Services
My whole life I grew up around dentistry. My father was an orthodontist in South County for over 30 years. My cousin is an endodontist (root canal specialist) in North County, and my three brothers are also dentists. Because many of my father's friends were also dentists, I was surrounded by discussions of dentistry, which interested me so much I couldn't wait for the next time I could visit one of their practices just to watch how they worked.
Nikodem Dental Care is always looking for experienced dentists, hygienists, assistants, and lab technicians who are looking for an opportunity with a growing, patient and team centered practice. We have practices throughout Missouri and we are currently looking to grow throughout the Midwest.
Rebuilding your smile should be a satisfying experience. Thank you for letting us brighten your future. After your remaining natural teeth are removed, your denture is placed directly in the mouth so you will never have to appear in public without teeth. Because of differences in tissue response, small adjustments may be needed as dentures "settle in".

This is the first Yelp review I have ever written, but I wanted to warn others not to go to Nickodem. I have only had 1 cavity in my whole life. I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned, but they refused telling my I needed a $1,000 procedure to have a deep cleaning, stating I have the beginning stages of periodontal disease. I agreed with many of the other reviews saying they obviously focus on money and not the patients.

I went to another dentist after that visit that said it was not a needed procedure. Crystal told me they would be sued for doing a regular cleaning, which is not true. This place is just a money grab and don't waste your time. They should be sued for insurance fraud.

These people have the patience of Job! They are doing an excellent job helping my 87 year old mother in law who has memory problems with her beautiful new dentures. Their prices are fair and they are caring and accommodating. My mother in law has had multiple dental issues and extractions and the staff in this office have gotten her through each step with kindness, compassion, and very little pain. We're pretty sure Suzanne has a Halo!

Careful. They have you pay in full before any work is done (understandable) then tell you to wait 6 months before going back to be fitted for permanent partials. Well, what they don't tell you is that, 6 months later, now you have to have ANOTHER exam and x-ray done because it had been 6 months which means another cost for exam and x-ray that, for whatever reason, is not billed with the original cost even though everything else is.

If you KNOW that your client is going to have to have another cost, why not add that into the original cost especially since they won't proceed with the impressions for the permanent partials unless the exam is done. Oh, and, temporary partials are what you pay for but the permanent are complimentary? We were told this after deciding NOT to get the permanent upper partial done and asked if there would be money refunded. Disappointed and frustrated that they run their office this way. Also, when you call to question said bill, they get very defensive and hateful.

When I was told they would just send my account to corporate, I asked for the corporate number. She absolutely refused to give me that number and told me "I have the number but I'm not giving it to you". We will no longer use this office. I prefer honest, upstanding businesses, not those that throw extra costs in after charging a lot of money already.

This place focuses more on money than developing relationships with its clients. I was rushed through and given more information about prices than the actual procedures. These people don't care about you. Some of staff is okay but a couple of them were extremely rude. They didn't bother to tell me when someone called in and they need to push my appointment out.

Very unprofessional and again, doesn't treat you like family, instead you'll feel like a number. I went to a different practice and am now a lot happier and healthier.

I couldn't be more pleased and satisfied with the staff and the service I've received every time I visit Nicodem Dental. In the past going to the dentist was something I would not be looking forward to and quite nervous about. Nicodem Dental has certainly changed that. Thank you very much.

Our first trip there was awesome! Everyone greeted us as soon as we walked in the door and they were all smiling. I took my twin boys (6 years old), the ladies asked them about their plans for summer and how their school year was. Hayley and Chrystal took them back and cleaned their teeth and they explained to the boys what they were going to do! Katie was also amazing she did my teeth and explained everything that needed to be done for following appointments! I would highly recommend taking your families to see them!

The staff, itself, is quite friendly BUT Dr. Hill is horrendous. I have a phobia of dentists so it takes a lot of courage for me to go to one. He entered the room without even looking at me and said "I'm Dr. Hill" and immediately went to the computer. He immediately looked at my x-ray and said I needed 14 crowns. When I questioned him, he took his gloves off without even looking in my mouth, and through the gloves at the dental hygienist. He said it would be best if I sought out another dentist. And left the room. I didn't even get the cleaning I went in for.

