For Dr. Bob Maley, practicing dentistry in his St. Paul neighborhood office is more than a profession; it's living his dream. My business, my family, and my community all come together in this place. Patients are friends and neighbors. It goes way beyond taking care of people's teeth, he says. As most residents will tell you, St. Paul is like a small town in a big city, and despite having the latest technologies and equipment, Dr. Maley prides himself on his clinic's small-town feel.Dr. Maley grew up in Minneapolis and moved across the river to get his undergraduate degree at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
Maley and Thomas feel privileged to work with the best dental care team EVER. You really need to meet them in person to know why we can brag like this, but here's a little description to give you a sense of what you can look forward to as a patient here. Val has been with us since 2003. She loves easing patients' anxieties about their dental care so they can get the most out of their time with us. She is thankful for the opportunity to meet so many interesting and wonderful people each day, as she helps them learn new and helpful oral care.
Your regular exam will take about 50 minutes. Each regular exam includes a professional cleaning, in which we will clean, polish, and rinse your teeth to remove any tartar and plaque that have built up on the tooth's surface. Visiting our office every six months gives you the chance to talk to the doctor about any questions you may have about your oral health.
Dr. Ben Thomas has always called St. Paul home and dreamed of serving the same community he grew up in. Joining Dr. Bob Family Dentistry in 2016 gave him that and more. Small' is unlike any other city. We value getting to know our healthcare providers and expect to see the same provider for years to come.

Now called Saint City Dental, Dr. Thomas is a gem of all the dentists and dental offices in the twin cities. I've been treated by many, and changed many dentists, but I'm staying with Ben till the end. He's kind, honest, skilled, patient, passionate and caring, always has the best interest for his patients. He also has the best staff, associates and offices.
He showed me his new wing for specialist service in the near future. Hurray! I can't wait for the new implant and new crowns. Thank you, Ben, now I can smile and laugh all I want, woohooo.

I cannot recommend Dr. Ben Thomas enough! He and his entire team is incredible! Before starting to see Dr. Thomas I had extreme dental anxiety which caused me to go years without a dental checkup. I have never experienced a dentist and team that was so non judgmental. He explains every step as he goes and makes sure you're comfortable every step of the way. I never thought I would say this but because of Dr. Thomas and his team I now look forward to going to the dentist! I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!

From the text reminders to the check in process and no-wait time to the efficient, professional 6 month cleaning - great experience all around. Office has responded to the pandemic with many upgrades in air exchanges and protocols to ensure patient and staff safety while continuing their commitment to caring for their patients. I've been with this office since BEFORE it opened in this location for a reason - a high standard of care putting the patient's health and needs first. (Shout out to Candace!)

As usual, great service from the hygienist and Dr. Thomas. Dr. Thomas took the time to point out something they're monitoring - not something for me to worry about, but paying attention to based on the x-rays. The two of us had our first appointments with Dr. Bob yesterday, and both of us felt that we finally found not only a great dentist, but a welcoming staff and a very comforting and COVID safe environment. I haven't viewed dental appointments as pleasurable before, but this one was, and we are looking forward to our return visits.

*Update* This is my second time here after switching dentists and I again left impressed. From scheduling to reminders before your appointment to warm friendly people at reception all the way through your cleaning and visit with the dentist. Everyone here is so nice and knowledgeable and seem to genuinely care. It really doesn't have to be an awful experience, you have a patient for life!
I had a horrible experience a couple weeks prior at Engelbrecht Family Dental. I knew I had to find a new dentist and from the moment I walked in the door until I left I felt comfortable. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the filling looks great! Thank you and I will continue to come back for all my dental needs.
