The main goal of General Dentistry is the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of common dental problems. General dentistry is an all-encompassing term used in dentistry to cover many simple and complex procedures to improve your oral health or improve your smile's aesthetics. A general dentist prefers to provide more minor, preventive care than to see patients suffer from more rigorous treatments from a problem that could have been managed in time. They ensure that your oral health is in its best state and positively contributes to your entire body's health.
Cosmetic dentistry is known as the exercise of improving your smile and helping your self-confidence. A smile is the first thing that a person notices when they see you, and you want to ensure that it is as beautiful as you can make it. Confidence is a penchant, and with healthy teeth and a beautiful smile, you get that boost to your self-esteem.

My son was always scared to go to the dentist, the staff at progressive was so sweet with him and let him engage in both mine and his cleanings and gave him a little toy at the end, even after getting fillings he is still wanting to go back to see Dr. Meredith :

I haven't been to the dentist for a long time and Covid hasn't helped. But I stopped into the office Monday and Kristin made an appointment for me for today and I was able to get in and Taylor did a great job on my teeth. It was a great experience all around for me who is not a fan of orthodontics. I'm glad to now be a client of Progressive Dental of Ann Arbor. Thank you.

Before the COVID-19 started to have major problems with my teeth. Had to have all my top teeth removed, they had made the dentures, the Covid-19 hit so everything was put on hold. I have been very understanding and had been very patient with the amount of time. Have the post and plate the plate has been hurting sense my last check up

I was assured that the extra services they recommended were covered under my insurance but they were not and I was charged over 300 dollars. It took over 6 months to figure out the details of the bill. I was also charged an 80 dollar missed appt fee when I cancelled due to a sore throat during COVID. Very disappointed!

My 5 and 8 year old daughter actually like to go to the dentist! I will admit picking out a toy at the end has been helpful but this place is a great experience for kids all around! My hygienist Kelli is very gentle, personable and professional; a shinning example of how great this office is at hiring and retaining amazing staff. Yes you heard me right; my kids look forward to going to the dentist!

No complaints about the dental care. Very questionable business practices. I was charged for a missed appointment that I asked be postponed during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. My credit card continues to be charged months after we moved to a different dentist.

Horrible customer service. Billing department is condescending and rude. Blatant disregard for clients when recommending services - telling patients that services are covered when they are not and then sticking you with the bill. Wont return return phone calls when inquiring about bills. God help you if you get Missy in billing.

Great dentist, the place is so nice and quiet, and my favorite part is how quick and efficient they are. I've never been in the waiting room here for more than 10 minutes. Just yesterday I called because I was having horrible tooth pain. They got me an appointment only 2 hours from when I called, and when I got in they took X-rays, cleaned my tooth, prescribed me antibiotics, and I was out in less than an hour.

When I got to my CVS, my prescription had already been sent over and was ready. When having tooth pain like I was having, the time efficiency is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dr. Bart Hall!

Dr. Hall & Hall, are very kind, caring and knowledgeable. My treatment was thoroughly explained, and I was very comfortable during treatment. The receptionist, worked with me to schedule appointments around my schedule. I was given a treatment estimate before my treatment, my copays were explained and easy to understand. The receptionist helped me navigate Care Credit application and offered additional finance options as well.

I appreciate the level of communication the office provides to confirm appointments, update forms and keep me safe with Covid precautions. I asked for text regarding appointments etc, and have requested statements by email as well to forward to my health savings plan for reimbursement. The staff goes above and beyond!

Great dentists but the support staff leave much to be desired. We booked an appointment 5 weeks ago and found out the day of the appointment that it was either cancelled or not booked properly. The woman on the phone just kept being rude and saying, "That doctor doesn't do that type of appointment". Which is fine, except calling to tell us the appointment was cancelled would have been helpful or not scheduling it at all.

Why on earth would they schedule it and then just delete it and not inform the patient? Instead, I spent 5 weeks anticipating this appointment and was left in pain with an offer of a prescription while I wait another 5 weeks. You have to be on top of the billing because there are regular mistakes. I have sent my youngest son's insurance information in 4 times and hopefully now this time they have billed it, but I won't be surprised if I get another bill.

One of the front office people doesn't wear a mask. When I refused to approach her she pulled one up over her mouth but not her nose. Then she was repeatedly asking me what number tooth they worked on, and when I asked her how I would possibly know that she said it was my tooth. Well yes, it was. But learning how dentists number the tooth is generally not a pre-requisite for dental care.

Finally another woman looked it up and called it over to her. The dentists are great and make you comfortable and do a good job. But it's constant problems with the front desk. I have half my treatment plan done, and am just going to look somewhere else. This is very disappointing, but it's not the first time I've made an appointment and they moved it or cancelled without bothering to tell me.

My husband took the day off work and I got childcare to watch my special needs kids. It's not easy for me to plan an appointment and I need my time respected as much as theirs if I were to cancel on the same day. Despite being in the middle of my plan, and actually in pain, it just makes sense to move on. And given I have a daughter with medical needs, an office staff who takes the virus seriously is important to me as well

This dentist in one appointment gave me around seven fillings without adequately asking if I wanted to receive these fillings beforehand. I believe that I not only didn't need these fillings, but also that my mouth could not handle all of these fillings. I also believe he solely gave me these fillings so he could take the extra money I had on my insurance premium.

