I went to Kris years ago, and because she was not respectful of Traditional Chinese Medicine and holistic paradigms of the world, I knew immediately she was not the one for my family. At the time Allison Kumata was there who was great as a dentist and whose customer service was consistently excellent. After that Alex Yen replaced Dr. Kumata, and I thought he was also great. Mave is my favorite person there.

She is one of the finest at reception and she recently told me she doesn't handle Dr. Yen's patients anymore. I was speaking to Mave about the changes in protocol and Kris was helicoptering and not giving proper privacy at the front desk area as usual for her. Each and every time I have had to go in to this office for the other dentists over the past several years, Kris has become paranoid in this way.

I think she is truly threatened by any paradigm other than her own and does not have the professionalism not the courtesy to simply just "be". She has absolutely no manners and is singularly the most insecure neurotic professional in any field I have ever met. She loves to say "I own this business" every time she gets in my way when I am trying to book with one of the other dentists.

That may be true and my hat off to you, Kris for that great achievement. Too bad you don't know how to treat people that are different then how you are. We are moving anyway so I want to thank Dr. Yen, Mave, Dr. Kumata from the past and a few other staff for years of wonderful service. I recommend Dr. Yen if you go to this office.

This is a long due five-star review for Dr. Yen. I have been coming to this place for over two years, initially it's because of the location, only two blocks away from my office, and very good reviews. At the beginning, all I wanted was just to do the teeth cleaning, but Dr. Yen pointed out all the problems my teeth have and he showed his confidence that he could make them perfect for me. Honestly, I thought Dr. Yen was this cocky young guy, who just wanted to make more money.

So I did not listen. Through the years, all the problems he identified earlier have been proved they were true. He fixed all of the problems with his outstanding skills. Especially the crown reconstruction he did, was way better than my last last dentist, who was appeared to be more experienced on paper. After my 70 years old dentist retired, I was sad for a long time.

But now I think I have found this amazing dentist, Dr. Yen. His hands are very steady, and he is skilled, professional, considerate and humble. In addition, he has this awesome support team in his office: everyone is super nice and sweet. I love going there.

This office is amazing. The whole staff feel like family. The technicians are amazing and Dr. Hamamoto cares about the whole you, not just your teeth. I cannot recommend them more. We drop by with our kids just to say hello to our favorite people.

My experience went well. Dr. Hamamoto does an excellent job, along with her staff. They treated me with care as I needed two cavities to be taken care of. Very efficient work by Dr. Hamamoto. Now a few days ago I came in for another cleaning. Danni was my hygenist who always does a thorough job. As she did again this time. She was sensitive to my needs as I recently had surgery. She gave me great advice on certain issues. This office performs 5 star work every time.

Awful! I had a crown done with her. After she reviewed her work she said, oops. looks like you didn't need a crown after all and it was just decay. What?! Couldn't you have determined that beforehand? this was over ten years ago and I recently have had to get it redone. The crown caused so much distress for me over the years because food constantly would get stuck in it and be painful. It had to be redone because of this.

Being new to the area, I was looking for a dentist and chose Dr. Hamamoto based on proximity to my work and great reviews. I booked a first appointment and although wasn't given any specific instructions showed up 10 minutes early thinking there might be some pre-appointment paperwork. Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish the outdated and unnecessarily intrusive form (why do you need to know where my husband works?) before they called me in.

They told me to come in anyways. As soon as I came in the doors, I was bombarded by questions from numerous assistants that could have been resolved if I had been allowed to finish the form or been given proper instructions to come early. No one seemed to notice that they were completely overwhelming me. A point of contention was my x-rays -- I had had a full set of x-rays within the past 2 years, had no current dental issues, and didn't want another full panel of x-rays (excuse me if I prefer not to subject myself to radiation).

I emailed the office my previous x-ray images and they finally took no for an answer. I was feeling rattled but decided to take some deep breaths and just get through the appointment. As I checked out of the appointment, I decided that I would like to get new retainers. The receptionist said she would put in a request to my insurance and that it would take up to 6 weeks to hear back.

