Dr. Donald Solverson is a second-generation dentist and his son, Dr. Mitchell Solverson, is a third-generation dentist. Together, they continue the tradition of excellence started by Dr. John Solverson at this very same location in 1960. Dr. Don has been practicing dentistry at the same Rochester location since 1988. He practiced with his father, Dr. John Solverson, from 1988 to 1997. Since 1997, he has been the owner and primary practitioner at Rochester Family Dentistry. In 2014, his son, Dr. Mitchell Solverson, joined the practice full-time.
The staff of Rochester Family Dentistry places as much emphasis on caring for the entire patient as we do for caring for your teeth. Our staff receives regular training, we use some of the latest dental technology, and we place great emphasis on personalized patient care. Preventive dentistry is a very important aspect of our office.
Please inform the front desk receptionist on arrival of any changes in health history, address, phone numbers, dental insurance, allergies, and medications. Please bring in all your dental information on your first visit. We accept most traditional dental insurances. However, all charges remain the responsibility of the patient.
Does not include full mouth series radiographs or panorex radiographs which are recommended every 3-5 years. All dental services must be paid on the day of service to quality for the 15-20% discount. We do not send monthly statements with this plan. We know that our patients deserve the highest standard of dental care, regardless of coverage.

I've been a patient of Rochester Family Dentistry for 20 years and have always found Dr. Don and Dr. Mitch Solverson to be highly professional and concerned with making me comfortable and pain free. The facility is spotlessly clean and modern and the staff is courteous and friendly. Many of the staff have been there for years and frequently speak highly of their employer. I highly recommend Rochester Family Dentistry.

Steer clear of the younger Solverson-he is focused on higher billable procedures at the detriment of patients well being. I took my children for their semi-annual cleanings. It was our first time at this practice. Mitchell Solverson reviewed x-rays for my 9 1/2 year old and determined that she had four cavities between baby molar teeth. Typically, I would trust such medical advice but Mitchell Solverson wasn't acting as a trusted professional.
He came off very pushy and urgent to get these "cavities" filled asap, even though my daughter was in no pain. He was also insistent that my 11 year old get an already loose baby tooth removed for no apparent reason-no crowding or issues with the tooth. As he was discussing this he came off like a used car salesman. It was obvious that he was looking for ways to increase his billable work.
I decided to get a second opinion. I had the x-rays sent to another dental practice. Upon review, they found ZERO cavities. The dentist said even if there were cavities, the permanent molars would be arriving in months based on the x-rays. There is no sense in filling "cavities" in baby teeth that are about ready to fall out. I am glad that Mitchell Solverson gave off such alarming red flags so I could remove my children from his care but am sickened that he was trying to push unnecessary medical procedures for his own financial gain.

This is a wonderful dentist office! It's a family business and they treat their patients with courtesy and professionalism. They have gone out of their way to accommodate getting patients in on short notice and the father and son dentists take great care to explain procedures and make the patient feel as comfortable as possible. Staff is friendly and helpful, the office is very clean and the equipment is state of the art.

Rochester Family Dentistry is such a warm welcoming office! Dr. Don and Mitch Solverson are the best! Very gentle in their dental work and friendly! The front staff is fantastic and always extremely helpful! I've seen all 4 hygienists at various times and have had the best cleanings every visit. Each is gentle yet very thorough and pleasant to speak with. The dental assistants are so professional and accommodating! I recommend everyone in the Rochester area and beyond to visit Rochester Family Dentistry! Five Stars

Rochester Family Dentistry provides a excellent care. The staff are very helpful and seem to be looking out for their patients best interests. Dr. Mitchell Solverson is very personable and I felt like he really listened to me and was not pushy for completing procedures. He seemed to value my opinion and took extra time to understand the different needs that I required due to other medical issues. I have been with this dentist for three years. My children feel comfortable and do not dread going to the dentist either. Fantastic dental team. I strongly recommend!

I love this office! My 3-year-old son had an accident at the park and needed his tooth pulled out. I found Rochester Family Dentistry on Google and called. We were not current patients and it was 6:30pm. They said to bring him right in. Everyone was so kind and the care he received was amazing. I was so impressed I decided to make an appointment for myself as our current dentist was very far away.
I have seen both dentists and two different hygienists. I feel listened to and well cared for. I feel that the skills of both the dentists and hygienists are outstanding. I am now bringing all of my children here and highly recommend them.

I recently moved back to Michigan and was on the search for a new Dentist. I was referred to Rochester Family Dentistry and could not be happier. The staff is amazing, friendly, professional and very accommodating. The office is extremely pleasant, using the latest technology. My first visit with Dr. Mitch, I appreciated that he took his time getting to know me, asking questions to understand my needs and concerns.
The exam and cleaning was very pleasant and through. Dr. Mitch came back to review results and offered suggestions and options. What I truly appreciated is that he was not pushing any unnecessary treatment like I experienced with my last dentist. I'm a new patient and am delighted to post this review. Why did I wait so long to switch to this wonderful practice? As part of their new patient evaluation, Dr. Mitch presented me with a personal portfolio and patiently answered all my questions and concerns. The office itself is beautiful, with all sorts of amenities: water, coffee, pleasant waiting area. and a very friendly, helpful staff: Wendy, Janet, hygienists Renee and Jessica, just to name a few of the caring people here. Dr. Mitch and the Rochester Family Dentistry staff make visiting a dentist a very pleasant experience.

My family has been going to see Dr. Don and his staff for 5 years and it's, without question, the best dental experience I've ever had. Everyone at the office is courteous and Dr. Don & Dr. Mitch both have a sense of professionalism and humility that's difficult to find. I just finished a 30-week Invisalign treatment and everything about the process - from the original consultation to each follow-up appointment - was top notch. I'd highly recommend Rochester Family Dentistry for any and all family dental needs.
