We have been going to Cynthia Cox for over twenty years for our dental care. Cynthia is amazing, she is always up on the latest techniques, always listens to the patient, really attends to pain management and has a great relationship with her staff. At times Cynthia has told us to call her cell even on a weekend if we have have had tooth pain and needed an urgent consultation.

I think Cynthia goes above and beyond in her care of patients, including her follow-up with other specialists. We are grateful to have found such a caring committed professional and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for dentist in the East Bay.

Never had a better experience at a dental office. Dr Cox and her staff are super. I have had some old fillings and crowns replaced and they are always patient, accomodating, professional, and gentle. Excellent dentist for nervous patients, as they take the time to explain in detail every step they are going through and let you know what to expect, even during cleanings. Highly recommend Dr. Cox and everyone in her office.

I've been going to Dr. Cox for ~10 years and only had positive experiences.

Dr. Cox is amazing. I had to have a number of procedures this past year, including fillings, cleanings etc. Along each step of the way, Dr. Cox explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand but not condescending in the least. It is so difficult to find any doctor who knows both how to communicate information in a way that non-medical professionals can understand but also make the patient feel respected and taken seriously. I've so rarely met any medical professional who takes the time to really explain things to patients in this way.

On top of that, she is really friendly and nice! I trust her advice and feel confident that she has my health (not my insurance money) in mind. Dr. Cox also has an amazing network of specialists and referred me to an endodontist and to an oral surgeon for other procedures, both of whom did a great job. I have already recommended her to friends and will continue to do so!

I went to Dr. Cox on a referral from a co worker and absolutely LOVE her and Pia, the hygienist and the front office too. Always so helpful and my dental health has never been better. Thanks to PDG!

The last time I came here the experience was the worst I have ever had with any dentist. I had a cavity that needed help and so i went in. I have bad gums and the dentist Dr. Zavaterro recommended i go to a gum specialist he is associated with. I couldn't afford that option so i brought up that I have a an uncle in Mexico that is a really talented dentist and that could recommend me to one of his associates for gum work.

The doctor then proceeded to go on a rant about how instead of wasting his time I should go to Mexico and get my cavity fixed there. He literally shamed me for being a lower income and a minority (latino) and implied that Mexican dentists are inferior to American ones. Which is absolutely not true, Mexico like any other modern country has many great & experienced professionals in the medical industry.

Unfortunately dental work is cheaper down their due to economic disadvantage so that is an option some of us Americans have to consider when we can't afford the high price of dental work in the USA. You would think that with Donald Trump being president most of us California-folk are trying differentiate ourselves from the classism and racism being pushed by the far-right. I get that even racists could be good dentists. But I would rather not go to a racist one who shames me for my income

I found these folks on Yelp and was not disappointed. They have wonderful support staff that have been patient and helpful with all my insurance changes. Additionally, the wonderful dental hygienists (who you spend the most time with nowadays) are kind and gentle. I have super sensitive teeth and they take extra time and are always mindful of my experience.

The older woman who is their receptionist seemed extremely put out and inconvenienced when I discovered our dental care provider had changed due to a job change. I am not going back, and I am canceling all appointments for my wife and my child. You should step the customer service up.

I had been scared of dentists since my horrible childhood experiences with them, back in Russia. When I found Doctor Zavattaro, it was a true blessing. Not only he is the brilliant dentist but he also understands medical trauma, and is being extremely soothing, calming and understanding with people like me suffering from dentophobia. The only problem is that I am self-employed, and it' impossible to find individual dental insurance plan that covers all expensive services. Otherwise, i would see Doctor Zavattero and his wonderful staff on regular basis.

It's always a good experience when I come here. (As good as going to a dentist can be!) I feel safe and the quality of care is bar none. They are very patient and willing to indulge me in providing as much info as I need to be comfortable. It's because of Dr. Cox that I am no longer a dentaphobe!

It's really an elusive and wonderful delight to find a health care provider who gets everything right. from the front desk staff to the hygienist to the dental asst, Pia to the remarkable Dr. Cox, they are, to a person, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I rarely have to wait when I show up for my appointment more than a few minutes. they have free parking. Dr Cox's professionalism, experience and concern has made going to the dentist enjoyable and unscary.

