True orthodontic emergencies are rare, but when they occur we are available to you. As a general rule, you should call our office when you experience severe pain or have a painful appliance problem you can't take care of yourself. We'll be able to schedule an appointment to resolve the problem. You might be surprised to learn that you may be able to solve many problems yourself temporarily until you can get to our office. If there is a loose piece that you can remove, put it in a plastic bag or envelope and bring it with you to your next appointment.

We understand your child's need to receive treatment in a practice where he or she feels comfortable, safe, and welcome. Please feel free to schedule an appointment, or stop by for a complete tour of our practice. You will get to meet our team, walk through our office and treatment areas, and learn more about the treatments we provide. We have three convenient locations to serve all of Ocean County and the surrounding communities.

Sometimes brushing is not enough, especially when it comes to those hard-to-reach spots in a child's mouth. It is difficult for a toothbrush to reach between the small cracks and grooves on teeth. If left alone, those tiny areas can develop tooth decay. Sealants give your child's teeth extra protection against decay and help prevent cavities. Dental sealants are applied and harden in the deep grooves on the tooth's surface. When a tooth is sealed, the tiny grooves become smooth, and are less likely to harbor plaque.

Although any age is a good time to receive orthodontic treatment, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children receive an orthodontic evaluation by age seven. This enables an orthodontist to monitor growth patterns and correct problems sooner rather than later. It's worthwhile to visit a trained orthodontist for your care. Orthodontists have received extra years of specialty education and training in tooth movement, growth and development, and bite function. Our orthodontic specialists work closely with all our pediatric dentists, which allows us to provide high-quality comprehensive care.
