Great place, professional atmosphere, good and friendly staff, would definitely recommend.

They do not check dental insurance. I had extremely negative experience with Dr. Stevens's because, even though I have dental insurance, they did not care to confirm the coverage. I was bullied and harrased to pay $600 cash for two cleaning sessions. I was heavily pregnant and we were living in evacuation due to Big Badin fires. This dentistry is the absolute worst place I have been to in the past 30 years of my life. I highly do not recommend them.

I went here for fillings and cleaning with Dr. Kevin ma and his assistant. He was very gentle, nice, caring, patient, and professional. Before I met Dr. Ma, I was so afraid to go see the dentist but Dr. Ma made me feel comfortable and I'm not afraid to see the dentist anymore. I would recommend He is one of the best dentists in Scott Vally. Ps. The receptionist lady was not that nice. if she was nice will make this dental office will be perfect!

Tooth problems are never fun. Dr Stevens and staff always make me comfortable and informed of my options.

Went here for re-filling of old fillings that fell out, and re-sealing of old fillings. John is heavy on the local anesthetic (which I appreciate) and also verbal about each step he is doing (in case you appreciate that, which I also do). He seems to have newer tools/techniques that don't rely on pure "gut feeling" from the dentist, allowing him to take less material out (not heavy handed on the drill). He pays attention to your well-being the whole time, and is thorough. Also has good taste in music around the office. Overall I recommend him.

The woman at the reception desk in charge of making sure dental insurance pays for the services completely messed everything up and did not care in the slightest, she just demanded post factum - "just pay us $500". So this woman, Sherry, who was supposed to check my dental insurance, etc, did not do so but surely did scheduled my cleaning appointment, and for some reason, they also scheduled a second cleaning, shortly after the first one.

Never in over 30 years have I had to pay $500 for any dental cleaning while having dental insurance. The issue was that the company we work for moved to a new dental plan, and during the moving to the new plan, the old insurance decided not to honor the claim for the first cleaning. In her usual manner, Sherry didn't give a hoot to check for anything, so the second cleaning was also not covered, or partially covered, so Stevens's office happily stuck me with this bill - pay $500 out of pocket. Basically, they blatantly do not care about such issues - they assume everyone is so very wealthy here in the Scotts Valley area, so Stevens and his crew just don't give a sh.t. Also, during the first dental examination, John Stevens, the dentist, was very inappropriately gawking at the lip injections I had done in LA, - as if he never saw anything like that.

The provinciality of his manner is horrible, and they all act like village idiots - it's still stone age at their office. I am now driving back to Gentle Dental office in Palo Alto, and an hour of driving is worth it, they are respectful and they work with people that are not provincial. Gentle Dental always, always checks insurance, and they don't do ugly, stupid, costly mistakes like the village idiot people here. Stay away, and I and my family will stay away from this horrible place forever. They should be out of business, they don't care at all.

I went to get a second opinion and I was treated warmly and professionally. I was given a good explanation about my options and i was educated along the way. I feel very comfortable in the treatment plan that was laid out and I am grateful they have room for me.

Everyone in the office is very nice from Sherry, to Perry to Dr Stevens. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Ma and Lexi. I let them know that I have sensitive teeth. Dr. Ma was very kind and courteous. He also educated me on order of oral care. Floss first, brush and finish with mouth rinse. He was very gentle, so gentle that I almost fell asleep 3x. It was like a spa date for my teeth. Can't wait until my next appointment :

Dr. Steven's saw me for an urgent extraction even though I wasn't his patient. Great service, knowledgeable, empathetic, and experienced. I wish he could always be my dentist but I don't live here.

I recently moved to Santa Cruz and needed to find a new Dentist. I found Dr. Stevens through Yelp and I'm happy to say that all of the raving reviews were true. Everyone was very friendly and super welcoming. I made an initial appointment as a new patience that includes some x-rays and a quick consultation. Unfortunately, you have to schedule the actual cleaning for another day, but considering how personable and professional everyone was, I don't mind. I really liked Dr. Stevens, very knowledgeable and great bed since manners. Looking forward to being a regular patient here.

I've had so very many dental issues in my past down to needing round the clock IV's for bone infections. I can't express the professionalism, care, and knowledge this team has show. Had a broken crown and Dr Stevens was able to see me within 2 hours of my call. 2 hours later left with a new permanent crown that fits perfectly. A pain free experience.

I went in today to have an old filling replaced, but when the dentist checked it out, he said it didn't need to be replaced. He did not even charge me. This was my first time here after leaving a dental office I had gone to for years. The old office ripped me off, replacing two filling that didn't even need it! I scheduled my twice yearly cleanings with this office and will continue here from now on. I got good service from everyone I'm pleased to say.