Chrystal was great she explained everything in detail and was very patient. She also took her time with me so I understood what she was doing and how to improve my dental care. Thank you Chrystal

Great place! Great people! I was having issues with a tooth ache with no insurance. They got me in, figured out the problem, and had my wisdom pulled in less than an hour. The price was very reasonable. That was my biggest concern with no insurance. Everyone was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable. Nothing but good things to say.

After my long term dentist retired, I realized how difficult it is to find a good dentist. After getting consultations from two other dentists, I left both of those offices overwhelmed and in tears. I am so thankful I found Dr. Hill. He made me feel comfortable and eased the anxiety I had. I have had to get some pretty intensive dental work completed & I'm so thankful that Dr.

Hill and his team were with me every step of the way. From the first time I set my appointment with Anna Bone, I received the best customer service. Shelby, the assistant who worked with Dr. Hill went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I'm so thankful I found this dental office! I highly recommend!

Great place and people to work with. It has only been 2 wks since I got my teeth pulled and dentures put it. Gums still healing and will be having several more appointments for adjustments etc, but my teeth look great. I would highly recommend this Springfield office. PS. My mother got her last set of dentures from here over 25 yrs ago.

Best dentist I have ever been to! Everyone is just SO nice and it is always a pleasant experience. I actually look forward to my appointments, because not only do they do a wonderful job cleaning my teeth, but I enjoy talking to my hygienist.

I really like this dental office. They are always polite and take care of my dental needs, quickly and gently. With my insurance, they have very reasonable rates. They also take care of a stray cat, that just had kittens.

I'm so thankful I found this dental office. I have had extensive dental work over the last year & Im so happy I chose Dr. Hill to do it. He has helped to ease my anxiety about going to the dentist. Great team from the front office staff to the back.

I had to make an appointment for an emergency dental problem. They were able to fit me in. Everyone was pleasant and professional. I had read another post that the client complained they told her the charges in the middle of the visit, not at the end. I was glad they did. That way if there was anything you didn't want done, you could say it before hand and not have to argue charges after the fact. All in all, a good experience.

I am sure they get tired of answering the same questions all day long to their many patients. The people at the counter were friendly and helpful. The dental staff answered most of my questions without my asking. I like the fact they had a form for my doctor to fill out. People assume you know things when you really don't. Explanations are always good as to why thus and thus is said or done. Having teeth pulled when you are on blood thinners is a scary thing because of the possibility of having a stroke. Also, concerns about dentures fitting and changing the looks of a patient are something i addressed. I felt the lady was more assuring than ones I had spoken to before.

I wouldn't recommend Nikodem Dental to anyone. I had an awful experience. Rose was incredibly rude, rushing me through the process. The energy felt pushy and cold. It was obvious that the focus was on money, not patients. She talked more about money/prices than the actual reasons I was there. Definitely NOT a warm, friendly vibe. For any of my lgbtq friends out there, find a different dentist.

Rose was rude with me upon arrival about the fact that my legal name doesn't match my appearance. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. They can do better. There's nothing wrong with treating people with respect, especially when they're giving you money in exchange for a service. I went to a different dentist after this and had an excellent experience about 15 min down the road with a much more professional dentist practice.

Check them out in my reviews if you need a GREAT dentist! Leave this pathetic excuse for a dental practice in the dust. Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that they rescheduled the time of an appointment without letting me know. One of their people called out of work and they didn't bother to let me know. Upon arrival, they acted confused and asked if I could wait another hour. Nope. This place doesn't care about your time or your teeth. Again, many other dentists in St. Louis that are amazing. Go elsewhere. All the best!

Been going to this Nikodem office for more then 8 years. Went yesterday all new people. No consideration to call me and let me know that the lady that has cleaned my teeth there for years had left. Then I could have decided if I wanted the appointment or not. New hygienist does gum test tells me I need this special cleaning that my insurance does not cover. Tells me she can't do a regular cleaning it would be illegal.

Then dentist (new also) comes in and tells me the same story and also I have bad filling. I ask him if he realized that he was looking at the same X-ray they took 6 months ago not the one they did when I came into the office yesterday. Then try's to switch over. Last time there that filling was fine. Seems like just trying to line there pockets with services not needed. Lady that I guess runs place now tells me that they were doing a disservice to me before. Not sure but I believe disservice was the way they treated me yesterday.

