Hansberry HL Ill Dentist

My first appointment there was pleasant. We planned to drill and fill 2 teeth. I was recommended to see Dr. Howard but he was booked up for some time so I saw Dr. Greene. Within a couple days one of my teeth started to hurt pretty uncomfortably. I called and she got me in. She then told me both teeth would need root canals- we went back and forth about how I couldn't afford it, was she sure she couldn't just fill them (the original plan) And if not they would just have to be pulled because I cannot afford the root canal.

She seemed frustrated about this- and then suddenly changed her mind that one of the teeth could be saved and didn't need a root canal? I was feeling confused and like I was being lied to and being told I needed a more expensive procedure I didn't need. She drilled both teeth- filled the one (which has had no problems so it clearly didn't need the root canal she was wanting me to get) but the other she told me she not only could not fill, but could not pull.

She said it was too brittle and would break off and would have to be surgically removed. She sent me to a dental surgeon who pulled that tooth out in the most quick easy extraction. It was not too brittle to pull. It did not need to be surgically removed. I left so confused and upset. It really felt like I got a perfectly okay tooth could've been saved by a filling extracted because someone was frustrated about not making more money. Confusing. Upsetting.

The health of your teeth is very important. Dr Howard has been my dentist for years. His staff is warm, courteous and always willing to work with you. I am forever in debt to my dentist Dr. Howard and my orthodontist Mark Blanchette for my fantastic smile! Remember, your smile is what people notice first, make a good impression and make your dental health a priority!

Jennifer Goff~I cracked my tooth on a popcorn kernel last night. Was on the phone with Chelsea at the Lynchburg office by 8:05am. She took the time to talk to Dr. Davis and get me worked in by 11:45am! They have the friendliest office staff, dental assistants and hygienists. The atmosphere there is very different than some practices in our area. Dr. Davis was very kind and comforting as usual and had me in and out with minimal pain in no time. He is great about providing dental care with as little pain as possible and is very thorough about after care and infection prevention.

Thee best dentistry I've been to. Hands down. I called with extreme pain in my mouth. Debbie was extremely understanding and was able to get me in the same day! When I got there they rushed me in AS A NEW PATIENT. Chelsea and Kelsey helped me with paperwork and were just incredibly kind and understanding. Everyone was. If you're looking for a GREAT Dentist this is the place.

It was my first time there as a new patient decided to switch because of insurance purposes. My first experience wasn't a pleasant one. When I walked in I didn't like the vibe of the whole office including Dr. Greene. She was rough scrapping my teeth and when it came time to rinsing my mouth out she had water running all down the side of my face down my neck.

Never had that happen to me at my previous dentist. The dental assistant halfway flossed my teeth. I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth and she didn't use a floss threader to get in between my teeth. Afterwards my teeth was hurting and I've never had that experience before. It all felt rushed even though I was the last patient of the day (appointment at 4:00pm). Definitely my first and last time being seen there. I will gladly let Altavista Dental file out of network before I go back here.

Dr Greene made my first experience feel amazing but my second experience today was horrible. They have a COVID rule where patients have to wait in their car (which is fine). I was the first person to show up for my 8am Appoinment. A middle age white man and a older white woman & her two children show up after me. The service desk comes and assist the woman with the her daughters first then comes to my car and say someone will be out to help you.

I patiently wait. 10 mins later someone come assist the man. So I stand at the door. After waiting another ten minutes someone come assist someone else that just pulled up. By then it was 8:30 so I walked off. Horrible service

I hate going to the dentist (like any normal person), but I kind of love this place. Such a positive energy in the building. Everyone seems to like each other and really enjoy doing what they're doing. Dr. Greene is the dentist I am with and really appreciate both her ability and her approach. All in all, about as enjoyable as a trip to the dentist can be. Very satisfied.

Dr. Howard is the absolute best! I had the worst experience with a very green dentist as a teenager who didn't know what he was doing, and it scarred me (I was not numb, yelled at, ect.), which is a big problem, because I also have a serious, and very real, phobia of my teeth decaying. Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Howard, and his pain-free methods are also fear-free!

All of his work has held up beautifully! Along with being an excellent dentist, he also has a fantastic bedside manner, and always makes me crack up! From what I hear he also volunteers his time to help others who are unable to afford dental care each year as well, which is a major help to our community! Healthy teeth are important, as a bad one can potentially cause heart disease and a ton of pain, so I think that's top notch!

All around great office too. I'd hate to ever have to go anywhere else. So, once upon a time I was terrified, and now I look forward to my visits! I'm happy to say that all of my teeth are kept healthy, and all thanks to a dentist who actually cares how I feel! Everyone should have a dentist like Dr. Howard!

Fair price for tooth extraction. As a new, uninsured patient, they treated me great with a quickly scheduled appt. Courteous, professional front desk staff (Chelsea was great) and the dentist is informative and efficient. Lynchburg's best, hands down.

Wonderful. Angela was fantastic; sensitive and informative. If you are uninsured, GO HERE; their prices are insanely reasonable. And if you're insured, still go here! I was treated very well and received an excellent cleaning. Like I said, the cleaning technician was very sensitive, but also very thorough. Truly above and beyond my expectations.
