You feel like you're one of the family when you visit this office. The front receptionist is warm and friendly and the hygienists are great and very professional. Dr. Smith is a fabulous Dentist that explains everything so you know exactly what to expect. TOTALLY painless dentistry. I highly recommend this office for all your dental needs.

What a great experience at the Art of Dentistry in South Park Charlotte today. I now have a very complete plan moving forward for all my dental needs. April did an amazing deep cleaning, I'll be back.

Art Dentistry have been providing dental care for me over 20 years; the best dental service provider ever! Great healthcare personnel, they have helped me to over come my dental-fear as child. Warm welcomed and relaxing Atmosphere.

If I had to go anywhere to get my teeth drilled into so to repair cavities and then filled, I'd absolutely go to Southpark Art Dentistry. Everyone had a genuine smile on their face, but not like a creepy dentist office just a happy one. Fortunately, I'll be back for a number of additional fillings so I'll be putting my words to the test.

Update: 03/28/2022 Under new management and they haven't skipped a beat. It's not the same without him but the staff are still the same and the new dentist is just as great. They don't make you feel like they are trying to upsell you on anything to get done immediately what can just 'be monitored' for now. Still great service and friendliness. They really work with you and listen to your concerns.

If you're debating about going, don't. They are still awesome. __________________________ I love this going to this place and have been going for years. I saw a review about the owner talking down to his staff and the owner replying that patient may have actually heard the staff talk down to him. I had to giggle myself because unfortunately the patient must not have just understood the relationship or the banter that was going on in the office.

The staff there have been consistent because the owner is correct, the staff there are awesome and they couldn't be any friendlier. They are like family. The patient needs to lighten up and see the atmosphere in that office for what it is. I highly recommend anyone looking for a dentist's office to go here.

Southpark Art Dentistry is by far the best office in Charlotte! Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I am so happy with Dr. Smith's impeccable work. She is so easy to talk to, explains your procedure and she is a perfectionist in everything she does. They truely care about everyone that walks through their door. Heather goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly and April and Erin, in my opinion are the best In their field. I highly recommend Southpark Art Dentistry.

Bought a Groupon for 2 visits. The day before my 2nd visit they canceled my appointment saying they were no longer using Groupon. Then I was unable to get my money back since I bought it as a 2 visit package from Groupon and I used 1. I guess this is how they ART going make there ex money this year by taking money for undeliverable services. And to think I was actually going start using them after my Groupon.

To start off I had an early morning dentist appointment which I loved. Thank you for getting me in and out of there quickly. ERIN was super wonderful as a hygienist enjoyed our conversation that we had time to talk. She did an awesome job on my teeth they feel wonderful and look pretty as always. We found a few cavities which we're not surprised. But overall had a wonderful time being a new patient at the Dennis office. Excited to go back and get a couple cavities fixed and looking forward to my next cleaning with Erin!

ART Dentistry was pretty amazing. I had never sat in a massage chair before while having my teeth cleaned, nor had I seen a television mounted on the ceiling where I was staring for a while. Those certainly make the time go by faster. The staff was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back again!

I always enjoy chatting with the Hygienist. There should be a little chat time allotted April is extremely professional and equally Kind and Generous. The staff is always friendly, April and Erin always do a great job of making me feel comfortable and are thorough with my cleanings. I would definitely recommend them, excellent service.

I was very anxious going in to have some teeth repaired. Everyone from the receptionist to the techs to the dentist were wonderful! He kept me laughing and relaxed while doing his work. I would definitely recommend them!

It's been the best biggest office and I've been to since I've been in Charlotte living which is all my life and I would love to go back there if I have the money to pay the bill I love the people there I love the hygienist at work on my teeth and clean them it was wonderful I'm sorry that your doctor is sick I hope he gets to feeling better the beaches cancer like I did

We had to find a new dentist due to switching insurance plans and I chose Art Dentistry based on their reviews and location. I managed to get my husband a last minute appointment for a chipped tooth, the receptionist was very accommodating and got him in quickly. Well he's just returned from that appointment and was really happy with his experience today!

That's a big thing for him, since he's typically quite sceptical, especially with dentists. (We're from England, and let's face it, the Brits are hardly known for their pearly white teeth :)

I have to say I have been going to ART Dentistry for over 7 years based on a recommendation. The staff there is amazing and has been what has kept me there for so long, Erin and Heather are caring and wonderful. Dr. Martin is the let down of the group. He doesn't acknowledge you when he comes into the room, he rarely talks to you a all and overall he has very poor chair side manner.

The breaking point was when my 16 year old daughter went in to have a cavity filled. I went in with her (this was during COVID) and explained to Heather at the front desk that she was very nervous and then went to my car to wait once she was taken back. About 30ish minutes later my daughter walked out and I noticed she was crying. She said Dr. Martin never acknowledged her while she was in the chair, he and his assistant talked about other topics during her procedure and he pulled on her mouth to turn her head in his direction.