I believe he is a misaligned dentist that only cares about making money and cannot be trusted. When I went in for my cleaning, he told me that I needed two cavities. A week later when I went in to get the two fillings I was immediately injected with an immense amount of novocaine, it was by far the numbest I have ever been. After all this novocaine made me drowsy and not able to think clearly in my head, he came and announced he was actually going to give me seven cavities, and without explicitly asking me or giving me any time to think proceded to start the operation. Afterwards, I was furious and the only explanation I recieved was that he decided that morning to reevaluate my x-rays and decide that I need what was coincidentally the perfect amount of fillings to use up my insurance premium.

To make matters worse he did such a terrible job I couldn't eat solid food for months. I had to go back multiple times as he readjusted my fillings over and over again, almost weekly. However, there are so many filings that nothing can fix the damage that was done. Even to today, I can only eat out of one side from my mouth. I am no longer seeing this dentist, finally found a new one so I felt free to make this post. Please feel free to inbox/message me directly if you are considering this dentist and want more details about what he did to me

Very friendly and professional, a great place for adults and children. I've been taking my grandson there for years and I've never had a bad experience. They take the time to explain what they are doing and why. I love that

Progressive dental is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The moment we walk in the door we are greeted with warm faces. The assistant's that worked with the Dr. kept me in the loop every step of the way at my Sons visit. He is terrified of needles but, Dr. Bart Hall numbed him and he said that he didn't even feel it! He saw the hygienist Kelli as well. He feels so comfortable with her, and wants to see her every time. Great job Progressive Dental, two thumbs up from a 12 year old boy!

Wonderful, thorough care. I've never experienced an office that was so dedicated to not only patient care, but also patient education. Glad to have such a great facility in the area, would recommend to friends and family alike.

I used to go to this practice but decided against going back when they consistently over billed for services and finally told me that my son had 27 cavities that they had seen using their "mouth camera." 27 cavities - really? The final straw was when Dr. Hall and her assistant began talking about how Dr. Hall's dog was "raped" by another dog and how now she would need to abort the puppies.

That conversation was way over the top - nothing I cared to listen to while having my tooth filled. I have since found the most wonderful and honest dentist in all of Michigan - there are still good people out there who are not trying to rip off the consumer at every tur

Agree with the other reviewers that Dr. Hall provides great dental care, but that the billing process at this practice is shady. I wasn't informed that the procedures Dr. Hall was going to perform, had large co-pays and I was unexpectedly out close to $1000 after my visit. Especially concerning since the procedures were not urgent and I could have spaced them out in order to save up. Needless to say I will not be back.

If I've learned anything from my experience at Progressive Dental, it's not to pick your new dentist based on a flyer in your mailbox promising a $50 gas card. I never had a simple cleaning appointment - each time I went in, I was told I had lots of complicated (read: expensive) issues that needed to be dealt with immediately. The office is very clean and high-tech, and gives you the impression that they have access to any drill/specialist/tool/laboratory/etc under the sun and can offer you all the complicated and expensive care they insist you need, right away.

In spite of all the technology and resources (and staff members - you will rarely see the same person twice) they are disorganized and unprofessional. They will tell you that you are in need of thousands of dollars' worth of work, that more reputable dentists will deem completely unnecessary. And to cap it all off, at the end of the year they will check your dental insurance to see how much money is left and will send you something in the mail letting you know what you could still spend on dental care before the end of the year.

So if a disorganized, overly aggressive, unprofessional attitude held by a revolving-door squadron of hygienists under the oversight of dentists who are rarely present is what you want, Progressive Dental of Ann Arbor is the place for you. If not, please, please, PLEASE do not go to this dental office. If there were fewer dentists like this in operation, insurance costs would go down for everyone and there would be more respect to be had for the profession. I hope this place goes out of business.

BEWARE: I got a call from the office about my original post. They threatened me with lawyers. I took it down because I don't need any lawyer drama. I was frustrated they would not reconcile a bill. ** good news! The 2 teeth they wanted to crown, turns out my new dentist said I only need 2 small fillings.

I had a dispute with the office because during my last visit, they failed to even tell me that the dentist was not in. In the dispute that resulted, they disclosed two pages from my "RECORD OF MEDICAL TREATMENT" to the BBB. The BBB had ruled against them, so they did so in retaliation. From the BBB complaint: "the BBB has determined that the company's response does not adequately address all the issues or make a good faith effort to resolve the dispute." I have been requesting my medical records from them for months, and they still have not provided them.

This office is horrible, went in for general cleaning and got talked into getting a crown for a tooth that was perfectly healthy. In the end had to get a root canal due to the dentist (Dr. Hall) terrible job. I went back to my previous Dentist in New York City who clearly stated that no worked needed to be done in the first place and that the root canal was not even up to par.

My advice to everyone out there reading this, DO NOT listen to this dentist, definitely get a second opinion, and after you get a second opinion, find a dentist who actually cares about your teeth and not his own wallet.
