling. I'm finding a new dentist.

Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience at this office. I underwent the standard x-rays, which generally went off without a hitch. Once I saw the dentist, I received a similar "pitch" that some other reviewers have described. After an evaluation that last about 2 minutes and that involved sticking a probe in one spot of my gums, I was told that I had plaque buildup and that a routine cleaning as well as a deep "laser" cleaning we're both advised.

I am not a dentist and am not qualified to debate the relative benefits of each of these different types of cleanings. Suffice it to say that at no point had my prior dentist ever recommended a laser cleaning treatment that was suggested here. I was told that the treatment would cost $400. In spite of these doubts, I was willing to take the dentist at his word and to pay for the recommended treatment. Things really went off the rails when I was told that no cleaning could be completed during my visit and that I would have to come back another time.

When I asked if we could do a standard cleaning and just skip the seemingly more involved laser treatment, I was told that this would not be possible (no explanation for why). I expressed my disappointment that I'd come to a dentist visit only to get x-rays, have a probe stuck in one area of my gums, and to be told that I needed to get my teeth cleaned (which I already knew).

The front desk then made several rather feeble attempts to find other times when I could come in to get the recommended cleaning. When I patiently explained that neither of the two proposed times would be possible with my work schedule, I was told that I could come in on a Saturday but that only "half of your mouth would get cleaned." I declined this option for obvious reasons.

Bottom line: place is a bit of a factory, they seem to upsell, and at least in my case the customer service was disappointingly poor. Fortunately, there are plenty of other dentists in this town, so I will find another one.

Been coming for years to this location. I was so glad to change from my last dentist. I've always been impressed with the treatment I've received from the staff and Dr. Wright. Recently, I have noticed some stains on my bottom front teeth, which I didn't have before. Really made me feel self conscience of my smile. Couple of weeks ago was my routine cleaning.

What always impressed me is how the doctors care for the patients' teeth and the time they spend at this location. As he was cleaning, he mentioned my stains (GASP) and we talked about what might of caused it. Too much coffee or wine and what I can do. Then he asked about my mouth wash. I told him I recently changed and he suggested it might be the cause.

When I got in my car, I looked at my teeth. wondering and hoping he lighten the stains, just a little. OMG.they were gone. I am SO HAPPY! And I recall, during the cleaning, he was going back to spots, but I was thinking those stains were there FOREVER. So THANK YOU Dr. WRIGHT for taking the time and giving me my smile back! PS mouthwash thrown OUT!

My family and I really liked this office when we started going a few years ago. Dr. Oktanyan was always so nice and informative. But over time it seems to have turned into a bunch of people just trying to sell me and my family things we really don't need. What's even worse is when they tell me a procedure will cost $1,600 out of my pocket and then when I tell them I can't afford that they suddenly drop the price by $400. I've decided to change dentists. I will not not be returning to this office.

I wished I read these reviews before coming here. Same experience as others here. I just wanted a simple cleaning but they kept pushing a deep cleaning even though all my previous dentists told me that my gums are fine and a deep cleaning is not necessary. When I requested a normal cleaning, they said it's not ethical or legal for them to give a normal cleaning, which is pretty comical. Even asking for a copy of my X-rays to go somewhere else was very difficult.

I've been going to Santa Anita Dental for many years. They are always courteous and caring. They also referred me to have my surgeries with Dr, Yuen. I've had to have teeth pulled, gum surgeries.in the last couple of years. Like many I'm so fearful of this. NO FUN! However, Dr. Yuen always calms my nerves. And she ALWAYS follows up with a call to me to see how I'm doing the following day. EVEN ON A SUNDAY! I

The worst dental office I've ever been to. I came in for a routine check up and regular cleaning. They started off by giving me a bunch of x-rays and then the dentist told me that I had early periodontitis. They suggested an antibacterial laser treatment along with a deep cleaning (both not covered by insurance). Then the lady at the front desk came and told me my payment options, she said that the cost for a deep cleaning is $1k but "they've managed to bring it down to $400".

When I heard that, I was already feeling very suspicious because it just sounds like a sales pitch to me. I ended up leaving the office without even a regular cleaning. It's also worth adding that my friend went to the same office a week before me and got the same diagnosis and treatment plan. I was very suspicious so I ended up going to another dentist and they told me that my teeth and gums were perfectly fine. All I needed was a regular cleaning. My experience at Santa Anita Dental Group makes me lose trust in dental professionals. Never coming back here again.

