I just had a root canal and I experienced zero pain and had no anxiety due to the friendly caring staff. The dentist and his assistant were amazing. I will never worry about a root canal again

Corning Dental Associates have provided my dental care for more than 40 years - a totally positive experience each and every year. Their response to Covid is typical of their professional competence; they implement best practices based on facts, they communicate quickly and personally, and earn the trust of their patients every day. Thank you Dr. Lynn Merriweather, Rachel, Marsha, and all the other staff who have helped me. David Youst

I called your office on May 18th about a possible abscess tooth. The young woman who answered was very short with me, asking "well, how are you sure it's an abscess tooth?". I was not sure, but based off my symptoms (serious pain, swelling of the face above the location of the pain, and fluid build up) I at least had an idea. I called your practice to have someone to look at it and I was very upset that a professional in your office would question me, almost dismissively, when I was in need of help.

Later that day, I was seen by a different dental practice, and it turns out I have a severe infection due to an abscess tooth. I wanted to support a Corning business, but my initial interaction with your office was very off putting.

Nice office and easy to find. Staff were super nice. The reason for my low rating is the service. They advertise that one of there treatments is availability of crowns. When I made my appointment, I informed them what the issue was. A fractured molar. When I got there, 3 x-rays were performed. Then the Dentist informed me that she couldn't do my Crown because they only do simple, straight forward Crowns.

She said she was going to refer me to a specialist. I am a medical professional. I pay my dental bills out of pocket. When the word "specialist" is used that means a lot of $ are about to change hands. Being as I was already out a days pay(I'm self employed and I don't get paid to take time off)., I thought it reasonable to get a second opinion. The next Dentist I saw, a week later said "she said what?, this couldn't be any more straight forward." It is worth noting that Corning Dental Associates is well regarded in that community. So, either I happened on a new hire Dentist there that doesn't know how to read x-rays and recognize a straight forward treatment or, they are fleecing the people who choose them for dental care. I'll let the readers of this review decide.

Great place. Had a root canal done. I used to be very afraid and anxious about dental treatments especially about root canals. I saw Dr. Vargas there and he took care of everything very smoothly. My fear disappeared after visiting Corning Dental Associates. They do a very good job and you hardly feel anything. Would recommend this highly!

I went to Corning Dental up until I moved away after college, and I just became a patient again after nearly a decade. I've moved around a lot in the past 10 years and have been to many different dentists; Corning Dental is BY FAR the best. They really take time to get to know their patients; my hygienist remembered me from 10 years ago! Dr. Vargas probably spent a half hour examining me; at Aspen Dental, I'd literally see the dentist for 2 minutes, and I never had the same dentist twice (BTW, avoid going to Aspen at all costs).

My first visit to Corning Dental was December, 1976. Over the years I've been treated by just about every dentist there with Dr. Bates as my primary professional and more recently Dr. Vargas along with literally dozens of dental assistants as well. I have always been treated professionally and competently and in a friendly manner too. True professionals here at the patient chairs and by the wonderful women in the front office too.

I've actually had very bad work done at Corning Dental. I had a chip on my tooth that they told me they needed to fill. They did a composite filling. They clearly were not good at doing a composite filling -- I later learned that they set or dried the tooth improperly. My tooth felt like it was going to explode I was in so much pain. The improperly done composite needed to be removed and re-filled -- this time with amalgam (metal). The second filling worked, but was MUCH larger than the original filling. The tooth is now permanently sensitive. Good for cleanings, but avoid getting work done here.

I have been going to Corning Dental Associates for years and years. We moved away from the area and returning to Corning years later. I tried other dentists in the area for my kids and myself with each experience being never up to the service, the quality of people and their skills and the professionalism of the staff and office never meeting Corning Dental Associates.

We have had all sorts of treatments in the decades we have gone to this fabulous dentist group.and all have been relatively pain free and proactive. They also are plugged into a great group of oral surgeons, so our double wisdom teeth extractions (2 kids back to back) was easy, affordable and the patients were up in running in no time with no issues or infections. We now live an hour north of Corning and still make th trek to Corning Dental to continue our relationship and receive the best dental care in the area.

Thanks to a couple of painful cavities, I decided to call up Corning Dental and see what they could do for me. They had me come in the next day and were able to quickly fix my teeth. The dental assistant and Dr. Vargas were so nice, patient, and friendly. I've never been to a dentist who has been personable, so this was a refreshing change. The building is clean, inside and out. The receptionists are kind and professional. I'll recommend this place to everyone!
