Our professionals have the highest levels of accreditation and provide the best care to our patients. You'll feel comfortable and welcome at our office from the moment you arrive. Ann is starting her 38th year as a full time dental hygienist. Born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa she graduated from the University of Iowa in 1983 with a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene.
At River City Dental Care we provide exceptional quality and prevention-oriented dental care, utilizing the latest techniques and "state of the art" equipment. We do this in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, with convenient hours and plenty of free parking. The main level of our building is devoted to patient care, with nine operatories, equipped with chair side computers, televisions and DVD's to provide interactive communication and patient education.We offer digital radiography, which provides minimal x-ray exposure to patients and exceptional imaging for diagnostics.
Dr. Scott Clemons has a Bachelor's Degree from Luther College, and later went on to achieve his Dental degree from the University of Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1993 and conducted post-graduate work for a year, completing the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program in 1994.
The staff were kind, efficient, and knowledgeable. My hygienist, Natalie, was able to answer several of my questions regarding tooth sensitivity and possible cavity concerns prior to seeing Dr. Clemons so I felt confident in my care. Scheduling-wise they worked to accommodate my appointment after a last-minute change of plans.

I had a simple dental cleaning, as I have for the last 40 odd years. The hygienist was quite pleasant and quickly ushered me into the chair. She explained it was only a cleaning and no X-rays were needed. I have a long history of a strong gag reflex and X-rays are challenging. I have gotten better over the years with the films and each hygienist has worked with me to get the best quality shots. I always appreciate how I am greeted upon entering the office and that they all seem to know my name.

I was a patient at River City Dental Care for as long as I can remember. After moving to another town, I tried out a local dentist. The staff at this local dental office told me that all of my front top and bottom teeth were mobile and that I need a periodontal treatment for my gums on my lower right side as soon as possible. This was October of last year, just 6 months after my last cleaning with River City Dental in spring of 2021.
I found this strange but decided to give this new place one more shot. Sure enough, they voiced their immediate concerns to me again and pressured me to schedule and pay for these treatments. I thought it best to get a second opinion. I called River City Dental Care a few days later and they got me in their schedule right away. Dr Clemmons reassured me that my teeth and gums are perfectly healthy, none of them are mobile and no periodontal treatment would be needed. The moral of the story here is if it's not broken, don't fix it! I will be coming back to River City for my next cleaning and each one there after.

Dr. Dierdorf and his staff have always been wonderful. Today they went above and beyond. I had chipped one of my veneers (front tooth), and it looked terrible when I smiled. They got me in right away and Dr. Dierdorf took care of it for me. Dr. Dierdorf is a wonderful dentist and his staff are always friendly and caring. 5+ stars for sure!

I have been going to river city dental for years - and am always impressed with the staff and the work that is done there. dr clemons is gracious and caring, the staff that i get to interact with are also very caring folks who are gentle and professional while still being friendly and open to questions. they all go above and beyond. this is from someone who just hates dental work - lol. just had a whitening done, and it is amazing! if you have been looking for a dentist and dental staff who are the best - you owe it to yourself to look into river city dental in iowa city.