I was furious and immediately called and provided this feedback. I received apologies from Heather but NOTHING further from anyone else at the practice. I offered to provide feedback to Dr. Martin personally if he was interested. We are DONE!

The reception staff was super friendly and the hygienist was one of the best I've ever had! She was on point when she told me what issues the dentist would most likely bring up. The dentist said almost nothing when he came in. I don't even recall him introducing himself. After a few minutes he snapped off his gloves, mumbled that, unfortunately, I needed a lot of work, that the hygienist would explain--and left the room. Maybe it's because I was using a Groupon?

My hygienist was fabulous! I had a mini panic attack on the way there, but she calmed my nerves once I got into the dentist chair. The chair has a gentle massage setting and a TV placed directly above for distraction. She was so gentle and it did not hurt at all (this was a first for me!). It had been over a year and a half since my last cleaning, and she did such a wonderful job. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks guys!

Dr Martin and his staff are wonderful. Very helpful and professional with a bit of humor when needed. I find Dr. Martin and his team to be the best dentist I've ever had. I have gone to Dr. Martin for over 25 years, he is the best and his staff is exceptional. I highly recommend! Jim J

This dentist is getting 2 stars due to his assistant Erin the hygienist being wonderful! Dr. Martin was unprofessional. He came in to greet me and had his dental magnifying glasses on during our introduction and did not shake hands with me. He diagnosed a root canal, crown, 2 filling and replacement of a metal filling. I have seen two other dental professionals and consulted with a third. 2 other dentists and an Endodontics specialist all agreed that I have zero cavities and only places to watch over time.

I need a crown and then see how the root is doing before a root canal. Everyone additionally agreed that replacing the silver filling was only cosmetic and could cause the tooth to be compromised replacing. Stay away from this dentists. They also call out your DOB and personal info loud right in the same area you wait to be seen to verify your insurance.

So you are waiting to be seen and the front desk receptionist is verifying insurance and speaking loud over her phone and saying your DOB, Social Security Number, and medical ID number for everyone to hear and write down. Awful experience.

When I made my initial consultation appointment, I was told to expect and hour. I thought that was long just for a consult, but still didn't schedule my next appointment until 2 hours after. I Waited over 40 to be called back for my appointment. Once I was back there, it took another 30 minutes or so to see the Dr. I arrived at 11:50 and had to tell them at 1:30 I had to leave soon or I would miss my next appointment. They seemed friendly & knowledgeable, but I can't spend this much time at a dentist office.

My family have been a patient for 18 years, always had great results. I always notice Dr. Martin quizzing his staff - what is this instrument? How long do we time this adhesive? What is the mix on nitrous? They review training constantly throughout the day. I am more interested in a well trained shop that works as a team. Dr. M does not do a lot of idle banter with the patients, but you have your mouth full anyway.

Dr. Martin has been my dentist for 19 years. He and his staff are very knowledgeable and they take time to understand individual needs. I enjoy that my appointments are always on time and completed promptly. It's always a pleasure to visit for a cleaning! Everyone within Art Dentistry is incredibly friendly and I'm always greeted with a smile! That makes a big difference!

I have been going to Dr. Martin for several years. I always have a great experience. Dr. Martin is very knowledgeable and feel like my teeth are in great hands. Erin is a wonderful hygienist and so personable. Heather is so prompt and cheerful at the front desk and accommodating if I need to reschedule. I never have to wait and am able to get a cleaning done in a timely manner.

At my last appointment, I had an unexpected conflict the morning of my appointment and was so thankful they easily fit me in later that day. It was also my 2 year old son's first time coming in with me so we could "introduce" him to the dentist and cleaning process. Everyone was so nice to him and he can't wait to go back to see Ms. Erin! So grateful for the extra personal touch!

Nope, nope, nope. Just nope. 1 star for hygienists. Condescending and demeaning. Worst Novocain shots I've EVER had. ALL fillings had to be ground for bite issues (have never had that issue before) and 2 were replaced with crowns after a very short time. Blamed one on another dentist (who I've gone to for 10+ years) that performed emergency crown after painful filling issue. I'm so sad as I'd not had any "comprehensive" dental issues before seeing him.

I have exhausted all insurance funds for the year and desperately need a root canal on lower crown. Waiting 6 mos for new insurance coverage year. JUST DON'T do it, no matter the convenience of the location for Southpark area. My hygienists have been fabulous. I meant they were the reason to give any stars at all. They are why I returned as many times as I did.

Still have not one bad thing to say about this dentist and his practice. Excellent work for a great price, and the girls are so helpful. Everyone in that office including front desk was able to explain my treatment plan and help me schedule my appointments. Quick and painless and my new crown is ten times better than the existing one my previous dentist placed! Check them out!

