I went into Roger Family Dentistry yesterday due to a chipped tooth. I've had previous problems with my top two teeth because I was born with a bilateral cleft lip and partial palate. (In 9/21 I had made an appointment without looking at the bad reviews first. After making the appointment, I saw the bad reviews, but despite them, I figured I'll give this practice a shot.

I was assigned to a great dentist who I really liked, so I continued to go to fill a couple cavities.) When I went in yesterday for my chipped tooth, I saw Dr. Vilardo. I didn't have a lot of time to interact with her but a couple statements were said I felt were unprofessional or did not sit right with me. For example, when she told me I needed a root canal due to an infection and double crowns done.

I was trying to tell her I had seen another doctor at their practice before, and if possible, I'd like to stick with him. I felt like she cut me off in mid sentence. She said he no longer worked there, she didn't know where he went, and he went somewhere he didn't have to work as hard as he had to work there because he didn't want to work that hard anymore. Secondly, when I asked if she's worked with patients previously with cleft lips and palates, she said she's seen tons, and she's been doing this for 30 years, so she's seen a lot.

Her answer seemed a bit of a blanket statement and made me feel a little uncomfortable about her diagnosis. What she said about the previous doctor was a bit unsettling (I really wish I had spoken up to her then because her statement felt untrue.) An x-ray was only done on my teeth yesterday. She did not do any sort of cold tests, tapping on my teeth to see if they were hurting or if anything was wrong.

I did a Google search for my previous dentist's name and was able to locate where he's gone to. I confirmed he was there, made an appointment, and saw him the same day at his new practice. He did cold tests, he tapped on my teeth to ensure they were not hurting me. He took an x-ray and concluded that what she saw was probably the cleft palate I have, and not an infection.

I do not need a root canal, and crowns are not urgent at this moment. Another issue I had with Roger's Dentistry is, back in 9/21 I had originally called about my gums bothering me, possible cavities, and a cleaning. The front desk wanted to handle the cavities first and then schedule a cleaning. From September, their first opening for a cleaning was in 3/22.

A couple weeks ago, they called to reschedule. They could not reschedule me until 9/22 for a cleaning I tried to make in 9/21. All in all, I really wish I had spoken up to Dr. Vilardo about my previous dentist. A doctor should never speak of another doctor like that, especially to a patient, and a new patient to them at that. Although I had only been treated by the first dentist I saw from this practice about three times, I felt like I had a good sense of his character and what type of person he is and I knew what she had said was untrue.

The only positive experience from Roger's Family Dentistry yesterday was, they didn't bill me; said I had a credit (I'm assuming that's about to change when they read this review though) Update: Changing to a 1 star because they billed me when they said it was already covered by credits that I had. __ Update #2: I dropped the bill off along with my insurance information with Missy at the front desk on 4/12/22.

I waited until 4/18/22 to call to see if it had gotten taken care of. They did not have my insurance info on file. I told her it was given to her via text. She said okay, it would be taken care of. The next day, 4/19/22 I call back. They said info was not on file and would call back. I told her if they did not call back, I'd show up in person to get it sorted out.

I had to show up in person. Alex at the front desk sent to insurance for me, and she was fantastic 4/21/22. Missy calls me on 4/27 saying they didn't have insurance on file. I called Alex back, and everything she's done had been deleted and my insurance information was missing.

Worst dental experience of my life. She started of the "cleaning" by polishing my teeth. Then she hurriedly flossed them. Then she used the pick maybe 3 or 4 teeth. She tells me my 2 lower front teeth are loose and grabs this X-ray machine and practically shoves it down my throat. Of course there was nothing wrong. (I had been told at the beginning of my "cleaning" I was not due for any X-rays.) Then at the end of this experience which maybe lasted 15 or 20 minutes including the unnecessary X-ray, a man walks in.

He doesn't introduce himself or anything. He spends maybe 30 seconds (at most) looking at my mouth and said everything is fine (funny - last time I was in they wanted to fill a cavity which I never filled?) If they try to bill me for this X-ray which wasn't even ordered by a real dentist (if they even have them there) I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Dr. Jim exuded confidence which made me trust him. As a patient, you have to realize that you are going to experience a little discomfort. He and his staff were so kind and professional that I knew that they had my best interest at heart. My teeth happen to be very difficult to extract. In the past one dentist didn't even extract the whole tooth. But this time was different. Dr. Rogers was careful to extract the two teeth that had been giving me unbearable pain. I won't go anywhere else now for my dental work.

I absolutely have and always will give Dr. Nagy a 5 Star Review. She always goes above and beyond to make her patients feel comfortable, informed and respected. If there was a 10 Star Review, I would definitely give it to her. However, I have had several issues with the front desk and billing department, more specifically one young lady who's name I will not mention. yet I will say this, she is extremely rude, unprofessional, condescending and full of misinformation.

It is my suggestion that people look past the poor communication and somewhat immaturity of specific employees and definitely give the actual Dentist a Chance. In the end, their expertise and compassionate care will make up for the lack of intelligence and inability to accept personal responsibility for their actions that has been witnessed in one specific employee.

In my past there has been severe trauma regarding dentists. I live an hour away but sought out this place due to their late hours. I was in need of immediate attention due to years of not going to the dentist regularly. The front desk has always been patient and worked with my limited schedule. They have gotten me in next day, same day, as soon as they can every single time.

The phones are always busy but be patient.it is a busy office trying to help everyone they can. Dr. Castle man is my dentist and has been patient, meticulous, gentle, and open to any and all of my issues that have come. He has called me after procedures to make sure I am okay. That is something he does on his own. He talks me through what he is doing and listens if there is a concern.

I have come a LONG way with my anxiety at the dentist and it is thanks to the Dr and staff. Is this office perfect.no.it is a doctor's office dealing with insurance companies and people in distress! I know first hand how difficult insurance can be. I know first hand that people in pain are NOT the friendliest. But it is perfect for me and they really care about me. I. have tried to find a dentist closer to me and sure enough their attitudes and lack of compassion, friendliness, and horrible bedside manner helped me make my decision to always drive to see Dr. Castleman and staff who have my best interest at heart.

Let me start by saying I've never left a negative review on any business in my life. Stay away! We have dealt with rude hygienists, dentists with poor bedside manner, and now last second cancellations. I know many other people in Anderson that told me they switched years ago. I guess we have been to busy to switch. We are definitely going elsewhere now.

Dr. Julie Vilardo was amazing.she didn't hurt me at all during my root canal! I'm very anxious when going to a dentist and being that I have never been here before, I was more nervous than usual. The entire staff has been so accommodating and personal. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a great dental experience!

Had an appt. to get my teeth cleaned on 05/04. I drove approx. 30 miles for this appointment. I have used DR. Douglas Rogers since the mid 1970's. When I got there they asked me to sign to the fact I agreed to a $100.00 fee should I need to be in one of their chairs for more than one hour. I would not sign this as I had been a patient for so long.

I asked they to check my payment records- that there had never been an instance where I owed a balance which I id not pay. They called the office manager- I told her the same thing. She promptly escourted me to a side exit door & told me to let her know where to send my records. Not only were they unprofessional in my, they did not even clean my teeth.
