Dr. John C. Hening, a native of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, came to Colorado to attend Western Colorado University in Gunnison, where he earned his undergraduate degree in biology. He became interested in dental school during his junior year and went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Colorado in 1992 and spent the next four years serving as a dental officer in the US Navy Dental Corps in Arizona. After that, he made the move to Durango, CO, which he's called home for over 20 years.

I recently had my first visit at Junction Creek Family Dentistry and I am really happy with my decision to go there. Dr. Hening was patient, thorough and made sure all of my questions were answered in a way that I could understand. I was also super impressed with his entire staff in how professional and kind they were. Darla was super friendly and helpful during all of phone interactions leading up to the visit and made the whole process stress-free for me.
