I've been coming to J&D for a few years and I have never had a bad experience. Friendly, thorough staff and Dr. Herbert is great. The practice is very clean and their billing experience is much better than anywhere else I have been.

I have been using J&D for many years. Good service and expertise, and I have never felt that they have done anything other than look out for my best interests. \

I went in to have a same day crown put on a tooth. They took pictures of formed the crown baked it and installed it. To my astonishment it was a perfect fit no tweaking needed! I highly recommend J&d dental.

I hate the dentist- I didn't even realize how much I hated the dentist until recently. I chipped a tooth and needed to be seen asap. J&D Dental was able to see me within about a week to do X-rays. While doing some X-rays they found some fillings that also needed to be taken care of. I made another appointment for my cleaning and another appointment for the dental work.

They currently have a promo for new patients and I choose the teeth whitening. When it came time to do my dental work I had a complete panic attack with tears and everything. Staff were super sympathetic and understanding. We came up with a new plan to skip the fillings and just fix the chipped tooth as a way to for me to get familiar with them. They even offered a prescription to help with the anxiety.

Upon my return I felt extra cared for and appreciated that they explained everything they did beforehand. This place really listens and cares about the people coming in. This is our family's go to dentist now. I would highly recommend J&D.

I had a great appointment yesterday as usual! The staff here is excellent and friendly and the work is top notch. I had a crown and a filling during my appointment yesterday and felt no pain afterwards at all - - great work Dr. Herbert and Natalie! And shout out to Tucker for always doing great cleanings!

They always provides exceptional service. Today I had a temporary crown added, impressions taken, and in-house whitening. I had some type of local anesthetic (probably Lidocaine). After the initial injection they waited for the numbing to take before any additional injections were made, so I only felt one shot, how great is that.

I had a very pleasant experience with Tucker and Dr. Herbert. Tucker was very patient and spend a lot of time explain what needs to be done and provides valuable advice, it's not easy to find a good dentist. I highly recommend Dr. Herbert and her staff.

Three things about my recent filling experience demonstrate why J&D Dental is a 5 star business. First, the dentist used just the right amount novocaine to get the job done without numbing half my face and gave it time to take effect before she started work, which demonstrated strong professional knowledge. Second, the dentist and assistant always let me know what they were about to do, so I wasn't surprised by anything that was happening, which demonstrated great patient empathy. Third, the dentist and assistant had a good working partnership, and the dentist even asked the assistant for her thoughts on something, which suggests a respectful workplace with competent employees. My experiences at J&D dental over the past couple of years have all been excellent.

Only had my intake appointment today, but as of yet, this is the best dentist's office I've ever been to. In over 10 years at my old dentist, I'd tried to get certain referrals, appointments for appliances, and specialized care for a host of unique issues and was never taken seriously. I got all that done in ONE appointment at J & D. Not to mention they have a thoughtful, positive vibe you need with a dentist. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Most people don't look forward to going to the dentist, but I do! The staff is very caring, thorough and gentle. Always a pleasant experience at J&D!

I've been going to J and D for years, first referred by my brother. They are wonderful. Dr. Herbert is great, I have nothing but love for all of the hygienists, and Amanda at the front desk is a treat (and let's face it, probably functionally the most important person there). They have a gentle touch (one of the rooms has a massage chair, whaaat?) and make submittimg expenses to my benefits company as easy as possible (still a pain-not the dental office's fault). I've been working from home for the past year and a half, and likely will not be going back to my downtown office (ever?), but I keep going downtown for the dentist.

Absolutely the best dental experiences (and I've got dentists and hygienists in the family!) for over 20 years. Always warm, prompt, present, positive and attentive to my comfort. I love J & D Dental

The entire team was great. From the second I walked in to the second I left, every person I met was so nice and friendly. I also felt that my hygienist (April) was extremely thorough with my cleaning and that the doctor was able to tell me what could cause me concern later on, even though I had no immediate issues.

I had a chipped tooth that broke in two places with 24 hours. I left a message last night. At 8:00 Patricia (who recognized my voice on the recording) called and scheduled me at 11:30. I came in, had an X-ray and was thrilled to find out it was an old filling that had broken off and there was no major damage to the tooth or the root. I was numbed (offered dark glasses and headsets) and it was fixed in a timely manner and OMG it looks better than ever.

They also were very aware that my bottom teeth were shifting and how it was affecting my bite so they adjusted the new filling to fit with my current bite. I am so grateful to have all the women of J & D Dental in my life. My husband has been so impressed with my experiences with them that he is changing dentists! They have a great "yearly " plan for those who do not have dental insurance. It is a great value and very reasonable. Give these ladies a try, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing staff! The atmosphere has been great with each visit so far and everyone has been friendly and down to earth, from the front desk to the hygienists to the dentist. I got four fillings today and I was in and out within an hour and fifteen minutes, paperwork and wait time included, which was a pleasant surprise. The procedure was painless and the staff gave me a thorough explanation of each step along the way so I knew exactly what to expect. I will be coming here for a long time!

If you work downtown, this is an excellent place to have your regular checkups. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. After every appointment I walk away with the impression that they really care about their clients. Also, if you like, you can opt into text reminders for appointments.

They did a crown and a filling for me. The crown broke so they redid it and it hasn't broken again. The filling broke and they replaced it and it broke again this morning. I know sometimes these things happen, but 3 times in less than 5 years? Also it's Friday and for some reason they're not open Friday, so I'm just SOL for now.