Been go to this place for two years. I have a new hygienist this time. She was rough and unorganized. Juice kept running down behind my neck. She gave me a fluoride treatment that I didn't ask for. It was done without my consent. I found out when I checked out I had to pay copay for the treatment.

I went with my granddaughter, age 25, to Nickodem Dental to get XRays and cleaning. I purchased Gateway Dental so that she could have access to dental care. It had been 3 years since she had had her teeth cleaned at Nickodem. The hygienist said that her teeth looked good, no cavities, but she refused to clean her teeth saying that she had too much plaque on back molars and she needed deep cleaning for $1300.

My granddaughter does not have too much plaque, stains, or bad teeth by any sort of imagination. She has better oral hygiene than 95% if the population. She doesn't smoke, drink, or even drink coffee. Of course that course of action was totally out of the question! The receptionists are very friendly and courteous but this hygienist was a joke.

She even informed her that she had gingivitis after stabbing her with the tartar hook (yes it hurt) and caused her to bleed. She also tried to sell her an Oral B toothbrush. We were both so disappointed. Dental care CANNOT be all about upsale. Absolutely ridiculous care. Young adults can't afford dental care when they don't have dental insurance.

Now we get to go somewhere else and pay for a full cleaning that they couldn't do today. Unfortunately, she won't be going back nor will any of my family ever again.

Dr. Raymond Nikodem and his staff performed an outstanding transformation in my son. Giving him back his smile and self esteem. Dr. Jerry Hill was excellent and the staff told us what to expect and it was exactly as the had said. Be confident if you choose Nikodem Dental. Thanks again!

I never leave reviews for anything, but i feel obligated to leave one for this business, particularly for Dr. Lucas Meyer. Everyone in the office seems friendly and pleasant, but my experience with this doctor wasn't so. I came in to get a cavity fixed. After five shots, i wasn't numb enough when he started to work so he stopped and wanted me to come back another day to go through the same thing and try again.

He did not give it enough time for the shots to work because when he left the room i told the dental assistant that i was numb enough now and for him to come back and get started. I believe in my case in just takes me extra time to get numb compared to other patients. He refused to do so only because from what i could gather it was 4:30 and he wanted to leave since they close at 5.

He is very rushed and i just didn't feel like he care one bit about a patient of his. He did not have the decency to come in and let me know himself or give me a moment of his time. I left the office in tears and that is not an experience anyone should have from someone they are supposed to trust with their dental health or anything else for that matter. Now my face/head/eye and everything on the right side is completely numb with nothing to show for it.

The front staff here is very unfriendly. When you call there or they call you to remind you of an appointment, they are always very cold and rude sounding. If there is one thing that will drive me away from a place, it is rude or unfriendly customer service. My dentist tho, Dr. Hill, was amazing! He was always so nice and would always make you smile!

His hygienist was also always amazing, and nice. I only wanted to see her after the other couple hygienists I had before her. I had a filling come out a couple weeks after it was filled, and when I went back, they had no record of giving me a filling because the other hygienist never recorded it. They also would not remove my molar tooth that was badly infected because they kept pushing me to get a root canal instead which would have costed over $900 with my insurance versus $24 to remove it. I was very happy when my new insurance had my old dentist on their plan. I will never go back to Nicodem dental. I had nothing but bad experiences there.

Dr, Meyer is the one who examined me and he seemed very unfriendly and wasn't listening to me, what I was saying was wrong obviously is the way I felt. He diagnosed me with periodontal disease and said I have 4 cavities a cracked tooth that he wanted to crown and said nothing of an infection. After a second opinion I now know that all of my teeth have 3mm pockets which is not considered periodontal disease and they didn't even check my pockets they just went off of the X Rays and that the true source of my pain is an infection in my gums which I have been given an antibiotic rinse for and am feeling much better and plan to have the two cavities that I really do have filled at a much more respectable dental practice.

