I feel very lucky I found Dr. Chua. He is a very compassionate and professional dentist. When I came in for my fillings, it was the most painless and easy-going experience I have had with a dentist so far. I liked the equipment he used to get the job done and he checked in with me every step of the way. I also appreciate his conservative approach to dental care and hearing out my concerns.

I walked away feeling at ease and recommended him to my family members. I am typically afraid/nervous to see a dentist but thanks to Dr. Chua, I look forward to my future appointments. Highly recommend!

Dr. Chua is my dentist for a couple of years and So far he was nothing short of exceptional. He has done multiple fillings as well as wisdom tooth extractions for me, and each time he had great manner, worked very fast and explained everything very clearly and patiently. Keep it up!

Dr. Chua is seriously the best! I have many dental issues and a big fear of dentists but Dr. Chua always works with me to create a plan. I have been to over 5 dentists in the greater bay area and Dr. Chua definitely tops them all, can't recommend enough.

Dr. Chua is great - I've gone in to see him twice now, and both times I felt very comfortable, safe, and taken care of. He also let me know what the cost of care would be in advance (which is very rare in my experience) and gave me an opportunity to ask questions. He seems to really care about his patients and want the best for them, so I'm really glad I decided to start seeing Dr. Chua.

Dr. Chua did a great job with treating the infection in my gums and straightening my teeth. The ClearCorrect (like Invisalign) straightened my teeth faster than I expected, in only 8 months! He gives great answers to all the questions I have and really helps me understand how I can keep good care of my teeth. Highly recommended!

I've been going to Dr. Chua for over 5 years now and I have to say he is just the best! I had a horrible childhood dentist and over the past few years Dr. Chua has worked with me, and executed on, a plan to fix all my previous dentists misses. From fillings to crowns to teeth whitening to retainers/teeth aligners there is no one I would trust more. I cannot recommend enough!

My teeth are precious to me (though I should have taken better care of them through life). I've been seeking a dentist who is exceptionally knowledgeable, skilled and trust-worthy. Knowing this, a friend referred me to Dr. Chua. I met with him this week and was impressed by his genuine care and treatment, and by the technology that he used to show a clear picture of my teeth and areas that need attention.

He created a treatment plan and went the extra mile to ensure that I understood and felt comfortable with the plan. I mean, seriously. He is amazing. I called today with some concerns, since getting actual dental treatment in my adult life is new to me, and he invested time to ensure I understood any details I hoped for clarity on and felt comfortable with the plan. His level of skill and care raises the bar!

Dr. Chua is a wonderful dentist and has great bedside manner. He explains the reasons behind dental issues in a way that's easy to understand and helps motivate me to take better dental care. I enjoyed getting dental care with him very much, he's great to talk to.

Went to Dr. Chua for a last minute wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. Chua was responsive and very accommodating. The procedure was done with local anesthesia and went smoothly. I relieved clear instructions on what to expect after and the recovery went smoothly. COVID precautions: masks were being worn by all except when a patient was in the chair. Hand sanitizer is provided and temperature checks are done at the door. I felt safe throughout. All in all, Dr. Chua was friendly and did a great job making me feel comfortable. I plan to go back for check ups and cleaning.

I was happy to hear from Dr. Derrick Chua so quickly after I had left him a message at the dental office regarding my crown that had came off. I was very nervous if I was going to get a call back especially since we are going through this epidemic. I was greeted at the door with a nice warm smile not only with Dr. Chua but his medical assistant. All I have to say is that I had a great experience with Dr. Chua and his staff. I would truly recommend my friends and family.

Dr Chua is skilled and detail oriented. And very encouraging as well. I have been going to him for over 2 years now. He also seems very experienced and knowledgeable. I can see that he does care a lot about the patient and very polite in all the interactions.

I've been seeing Dr. Chua for about half a year now for various teeth-related issues and he has fixed every single one of them so well! Thank you for restoring my confidence and my smile. It means a lot to me.

Dr Derrick is very kind, knowledgeable and informative. I've had many other drill happy dentists who insist I have 3 or 4 cavities each visit that absolutely imperatively must be filled. Derrick instead showed me exactly what each one looked like, and used analogies to explain what it could develop into. But ultimately, left the decision in my hands and made me feel confident about his honesty and integrity.

I have yet to find a dentist in my 2 years living in the Bay Area that I felt confident in, but with how much care and precision Derrick took to explaining everything and hearing about me and my experiences, I finally have faith and confidence in a dentist. I will definitely be going back!

I would NOT recommend Derrick Chua after the sketchiness I've experienced. I paid $390 out of pocket after a dental emergency. I didn't have my insurance card on me, so I was told to send a picture and we would work it out later. It turns out they were out of network. No biggie. Out $390 sucks but it was an emergency and I didn't have my card. Their office THEN filed a claim to my insurance for the $390 service THEN filed a $2000 claim to my insurance. Both of their claims were appropriately DECLINED.

Dr. Derrick Chua is an exceptionally warm and friendly guy who combines an expansive knowledge of dentistry with remarkably dexterous and sensitive care. I've been going to Dr. Derrick for about a year now (in his San Mateo office) and am very impressed with his knowledge, his attentive listening to my concerns, his honest discussion of treatment options and his skill and rapid work with the dental instruments. Water-flossing! Dr. Derrick explained to me that those waterpik devices work better and are easier to do correctly than the old string flossing. It's true! My teeth have never felt better.

Over the course of three weeks Susan Chua and her assistant Lottie cleaned my teeth (free with dental insurance) and gave me three fillings (80% off with insurance).
