Elgin Dental Center - Carl F Herring

From the moment I entered the facility, I was greeted with a warm welcome and smile. As it was my first time there, I wasn't sure what to expect, as it is a "dentist" office. I was pleasantly surprised. My experience continued to be a positive one, as the dental hygienest talked me through step by step what she was doing. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a dentist.

I have been going to this dentist office for a few years and have never had a bad visit until 05/25/22. I was only going in for a cleaning and the girl that did the cleaning did not do a very good job. I was only there maybe 15-20 minutes usually they do a great job and my teeth feel great, but this time I was not very pleased. Everyone is super nice at this office, but I already feel like I need to have my teeth cleaned again.

My kids had a Tramatic experience with dentists in the past. Once here my kids were treated with respect, the most patience I've ever seen in the dental industry and they were impressed themselves. This means so much after everything my kids have been through.

The Dental Hygienist was wonderful. I informed her about my sensitive teeth. She took special care of them. No pain at all.

Great experience at the Elgin Family Dental. I had tooth pain for several days and was unable to determine exactly which tooth was causing the problem. I went to see Dr. Herring. After a short but thorough examination Dr. Herring was able to identify the problem tooth and develop a plan. All the office staff was friendly, helpful and engaging. Dr. Herring is very knowledgeable, professional with a great attitude.

Had an emergency the day after Christmas and they got me in immediately. Thanks so very much!

I went in on an emergency basis, I was having tooth pain. They were able to see me the same afternoon. I just want to compliment the office staff and dentist for being so nice and helpful. Unfortunately I need a root canal but I will be back for my crown when it is done. Thanks for taking care of me.

It is always wonderful to get my teeth cleaned. Yes, I look forward to it. Rachel, the hygienist, is thorough and efficient. She gets my tea stains out, and my teeth look healthy and wonderful when she finishes. She is the best!

The BEST dentist in Elgin (and probably in central Texas). Great staff and great service as well.

To be clear this 1 star review is 100% due to their billing systems. I actually enjoy their dentists and hygienists. That said my family will not be back. This is one of those dentists that while up front paying the deductible you can ask them to make sure everything they plan on doing is covered by your insurance.they will tell you yes.then they will start mailing you bills.

This has happened every time with them. This has never ever happened to me in the 12 years I have had this insurance. It's just this dentist. Why when I ask you to make sure everything you do is covered by insurance because I don't want bills from unnecessary things you are doing why tell me Everything is covered. This last time was $14 and they have literally harassed me over $14 now kind you out of principle I was fed up but seriously the dentists aren't that good here. They are way over priced and way over charge and it's a huge hassle. I hope it was worth the loss of 2 customers to them. They probably don't care. Rant over. Sorry.

All staff members with whom I interacted were professional, competent, and friendly. I would recommend Elgin Family Dental to anyone.

Watch out for this companies billing system. You cannot just pay your deductible and get your teeth cleaning and ex-rays. This is the only dentist I have ever had where I am constantly flooded with bills after what should have been completely covered by insurance. They are pretty over priced as well. They just lost our business over the principle of a $14 bill I should have not have ever received. Shame good dentists and hygienists terrible billing system.

I have only ever had GREAT experiences here! I have been going there for years and Dr. Scott Herring and his father run a great practice. All of the receptionist, and the hygienists are nice professional and very helpful, especially in the crazy covid times that we are currently living in. I live in the Austin/Pflugerville area, but find myself driving to Elgin just because I love going to this practice and don't think ill find another like it in the bigger city area. 100% recommend!

First, I noticed how nice their building and offices are. The exam chairs faces the window so instead of staring at a wall. So you are looking at trees and flowers and nature. The hygienist was friendly and did an excellent job cleaning. She has some helpful tips. The dentist, Dr. Scott Herring was also nice and professional. The receptionist and front desk was also friendly. I am glad I decided to come here for me and my family's dental needs. I highly recommend. Thank you!

I was nervous about staying in Elgin for my dentist but I had a comfortable experience every time! I felt like the ppl there knew what they were doing! 100% recommended

By far the best dental place I have been to! EVERYONE is so nice! Honestly if you want to have a painless experience go here. I had to get some cavities filled and I tell you what! I almost fell asleep TWICE! I felt nothing! I will always recommend people to go here!

