Major AnnaLee S. Kruyer, MA,DDS, FAGD is not your typical dentist. She has been featured on the Montel Williams show, she completed an extreme dental makeover on national television (the Tony Danza Show), recipient of many national awards (and others) in dentistry:

Dr. Kruyer is the mother of 6 children: Tynica was born on month after graduating with her Hon.B.Sc.degree. Jonathan was born 4 months after Dr. Kruyer received her MA in Clinical Neuro Psychology.

Our next move was to Milwaukee WI where AnnaLee received her D.D.S. cum laude, from the Marquette School of Dental Medicine. On the morning of Tuesday, September 8, 1998 AnnaLee was in dental school, that afternoon, Teresia was born. Friday afternoon, September 11, 1998, AnnaLee was back at school. Anica was born between 3rd and 4th year of dental school.

There was a betting pool as to how much time AnnaLee would take off from Dental School after Baby (Teresia) Kruyer would be born. One professor (based on prior experience with other female dental students) bet 2 years - her lab partner won (he was the only one who believed AnnaLee when she said she would take 1 week off) - there wasn't a betting pool for Baby (Anica) Kruyer.

Alpha Sigma Nu is a Jesuit Honor that starts with the top (scholastic) 15% of students graduating from Jesuit Universities. Then, based on their service to the community, profession and religion, the top 2% were indicted into the Society. Right after dental school, we (the whole family) drove to San Antonio TX where my wife received her OBC (Officer Basic Course) training. This was the largest class ever, which consisted of nurses, veterinarians, doctors, surgeons and dentists. AnnaLee was the Distinguished Honor Graduate.

We then moved to Fort Benning GA where my wife completed (and was the honor graduate of) her 1 year general dentistry residency. On to Fort Leonard Wood MO, where AnnaLee was soon to become the 3rd highest producing general dentist in the army (at that time). Fort Hood TX then pulled AnnaLee into the 502nd and deployed to Kuwait/Iraq in March of 2003. Our children were 2,4,6 and 8 years old. This experience was an extreme hardship and an amazing experience for all. She did dentistry (on our soldiers) in Sadam's Dental Chair (in the Green Zone), and was able to visit the ancient Babylonian Hanging Gardens, King Nebakanezer's throne room, and stand in the gate where king Darius asked Daniel if God had saved him from the Lions. AnnaLee returned from Iraq on her husband's birthday (Feb) in 2004. Shortly there after, dr. Kruyer moved to Las Vegas NV where we built her own dental practice from scratch.

On August 5th, 2006, AnnaLee received her Fellow from the AGD (Academy of General Dentists). Nationwide, only about 3% of dentists receive their fellow in the course of their career. Four months later, Iysha) was born. Iysha is special in her own way. All 4 previous children were conceived in the first month (or 2) that we tried. Iysha took 5 years of trying. The doctors don't know why, we don't know why. She just did. We turned an office into a nursery, and took Iysha to the practice with us. She stayed in the office for almost 2 years. As our patients would come for their dental appointments, instead of asking how ya doin Over half would ask Where's the baby!!! Can I PLEASE hold her?! I breaks my heart to see wannabe grandparents (people with 2,3 or 4grown children, and zero grandbabies).

They are the ones that almost come more to see our baby than to get their teeth worked on! Our newest baby, Tia is currently coming to the office with us! Dr. Kruyer has been on the Board for the Southern Nevada Dental Society for the past 2 years, and is currently serving her 3rd term. Dr. Kruyer has been an Adjunct instructor at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine for over 3 years. She is an Accreditation Candidate in the AACD, the only female dentist to achieve this level of expertise in the AACD in all of Nevada (and only 2 other male dentists in Nevada have currently achieved this level as well).

She has been part of the give kids a smile day multiple times, done free dental work for the one day dental program in our office and at the dental school, has donated to the give back a smile program through the AACD (restoring the broken and damaged teeth of survivors of domestic violence).
