From Our Website

In this dental office serving Garden Ridge, Schertz and Cibolo, we focus on preventing future dental problems and conservatively addressing those that already exist, with a long-term view of both your dental health and your overall health. The most effective path toward preventing problems is effectively brushing and flossing your teeth twice daily. This removes sugars, food debris and dental plaque from your teeth and gives your saliva a chance to do its job of keeping the mouth at a productive moisture level.

Implants are one strategy for replacing a missing tooth or teeth. The recommendation for implants can originate with either an oral surgeon, a periodontist, or with your general dentist. Implant treatment in this Garden Ridge/Schertz/Cibolo office is handled in partnership with an area oral surgeon who imbeds a titanium post in the bone. It takes several months for the bone to grow closely around the implant and stabilize it, if there are no complications. After the oral surgeon determines that the implant site has healed, the patient returns to our office and a crown is made to match the teeth on either side of the implant.

The color of teeth can change over time, particularly after years of exposure to stain-imparting foods, beverages and tobacco. There are a number of over-the-counter products that address this, but many of those systems do not allow the bleaching material to contact all the visible surfaces of the teeth. Also, if there is tooth decay, partial fractures or defective dental work present, pain and damage to the tooth can occur during bleaching. In this Schertz-Cibolo-Garden Ridge office, we check to be sure you don't have any compromised dental conditions that need to be solved before you begin bleaching Then we create custom bleaching trays to maximize the effectiveness of your bleaching effort and minimize damage to your gums.

Bridges (fixed partial dentures) are non-removable frameworks that attach replacement teeth to healthy adjacent teeth by a "bridged" internal framework. These are a treatment option when a missing tooth (or several adjacent teeth) has healthy teeth on either side of it/them. Visually, you should not be able to tell that it is not your natural tooth, if it is done correctly. Implants can also be used to hold a bridge. If dental disease or trauma has caused you to have few or none of your natural teeth, partial or complete dentures that fit well can give you many years of comfortable eating and look good too!

The role of technology in the dental office has changed a lot since I started serving the Schertz - Cibolo - Garden Ridge and Greater Randolph areas in 1982. We now use computer charting to back up our handwritten records and charts, and this office has led the way in incorporating dental x-ray and photographic and mouth modeling technologies that benefit you the patient. Recently there have been concerns in the media regarding the security of electronic health records. While we use current dental technology as diagnostic tools, in this office we do not routinely expose your records to the internet.

After 30-plus years of practicing family dentistry in the Greater Cibolo Area, I continue to be committed to providing excellent dental care while building relationships of mutual trust with my patients. We consider your entire health picture here at our dental office near Cibolo, so we don't rush you through. We use up-to-date technology tools here in our dental office on FM 3009 to give you the information you need to make informed decisions about your dental health. As a fifth-generation native of the area, I have watched the Cibolo area of Texas grow and change all of my life.