Went in with bad toothache, told Carl herring to pull it out. He said he couldn't do it sent me to a oral surgeon. I went had it pulled at oral surgeon and asked if it was hard to get out he said no it's just a simple tooth extraction. Took 10 minutes to pull it. So herring says he's been in business for over 40 years but can't even pull a tooth. That's like going to a mechanic shop and they can't change your oil. After 40 years he doesn't seem to have confidence in his work. Yeah find a better dentist just my opinion

I have been seeing Dr. Carl Herring for nearly 15 years since relocating from Tennessee. Dr. Herring has served my family so genuinely well and provided the utmost in care. A few years ago, my youngest daughter had just came out braces and had a traumatic accident on a trampoline--completely knocking her front teeth towards the roof of her mouth. It was devastating!

In panic I called Dr Herring after hours at home. He was calm and caring and directed us to Dell Children's. Fast forward to now and Dr. Scott Herring is putting the final touches on my daughter's teeth with an implant. Thanks to the Herrings giving her a beautiful smile, my daughter won her college's Pageant earlier this year and qualified to compete for Miss Texas next year.

Although my family and I have moved from the Elgin area, we still drive 30 miles for our care--it's worth it! And words to the wise: don't ever pre-judge a seemingly small, country town denistry. From Tennessee to the surrounding Austin area, Elgin Family Dental has it all--professional staff, technology, honesty, and of course--a genuine smile and big heart!

Dr. Herring went out of his way on his day off to help me with my tooth ache. He even brought what I needed to my house. This goes a LONG way with me. I'm very thankful for all they do for me. Great organization.

Elgin Family Dental always welcomes in, in a family way. In a family way, I mean to say I go there to get my mouth worked on and don't leave with my ears ringin'. Really enjoy the way the front desk staff handles dental hygiene, and really appreciate the hygienists and Dentists that make this place, a place to go back again and again, to keep a good smile and healthy well being!

My wife and son have been going to Elgin Family Dental for about a year, I continued to visit my dentist out of state. A few weeks ago, I needed to see a dentist and they saw me immediately. It turned out that I needed a root canal and they recommended an excellent Endodontist in Austin and got me into see them the very next day. I am very pleased with the services I received at Elgin Family Dental and their staff (very professional and friendly).

The doctors and staff here at Elgin Family Dental are great. As much as I despise dental work, they are patient, caring and do awesome work. A+ y'all

First off, I'm admittedly that guy that waits too long to get to the doctor when there's a problem. Recently I had an issue with an infected tooth that required an extraction, which had me in considerable agony for some time. While the extraction was necessary, somewhat overdue and pretty straightforward, other medical issues of mine made the. procedure a concern.

Despite being an obviously busy practice with many patients, Elgin family Dental accommodated me quickly. Peggy's calming demeanor and outgoing personality put me immediately at ease (Something not easy for some of us at the dentist!) and Dr. Scott competently performed the procedure immediately without requiring me to schedule another appointment.

From JJ's office administration on down, this practice is professional and solid. Great attention to detail in the customer service part on every level. I look forward to meeting more of the team. Anyone in or near Elgin should look no further for dental care. Thank you all so much!

Evaluations and results are questionable. There are no follow-up phone calls etc. The staff is pleasant. The bedside manner is like thank you for being here give us our money have a great day.

I've been a patient at many dental offices over my lifetime but my experience at Elgin Family Dental has been the best. Every staff member was professional and very nice. Dr. Carl Herring made a great first impression. I am really excited that my circumstances has lead me to this dental practice. I look forward to being their patient for many years to come. I highly recommend these guys.

The staff here are amazing all the way from the front of the office to the back. Dr. Herring is very personable and always makes me feel comfortable and my hygienist Rachel is a rock star!

Office was very clean and comfortable. The chairs you sit in to get your teeth cleaned even had little massage settings! I think the other thing I liked was the big window to look through and all the birds around while I was waiting for the hygienists. The woman who cleaned my teeth was friendly and quick. My only complaint I think would be the waiting time between steps. But they may have had a call-in, not sure. Well definitely go back!

First of all I must tell you that I am terrified of Dentist in general but, from the time I stepped foot in the door of Dr. Carl Herring I have felt that they really do care about the Patient and not causing me pain of any type. Roxanne the Hygienist I saw (there are two and I only saw Roxanne) is a Rock Star. Dr. Herring is extremely gentle and kind in how he treats you.

I never felt anything including the inevitable shot. If you want a Dentist and Hygienist that will not hurt you, does a great job and will do a great job of working with your budget and your insurance, then I would highly recommend Dr. Carl Herring. My wife goes to Dr. Scott Herring (the son) and she says he is wonderful too. I hope my review will help my fellow Dental Cowards find the right Dentist for their needs.