I'm from the Chicago area and my tooth broke while in your fair city. Dr. Herbert fit me in without hesitation. Her staff were so special and truly know how to treat customers. I didn't have my insurance card with me but they didn't sweat over that.just email it when you get home. Dr. Herbert was knowledgeable and kind. After the exam they emailed my X-rays directly to my regular dentist. Every business could take some tips from this organization. Thanks again!

This is my regular dentist, which I chose on a recommendation -- and because I do all my professional services downtown where I work if at all possible. Never had an insurance problem with these folks and have done regular check-ups, fillings, gum work, etc. All female staff (or so it appears) if that matters to you. They have been understanding on reschedules and missed appointments. Definitely sticking with these folks.

In general I am terrified of dentists or doctors. I had a terrible dentist when I was a kid and had braces also, I just dread it. I broke a tooth and made an apt. they took me in the next day. The hygienist and dentist were great. The entire time, the hygienist kept telling me exactly what was going on and what was going to happen. Everyone I have dealt with is both friendly and professional I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist.

The place is very modern and doesn't smell like antiseptic. You can also listen to music with an ipod, which helped me a lot when he had to grind my tooth, it was totally painless. After the whole thing now I'm even considering going back to get my teeth whitened. If you're a big chicken like me go to J&D dental.

Let me start by saying. i have a love hate relationship with dentists in general. Seems like technology straight out of the dark ages. being poked and prodded with instruments that look like they came out of my grandfathers tool box. But you know, i do want to eat solid food as i get older- so i make that awful trek into the office on a regular basis.

As far as Dentists go. JD has been my fave. Been going here for several years, as they are right across the street from my office. Staff is awesome with a capital A. I do prefer Dr. Herbert. but that is just personality. as she is always in a great mood and her team always makes it fun (as fun as going to a dentist can be). Not that i doubt my fellow yelpers, but some of the review seem unlikely based upon my experiences. Like another reviewer here. Amy Z. JD gets 5 stars from me.

Same problem as Scott and Marina but I didn't have a Groupon. I had gone to J&D because they are in my building at work. Biggest mistake I've ever made! After my normal visit they told me I had 8 cavitiies. I was shocked, because I've had 3 my whole life and I'm 30! I told this to several people in my office and they all said they had a similar situation.

I asked the receptionist at J&D to print off my records with the "cavitiies" listed. I waited my 6 months for my next cleaning and went to another dentist. Guess what no cavities. Matter of fact the Dentist said I had great teeth and saw no issues. I had so many billing issues when I was at J&D. Either something wasn't covered or a different amount was covered then I had been told. I get so angry when I think about how much money I wasted to get teeth fixed that might not have ever had anything wrong with them!

J&D also tried billing me for cavities that I didn't have. It was my first visit with them because they were convenient to my work. I was told I had 1 cavity that needed a filling. I was concerned because I didn't have a single 'watch spot' from my last cleaning at my regular dentist 6mo prior. Few days later I'm informed by Delta Insurance that they billed out/quoted for not 1 but 3 cavities!

Red flag, so I went back to my old dentist for a 2nd opinion and was told I have ZERO cavities! It makes you wonder if they truly are competent at their profession, or if they are scamming patients and the insurance companies. Screw convenience, I'll make the commute back to my old dentist any day!

Very friendly and professional office. One of the things I like the best about J and D Dental is that my appointments always start on time, no sitting in the waiting room wondering what is taking so long. They are very focused on preventative care and they can find little problems and treat them before they become big problems. I have never liked going to the dentist but I can honestly say that J and D Dental makes it a much better experience by fixing little problems before they become big expensive problems.

J&D has very friendly dentists and hygienists, which is great if you haven't been to the dentist in awhile. But while I know dental insurance is old hat for dental staff who see a lot of patients and a lot of insurance cards, the help I received from the front desk at J&D was actually not at all helpful and rude. I called ahead to Delta to see how much of my fillings would be covered, and the insurance said it would be partially covered.

When I confirmed my appointment, I doubled checked with J&D staff that part of the filling would be covered and was told the filled would be covered by insurance and that they had contacted Delta. After my fillings I double checked to see if I needed to pay anything and was sent on my way without making a payment or being told a bill was coming. A month later the dental bill came for a few hundred dollars, which was the difference between what was covered and what was charged.

The amount came as a surprise, since I was by then under the impression that the insurance would take care of the cost. When I called J&D to follow-up on the misunderstanding that I had or the miscommunication, the person I spoke with on the phone had little interest in speaking with me about it and talked to me like I was an idiot for not knowing how insurance works.

Instead of helping me figure out where the issue was, the person on the phone frankly said that insurance just covers a portion of the service, they'd have no way to see how much was covered, and that's how it works. I felt great while getting a cleaning and the fillings I needed. But after that call and the miscommunication about how the process works, I'll be finding a new dental office.

I bought a groupon for a full dental cleaning, exam and x-rays for J & D Dental. The dentist found some cavities and estimated about $600 to take care of it. A few months later I visited another dentist to get my teeth cleaned and asked for x-rays to take a look at the cavities that I'm supposed to have. There was nothing! Such a rip-off! That's the only way for them to get their money back: make people pay for some fake cavities! DO NOT GO HERE!

I love my dentist! I bet you never heard that from anyone before. I go to J&D dental originally because it is right across the street from my office and they take Delta Dental. I have had nothing but a great experience with my dentist (Dr Herbert) and her partner. One unique thing is the staff is entirely female. And as my coworker stated you want a female dentist cause her hands are smaller than a man's.

The waiting room is clean and welcoming as are the examine rooms. And they even play good tunes. I recommend them to my coworkers (many have gone and now like going to the dentist).