It was late October then, and by 6 weeks it was holiday season so I didn't sweat it when I didn't hear back. I was also slow to follow up in the new year. But in February, I finally called to ask about the retainer and was told the person who knew about this was out but they'd call me back the next business day. Well it's been 10 days now and I still haven't heard back.

So I'm over it. I already got a recommendation for a new dentist and will be taking my business elsewhere. No need for me to chase down the dentist's office about work they should be doing when I wasn't happy with my experience anyways. Perhaps you may find my experience strange when Dr. Hamamoto has so many good reviews. I thought the same thing as well.

Until I received at least 3 messages after my first appointment asking me to leave them a positive review if I had a good experience (but if I had a bad experience, to just call them!).

Dr. Hamamoto has been great! She is always advising with the right balance on what work needs to be done, not too much but enough to keep healthy and nice looking teeth! She went out of her way to help me with 2 front teeth which needed caps and are very visible; the new caps look amazing, the color and shape match my teeth very well, you cannot see the difference. She works fast and efficiently, the visits have been painless.

Dr. Hamamoto is a wonderful family dentist. She recently fixed a molar spacing issue that had been bothering me for years. She and her staff worked hard to turn around the new crown in order to complete the project in time for a trip. Each hygienist is a perfectionist and they take great care in treating your gums gently and leaving your teeth feeling smooth and refreshed. She also takes care of my husband and children who all agree that Doc Kris is the best.

Great experience getting a crown replaced today. Dr Kris is an exemplary dentist, highly skilled, professional with a warm and kind way of putting her patients at ease. And very thorough, careful and friendly hygienists, who gently but firmly encourage healthy dental habits. :

I've been going to Dr Hamamoto ever since she took over the practice from Dr Kanemoto several years ago. Dr Hamamoto is a highly experienced, gentle and personable professional. Ive had some major work done by her and I am very happy with the results. Her staff is friendly, helpful and competent. Although I now live 30 miles from Palo Alto, I still make the journey to have my teeth maintained by her and her hygiene staff. Highly recommended.

I've been regularly going to Kris for my dentistry for about 20 years. I've only had positive experiences. She does excellent work and is pleasant to be with.

I've been coming here for years since I was in college or maybe even before. I love Dr. Hamamoto she is so sweet and professional and knows my entire family. We all see her. Dani was my dental hygienist today and she did an amazing job, I could not recommend her highly enough. She was so patient, nice, careful and funny! I'm going to start flossing my teeth because of her.

But seriously even the receptionist here is always pleasant. This establishment truly values patient care, not making more money off people. I got an amazing cleaning today for a good rate (because I don't have dental insurance).

My husband and I have been with Dr. Hamamoto since she bought the practice. We trust her expertise and honesty about what is necessary. I never feel like she is trying to sell me the latest expensive "fad" procedure. In addition everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. Whenever a friend asks if I know a good dentist, I never hesitate to recommend Dr. Hamamoto.

The first thing I asked when I made an appointment was if they were in network with guardian dental and they said yes. Later I get a big bill from them. after spending time on the phone with guardian (you know how much fun that is), I find out that they are not in in-network. or rather the dentist who treated me was not in guardian's network but apparently another dentist in their practice is.

This is fraud. By saying they are in-network and then booking me with a dentist who is not in network and sticking me out-of-network prices. if they are this unethical during billing god only knows what else they have been lying about. perhaps I didn't need a filling at all. who knows. beware of this fraudulent practice.

On Sunday I chipped my tooth biting into something. Today, Monday (President's Day), Dr. Kris took time from her day off to accommodate my request to be seen immediately. She looked at the situation as we both felt a crown might be the cure but after further review, we decided to go with a new filling saving me big $$$. I've been going to Dr. Kris for a very long time and she continues to go above and beyond to exceed expectations. Thank you Dr. Kris.