Starting from the receptionist to the Dentist, the process is customer driven. The receptionist is personal and understanding. She is always smiling even in her phone messages / communication. The dental hygienists are very polite and efficient. They take the time to explain procedures, next steps, and home care. Dr. Martin spends time with the patient describing the work and expected outcome.

I have had a cavity filled and while Dr. Martin gave me the anesthetic I did not even feel the shot! The practice is very up to date with massaging chairs, televisions in the rooms, and they even offered me a blanket! Dr. Martin and his staff are very thorough, the best cleaning I have ever had! Could not have asked for better service!

I have been going to ART Dentistry for years. Dr. Martin has proven time and again to be a fantastic dentist. I know I am going to get top notch work from a dentist who will settle for nothing less. The front desk person is always friendly and greets me with a hello and a smile. All of the hygienists that I have had have each been friendly and very good.

The office is very pleasant and it is always clean with a modern feel. The chairs give a subtle massage and you can even watch TV while getting a cleaning or other work done. I have recommended this practice to many of my coworkers. I look forward to many more years of going to ART Dentistry.

I visited Art Dentistry in January. The hygienist was welcoming, friendly, and did a great job making me feel comfortable (I have a lot of anxiety around dental visits). Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Dr. When he came to do his exam there was no 'hey, how are you?' Or 'nice to meet you'. Strictly business. I think I got MAYBE 5 words out of him.

Once he was done with his exam, he got up and left. He did not take any time to explain any further treatment necessities, but instead passed it off to the hygienist to answer (at least she was nice, but it would have been nice to hear it from the doctor). Can't deny that they did a good job, but the bedside manner is lacking and that's just something I can't get past. I won't be back.

Dr. Martin is the most arrogant person I've ever met in the medical profession. My initial x-rays and exam with his dental hygienist and who found 1000's of dollars of needed dental work, from root canals, crowns, extractions and six cavities etc. Then Dr Martin walked in and looked at her recommendations, agreed with them and then asked me if I have any questions, I said yes, then he said.well ask her (hygienist) and walked out of the office.

I then stated to the Hygienist that this amount of work is an incredible amount and I need a second opinion, but I will authorize the cleaning for the following week. As I drove home, I kept thinking of Dr Martin's arrogance that I as a new patient who he has never met before, would not answer my question(s) and deferred me to his hygienist, especially when there are 1000's of dollars at stake.

I decided not only am I getting a 2nd opinion but b/c of his level of arrogance and how condescending his behavior was, it made me think I should canx my cleaning with his office. The follow day his staff (Heather) called me and left me a voicemail and canceled my cleaning appointments for the following week and further stated that b/c the Hygienist told Dr Martin I want a 2nd opinion, that Mr Martin feels that I don't have confidence in his opinion and I am no longer welcome at their clinic (yes I kept the voicemail as it's my hope it goes viral). Interestingly enough, 1) He wouldn't answer my questions and told me to talk to his hygentist and 2) Why would I trust him with my health and 1000's of dollars when I only met him once and for 10 seconds and 3) Every medical profession states and supports 2nd opinions. Yet, this arrogant and condescending dentist with an ego the size of Texas will refuse you treatment if you ask for a 2nd opinion or challenge either he or his Hygienist with the word WHY or the phrase "help me understand why".

So I did get a 2nd opinion and it turns out after a new set of x-rays, that my new dentist simply could not find four of the cavities that Dr Martin's hygienist said I had (that Dr. Martin) also confirmed. I actually had to give the new dentist Dr Martin's treatment plan to show where Dr Martin said I had the cavities. My current Dentist looked again and said the other cavities he has documented simply do not exist.

So good riddance and the fact that he's offended over a patient asking for a 2nd opinion is just down right disgusting. Also, check him out on healthgrades.com where his practice is rated below the national average.

The shame of it is that I understand Dr Martin does beautiful work. That's why I drove 40 minutes from Concord to see him. But I will never be back. Chairside manner to patients, at least to this patient, counts. And while his staff that responds to negative reviews calls them "character attacks", it seems to me that if multiple people have remarked that Dr is rude.well, when there's smoke, there's fire.

I have visited the office twice, once for a hygiene appointment, and once to have a crown re-cemented. On both occasions I endured both his gruff manner to a patient (ME) and his berating of his staff. While waiting for him to come into the operatory to re-cement the crown on the second visit, I actually heard him grumbling "great, I love having to re-cement a crown on someone else's implant" as he was approaching.

And to top it off, he berated the assistant because she didn't get him the piece of articulating paper in the 1.5 seconds he gave her to do it. The staff is wonderful, and I truly feel badly that they endure this sort of treatment, and get verbally undressed in front of patients.

You will be so disappointed with this dentist. He is rough, rude and impersonal. I can take pain, but this dentist needs some lessons in bedside manner. Not only was he barking orders at me, he was rude to his assistants and I really felt bad for them. The office itself has a lot of neat "toys" but I am sure that is all courtesy of his patients. Save yourself the agony and avoid this dentist.