Total crap dentistry. Be warned, they are NOT a dentist office, they are a used car lot and try to upsell their "services." I went for an initial cleaning today and was there for 90 minutes before they told me I had to reschedule because a hygienist wasn't available (unless I wanted to wait even longer). They tried to scam me into buying a "deep cleaning" and a "antibacterial something or other". Anyway, after insurance it's be about $700. Listen, I just want a cleaning. In the last 15 years I haven't had a cavity or any "issue" with my teeth that any other dentist has told me about.

I am so glad I found Santa Anita Dental because otherwise I would never have met Dr. Yuen. Dr. Yuen goes out of her way to make me feel comfortable each visit. She explains everything completely and clearly. She always takes the time to address any question I may have. This is a popular and busy practice but I always feel a personal connection with her. Her high skill level and compassionate care gives me confidence that I chose the best option for all my dental needs.

I got my two front teeth refilled (e.g. chipping from teeth grinding from PTSD), last Monday and my left front tooth chipped 3-days later, which is when I realized that the refills were also significantly crooked. Since the pandemic the office staff's morale and customer service has declined. When I called to schedule an appointment to fix an urgent visible aesthetic, they told me they were busy and to call back.

I feel like that's their response every time I call. Too much inconsistency for me. I'm spending the holidays with a chipped front tooth and I'll have to make sure not to smile for the pictures.

Best periodontist you can see. She can handle all your oral care and also is the nicest I have ever had. She really does care about her patients and goes beyond what most will do for you. By far the best Dr. Dentist oral surgeon and just a really honest and nice person. She truly is my hero and made me feel better when I was in horrible pain.

I really liked this place initially but after going here for 2 years with my family we felt really scammed. They said white lies and tried to charge us on little things. They get rid of the good and ethical employees while keeping the ones who will try to up sell you. They told me my insurance didn't contact them yet, but when I called my insurance they told me that they gave them a message a week ago. I'm very disappointed in this business and I will never go here again. Never ever go here, you will regret it.

Getting dental implants with Dr. Yuen and team was a much a better experience then I could have ever imagined. She put me at ease, answering all of my questions and even followed up post procedure. I appreciate the care the team took and would highly recommend Dr. Yuen for any dental work.

Update: On the day I made this post, the office manager Joy and dentist reached out to me and explained the situation: the person who I spoke to is their temporary employee and is not part of their team. They offered me an earlier day to come in, but I already made my decision switching to another dentist.

Dr. Yuen and her team was awesome. She was very sweet and answered all my questions. She even called me after my procedure to check in on how I was doing which I've never had from any other doctor before. I highly recommend her if you ever need a great doctor. Thank you Dr. Yuen! You're the best!

Friendly staff, clean building. Lack of faith in their own abilities. Dr. Wright wants a "medical clearance" from my cardiologist before doing fillings on me? Are you kidding me? I have checked with various other sources I trust and have known much longer than these people and this is the first anyone I know has heard of this. If it were not for the cost of the work quoted I honestly wouldnt be dealing with these people.

Not the most forthcoming from my point of view. And their office manager says that its better to wait a few more days to get "medical clearance" I went to their office with a hole on my tooth their girls told me "not to worry" it can be fixed same day that didnt happen. I just got fed a ton of sorry excuses from the Dr.

Garbage service. They care nothing but money. The assistants are rude. And the dentist Dr. Lui never introduced herself, spoke very fast. She never listened to customer's opinion, concern and plan, but just made every decision in her way.

Not bad not great. Do what you got to do. I thought the front desk was very welcoming and very informative. The doctor gave me a heads up of whatever is going to happen which was very calming since getting wisdom teeth removed is never fun. Although, I did encounter a rude young lady right before the procedure, I believe she is just an assistant or volunteer, which completely ignored me and had a stink face. Maybe she's just not a morning person, but even though there should be no reason to be rude.

I had a terrible experience. Waited in the dentist chair over an hour for the dentist, he never showed. The hygienist spent maybe 10 minutes cleaning my teeth and about a much time trying to convince me to replace caps and purchase a teeth whitening. Clearly they are more interested in sales than dental care.