I've been a patient of Dr. Kris Hamamoto's for several years. She is an extremely caring professional yet does not impose extra teeth work on patients. I am very happy with her care and highly recommend her. She recently even helped me sort out some dental issues I was having as a caregiver for my mom. Her office staff, Mave comes to mind, is always helpful: always sends info I request promptly. I've had an excellent experience with oral hygienist Dani who always has friendly, helpful tips for mouth/tooth care. Thank you!

Dr. Kris did a fantastic job of repairing my chipped front tooth. I went in on emergency on a Saturday, because I was leaving 2 days later for a 10 day Asia vacation. it was supposed to be a temporary but it was so good it lasted until I was ready to schedule the remake the cap four months later, when she took it off. The front tooth cap that broke was made by another dentist.

It took that dentist 3 tries to get the cap to fit on my chipped front tooth. When Dr Kris examined that cap, she said it had been made too thin at the bottom of the tooth and thats why it broke. She also said since the tooth was made wider, the alignment of my bottom teeth didn't match the new tooth, so she corrected that in preparation for my new cap to go on.

I have been coming to Dr. Kris Hamamoto for 2 years, since my experience with the last one was a disaster. Not only Dr Kris, but her whole staff are very caring people. My husband switched to Dr. Kris too and she helped take care of his dental needs while he was going through radiation and chemo for his throat cancer.

The professional staff are highly skilled and efficient. Dr Hamamoto is very approachable and you can easily discuss any dental concern with her. The office staff are courteous and friendly. It is a great place for your dental care.

I have had several bad experiences with dentists, but going to Dr. Hamamoto's office really put me at ease. I would go back to her no matter what and recommend her to anyone. I had a cavity that badly needed filling as well as teeth crooked from not wearing my post-braces retainer, and Kris was able to quickly clean up my cavity on short notice in a difficult area and get my teeth realigned with Invisalign within about 6 months!

She truly did an excellent job, making the process easy for me and making sure I felt that I was in good hands. She is very efficient, friendly and gentle, as are her dental assistants. The front desk staff are happy to work with you and greet me as soon as I'm in the door. I'd happily recommend her to anyone needing a great dentist!

I've been coming to Dr. Hamamoto for several years now. I like her, but also I really appreciate the fact that she does not over treat you. I was seeing a dentist prior to this who would routinely change out your crowns based on the age of the crown. she only changes out crowns when you have decay or a real reason to do it. Also, she's really nice and the practice itself runs very efficiently.

The employees know me and greet me by name when I walk through the door. I've also really been happy with the dental assistants as they are very thorough, clean carefully and thoroughly and give really good advice on how to avoid problems. Everyone I've switched to Kris has also been very happy.

Angelisa is the reason I now love going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned! She is sweet, professional, down to earth and pretty damn funny. Thank you Angelisa! :

I've been coming to Dr. Kumata at this practice for the past year or so. She is great! She's super friendly and I actually had a good time at the dentist. Her cleanings are VERY thorough - nearly an hour long, and all done by Dr. Kumata herself, not a hygienist. After coming here a couple of times, I'm wondering why I went to my former dentist for so long. The office staff is also very friendly - it's an all-around great place!

Dr Kris is a very detailed dentist and explains every detail of any procedure she is going to perform on ones teeth. When new procedures become acceptable and useful for the patient, she learns how to perform them accurately and safely and explains them in great detail to the patient. I have been her patient for many years and she and dental assistant work very closely as a super team to get the job done properly.

I completely trust Dr Hamamoto. Unfortunately, I had to change dentists due to insurance coverage from my job change, and I met up with two other dentist who had great reviews on yelp and/or recommendations from other colleagues, but no one can beat Dr Kris's expertise. I ended up going back to her for a consultation and she put everything in perspective. I will end up keeping her as my dentist even while paying out of pocket. It is worth it.

A dentist that I look forward to going to. She's been taking care of my teeth for almost ten years now. Get my teeth cleaned every six months and I've had a filling or two break away and nicely patched up. Highly recommended if you are in need of a dentist.