Dr. Cox is a kind, gentle dentist in Oakland. I went to her because I asked around about a thorough and pain-free dentist, and several of my friends recommended her highly. I'm not used to seeing such passion when asking for a recommendation. Now I understand. Dr. Cox and her staff are competent, friendly and do excellent dental work. I've had some really painful dental work done in the past, and Dr. Cox was understanding of my concerns, and very patient and gentle. I didn't feel any pain at all. If you are looking for a dentist in Oakland, check her out.

These guys rock. Simple, clean, fast. Kim, aside from being a fabulous, easy going dental assistant, is also an insurance whiz. She dealt with dingus me ("I haz no idea wat is my insurinse?") and found out everything my plan covered, without me having to lift a finger. Talk about an angel. Dr. Zavaterro is a great dentist with wonderful bedside manner.

He answered my questions thoroughly and politely, when most dentists just look at me exasperatedly when I tell them I want to know what's going on inside my mouth. He has loads of patience, and listens to you. These guys handle control freaks (moi) pretty well. I can't recommend them enough.

Chipped off the bottom of my front tooth within the first two weeks in the Bay Area. Went to Zavattero on a whim hoping for the best. Amazing experience and have found a permanent go to as far as dental work. My teeth look better than they did even before the chip. Can't thank him enough. Awesome guy too.

I've been going to Dr. Z. since I was a kid (I'm in my mid 30s). He and the staff are wonderful and would recommend this office to anyone.

Just have to tell everyone that Dr. Cynthia Cox has been a literal lifesaver time and time again with nearly every member of our family. She is extremely compassionate and technically brilliant - we've had a number of difficult dental problems and she ALWAYS not only solves the difficulties but comes up with novel approaches that have saved us both pain and (when possible) excessive expense.

We feel really fortunate to have found her through a friend when we moved here six years ago from Naples, Florida. The whole staff is friendly and helpful. I trust her completely in view of all the calls Dr. Cox has made in various situations- she always turns out to have been right. in an almost supernatural way. and best of all, she REALLY cares!

Dr. Cox and the whole staff at Pacific Dental is great. A coworker recommended them when in the middle of the day at work my front tooth just feel out (it was a cap from a childhood playground accident). Needless to say I was traumatized and my coworker called her cell and she had me come right over. She was so thoughtful and understanding and she figured out what had happened and fixed my tooth right up.

They also have nitrous (which is a bit expensive but worth it when your in for a long procedure), and work with your insurance company so you don't have to fill out any paperwork. I am so thankful I found Dr. Cox, she makes going to the dentist so much less painful.

After reading all the reviews for Dr Cox, I am very proud to say: I WAS HER YOUNGEST PATIENT EVER. That's right, I've been going to Dr. Cox since I first got teeth! Haha I beat you, everyone else! I win! Ok enough bragging. down to bih-ness. First and foremost, I hate the dentist, but Dr. Cox is really pleasant and she actually makes it really enjoyable. (kinda).

She never gets on my case TOO BAD for not flossing. The only thing I never get is why she always asks me questions with my mouth full of her stainless steel tools. And the only thing I don't get more than that is how she understands my full-mouth grumbled answers. Anyway Dr Cox, I'll come see you soon. I've just been busy hiding. I mean going to work and school. For a dentist, I definitely reccomend her.

Dr. Cox and her assistant (whose name I am failing to remember at the moment) are amazing. Dr. Cox is consistently patient, respectful and always explains what she is doing while working, which I greatly appreciate. Plus, she even dabs Burt's balm on your lips to keep them from getting chapped! I continue to recommend friends and colleagues to her and the efficient and friendly staff at Pacific Dental.

A friend suggested that I call Dr. Cynthia Cox in Oakland (near Neldham's Bakery) for an appointment. I was very impressed with how I was treated over the phone. Ann was willing to answer all my questions and even checked with my dental insurance to confirm what I would have to pay out of pocket. My first visit went very well. Dr. Cox really listened to everything I told her.

She went over every detail of the intake questionnaire. Pia, her assistant, is very warm and friendly. She is also a lightening quick x-ray tech and made biting down on all those odd hoobie-dobbies almost bearable. Dr. Cox actually did my first cleaning and I love my shiny, new smile!
