Several people recommended Dr. Segal, so I called to understand how he charges. I asked what he typically charges for a gum graft, and the receptionist stated there are multiple factors, and she would not. I told her I was looking for a range, not an exact price. She refused. I asked to speak to the doctor to explain that I was looking for a rough range, nothing exact.
She said the doctor had no interest in providing a rough estimate or range unless I paid for an appointment. My wife had a gum graft in Chicago, and we contacted several doctors who were all very open about costs before the procedure. It's unfortunate when doctors put money before patients. We would have gone back to the Chicago doctor if we didn't live in the suburbs now. Frankly, I am sad to have had such a poor experience from his office. Update: I called 3 others doctors offices and all provided a range on cost. It's a shame because I really did want to go to Dr. Segal based on other people's recommends, so hopefully my experience with the office is unique.

I had the procedure done a week ago. I was worried at first but once I got his consultation I felt very comfortable. He is very professional. The Atmosphere was relaxing. The healing was very successful, I didn't have any pain and it was done quickly. He has done a amazing job for my gum procedure. Thanks you Dr. Segal and the team. I will be coming back for another procedure.

Dr. Segal and team did an excellent job on my gum grafts. From initial consultation, preparation appointments, actual procedure, and follow-up appointments - everything went very smoothly. Appointments are confirmed and timely (not too short or any longer than necessary). Dr. Segal is an excellent doctor - the procedure was as comfortable as possible and the results were great. Dr. Segal's staff was incredibly professional and helpful throughout the process. I would highly recommend.

I will not go back after Kate left. She was the best hygienist I've ever had. I went in this morning for my regular appointment with her, and found out that she was no longer working there. The cleaning I had was a very unpleasant experience. I will find another hygienist at my regular dentist. I feel the office should've advised me that Kate was no longer there and that somebody new would be taking care of me. I would have canceled my appointment in advance.

Dr Segal and his staff have renewed my faith and trust in the medical field. After many years of painful procedures and trauma to my mouth and face at the hands of other doctors, Dr Segal went above and beyond, especially after the procedure, to communicate with me and reassure and calm my anxiety. I was so nervous about my gum graft that I didn't sleep well even though I heard Dr. Segal was outstanding, very thorough and detailed with his surgeries and made the dental procedure as pain free as possible. It was true! My gum graft was pain free, and the quick numbing injections were barely felt . I'm writing this 10 hours after the surgery and I have NO pain or discomfort whatsoever.

I've been going to Dr. Segal for decades, and he and his staff have consistently provided excellent care. He's straight-forward with his answers to questions; he's also funny, I should add. Most importantly, he's an outstanding periodontist, and his sole goal is the well-being of his patients. I just had periodontal surgery, and Dr. Segal was confident, positive and highly capable.
He was able to help me feel less anxious, too, for which I am grateful. I whole-heartedly recommend him and his fabulous dental hygienists, surgical assistants, and his office staff. Everyone makes you feel valued in this especially demanding time.

Dr. Segal's practice is one of the most top notch medical experiences I have had. I was referred to him by my primary dentist (Dr. Shiffman in Buffalo Grove) for a gum procedure, who routinely raved about Segal's grafts being the best in the area, bar-none. He was right! For me, him being out of my insurance network was completely worth the slightly higher personal expense, as my insurance covered a high % anyway, for the quality of care and trust. EVERYONE at practice - from front desk staff/billing, and assistants are extremely professional, knowledgable, and experienced.
Their follow up/ documentation, and treatment plans are extremely detailed and thorough. The building looks a bit dated from street level - but don't let this fool you- the office itself is beautiful, modernized, and very comfortable throughout. At the end of the day - the procedure was done to perfection. Segal is an expert in his field/ one of if not the top Periodontists in the Chicago area, and is someone I still seek advice from after moving out of state. See Dr. Segal!

I have been coming to Dr. Segal for years now he saved my teeth! I was fortunate enough to be recommended to him by my dentist. I've had a couple procedures done by him and have had great results each time. In addtion was given a lot of after-care info as well as what to expect the day of the procedures which made me feel at ease. The staff there is Profesional and so FRIENDLY every single time, Lani does my cleanings and I have nothing but good things to say. I would definitely recommend Dr. Segal & his practice I promise you will not be disappointed.

I have had extensive dental work over the years, and Dr. Segal is as careful and professional as any dentist I have ever had. His work is very precise and top grade. I would recommend him without hesitation. Even the waiting room magazines are current and well-organized. The office staff is similarly professional. Excellent office!

Dr Segal is professional, knowledgeable, and personable, as is his entire office staff. From the initial consultation thru surgery itself and follow-up visits, everything was explained thoroughly. Several layers of paperwork with my insurance company were taken care of, pain during surgery was handled extremely well, Rxs delivered ahead of time, informational sheets were detailed and thorough, a list of appropriate foods was supplied ahead of time, and I was contacted at home by Dr Segal the night of surgery and by my surgical nurse the next day to make sure all was going ok. I would not hesitate to recommend this Dr and practice. I do not do recos very often but this experience deserves it. No complications, no nasty surprises, excellent care.

Dr. Segal is a top-notch professional, both knowledgeable and personable. I'm very comfortable with him and know that I'm in competent hands. My compliments extend to his entire staff. Like Dr. Segal, they know their stuff and are warm and caring. I also appreciate the operational aspects of his practice, the advanced notice of appointments, the follow-up contacts, the visit notes, etc. I introduced my 95-year-old mother to his practice a couple years ago and she is a fan, too.