I feel like Dr Meyer is a live for the weekend, don't care what you need or say type of dentist who just wants to sell you something you do not need and go about his day. He is not a good dentist at all in my opinion if even one thing he told me would have been true I may not be leaving this review. Beware people if you decide to visit Nikodem Dental I would request a different dentist for sure.

I thought I was going to see a dentist not some goofball trying to sell me something i did not need good thing I went and got a second opinion who knows how bad my infection could have gotten.

I never really liked going to the dentist. So much so that I went years without going. I read reviews of this place and it's so close to my house I figured I would suck it up and give it a shot. I have been here 3 times now (finally staying faithful to my every 6 month appointments) and I no longer dread going to the dentist. From the front desk staff, to the dental hygienist, and the dentist that does the final look-over, I have zero complaints.

Everyone is really nice. My dental hygienist is Shawna (not sure if that's the correct spelling, sorry!) and she's great. She was very understanding of my anxiety about the whole situation the first time I was there and made me feel very comfortable. Even if I move, I'll continue going here. Once you find a good dentist that makes you not hate going. you stick with them!

I don't have much of a choice due to my dental plan and they are my assigned dentist. They are nice enough but what I absolutely hate is that they will demand payment while you are in the dentist chair. Make you get up to go pay before they do the work or be right in your face as you get up. This is just very low class behavior to me. Do they have people trying to run out or something?

My insurance covers most things anyway. The dental assistant will spend the majority of your appt running around to make sure they charge you every penny they can instead of actually attending to you. And don't get me started on the likelihood that they will talk about removing teeth. Teeth that don't need to go but they are very proud of their denture service. My last appointment they stuck me in a chair that had a big hole in the material, You would think with all their denture money they could fix or replace that!

I have been to the south county office five times ( cleaning, temp crown, crown, crown put back on, crown put back on a second time). By far the least friendly Dr.'s office of any kind I have ever been in. The most recent visit came after my crown came off a second time. This happened on a Saturday morning so I called the emergency number at 10am and again at 10:45am.

Someone from the office finally called me back at 11:30am. I was told nobody could see me on the weekend because the Dr.'s only work Monday through Friday (why have an on call if nothing will be done for the patient)? I had my crown replaced on Tuesday with little feelings or concerns from the assistant or Dr. The Dr. was leaning on the rinse and soaked my pants and the chair and did not even recognize or apologize for the incident.

I was handed 2 paper towels. I tried to meet with the office manager but was told she was busy so I left my number. She never called me. I went to the office on Friday and she was not working. I went back to the office today (Monday) and was told she is busy but could see me next Monday at 2pm. I will make my appointment with her next Monday 3-31-14. Hope she can find the time to squeeze me in. Good luck to all who use this office.

This place has changed for the worst. The office manager is the rudest woman I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. The service I received on the day of my appointment was horrible. They had that wrong chart up and did not realize this until after talking about xrays and problems that didn't exist. THEN, when my own chart was finally pulled up, the dentist didn't even do my filling.the nurse did.

I never saw the dentist again; he didn't even check her work. When I called to share how dissatisfied I was, the office manager talked down to me like I was a dog and offered me nothing. She basically said the dentist shouldn't have to explain what he's doing.what I WAY overpaid for. I wouldn't go here unless you want to be offended and treated like a lesser species.

My experience with the people at this office has been nothing short of awful. I would never recommend this dentist office to anyone. OFFICE MANAGER IS EXTREMELY RUDE. Does not care about your personal life and ability to pay for work. They give each patient a "treatment plan." They tried numerous times to talk us into procedures and even went so far as to do them anyway on my brother and then demand payment, after we specifically said NOT TO.

After we told them we couldn't afford certain aspects of their "treatment program" they very rudely told my mother to either do what they say or find another dentist. If you go here and they try to talk you in to a Perio Scaling, IT IS A SCAM. I researched this procedure and talked to another dentist about it. If they do not measure your teeth for the procedure and take specific X-rays for it, it's a rip of and not necessary.

I know several people who have gone to this dentist and they recommend the perio scaling to everyone. One person couldn't even get them to explain properly what exactly it was when he saw it on his bill! Money hungry. And don't even think about talking to one of the dentists. They will not let you talk to anyone but the snobby office manager. Awful place.
