Periodontal disease is an infection of the gums and of supportive tissues surrounding the teeth. Many people develop gum and tissue problems. The good news is that periodontal disease can be controlled. In some cases, it can even be reversed. Periodontal treatment can make your mouth healthier and help preserve your teeth.
If you want a dental restoration that looks and feels as though it's really part of your mouth, dental implants may be right for you. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root. Your jawbone fuses with the implant to provide a secure platform for a prosthesis(artificial tooth). If you are missing many teeth, several implants can be used to support a partial or complete denture.
Cosmetic Lengthening: This is done to remove an overgrowth of gum tissue that causes a "gummy" smile. During this procedure, excess gum tissue and/or bone is reshaped to expose more of the natural tooth. This procedure is often done on the upper front six to eight teeth to create a beautiful smile, just like the pictures you've seen in many magazines.

Once this contact is made and tooth position is established, the gum continues to move down, exposing more of the tooth until reaching the junction of the crown and root. This movement is why permanent teeth seem to get longer as children pass through adolescence.

I was devastated when one of my molars cracked and I got the news the tooth itself couldn't be repaired. I was referred to Dr. Ray, so this was my first time visit for a consult to see how to fix it. Dr. Ray and her staff were phenomenal. They all made me feel very much at ease, explaining everything I needed to know about the options I had and helping me make the best choice. I wasn't rushed, was given opportunities to ask questions and felt very cared for by the time I walked out of the office.

Professional excellence is the reason I have been a patient of Dr. Ray's for over 20 years. This week she extracted a molar that had gone bad. I was in and out in less than an hour. While traveling, my implant healing cap came off. After reaching out to a few other periodontists, Dr Ray's office got me in same same day and replaced it. Dr Ray and her office were wonderful. Dr. Ray and her staff are great! Every time I go, everyone is professional and courteous. Janice the hygienist is very knowledgeable and answers my questions. Dr. Ray is just amazing and she is very gentle and even helped me with my fear of extraction. Lupie and Wendy are very nice and work hard to help answer questions about insurance.
