Starting from your child's first dental visit, their teeth are in good hands at Children's Dentistry. Our pediatric dentists are experts at preventative dentistry, and helping when problems arise. Parents are partners in the dental health and decision making process. As pediatric dentists, we aim to minimize the exposure of our patients to radiation.
At Children's Dentistry, it is very important to us that we make your child's first visit as positive and enjoyable as possible. Parents can help prepare their little ones from unnecessary stress by not using words such as "needles", "drills", etc. Together we can help reduce any fear your child may have by explaining procedures in positive and nonthreatening ways so everyone has a great experience at the dentist!
When people think of dental emergencies, most think of broken teeth but did you know, a large percentage also involve soft tissue trauma? Mouth trauma can be confusing for parents. Who treats it? Where do we go? As long as there is no signs of head trauma, broken bones or significant systemic trauma your dentist is a good place to start.
Preventing dental issues is the passion of every pediatric dentist and here at Children's Dentistry, we make it our priority to see that every child that walks through our door is prepared and equipped with good oral health habits for a lifetime of healthy smiles. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends visiting the pediatric dentist every 6 months beginning at your child's first birthday. Routine visits will start your child on the path to good dental health which often leads to good overall health.

I was referred here by our pediatrician for our infant daughter's tongue tie. From the first phone call to the end of our appointment, it went fantastically. The front office staff was super helpful in answering my questions and checking with the doctor before getting an apointment set up. They were also able to accommodate our schedule and get us in within day.
The doctor had two very nice technicians help with the procedure and they stayed the entire time. Dr. Whalen was incredibly nice, caring and informative. He was very thorough and I never felt rushed. I have never met a dentist more personable and trustworthy. He explained right off the bat that he didn't do any procedures that he didn't feel was necessary and I loved the honesty.
He could be making a ton of money on tongue clippings, but he provides his services for practiaclly nothing. I was so lucky to have found him and this office. If only all of healthcare had such wonderful people and ethics.

Going to the dentist isn't t something my kids like doing. In spite of my best efforts, they've had negative experiences at other dental offices, plus have sensory integration issues and very strong gag reflexes. We started coming to Childrens Dentistry and Dr Sean and Dr Grace have made our visits consistently positive, non-threatening, and just so wonderful.
I'm a practicing dental hygienist and in all the offices I've worked at, none have been as cohesive, functional, and positive as the staff here. Finding a dental office and team this good isn't very common. We are overjoyed to have found you, Childrens Dentistry, and will drive all the way from Erie until the kids are in their 30s or you kick them out, whichever comes first.

There is a reason this dentistry has almost 500 Five Star reviews. I cannot recommend them enough. My son is 5 and Autistic and has had SPD. We tried for 4 years to get a teeth cleaning done. We were sent away from 7 dentist before going to one that didn't give up on us for almost a year however they never got him to allow them to touch his mouth.
We were looking at having to sedate him every time he needs a cleaning. I had a friend recommend this place and I'm so glad she did. We have been going here for about 6 months and my son just had his first cleaning and was EXCITED about it! I cannot believe it! I highly Highly recommend this pediatric dentistry.

I absolutely love this practice! We went into get our sons tongue tie fixed and Doctor Whalen was wonderful, he was very informative and guided us on the best way to have the procedure done. He definitely cares about his patients. I highly recommend plus the play areas in the waiting room are wonderful, it made me want to be a kid again.

We are so grateful we found the team at Children's Dentistry! Our daughter recently needed a cavity filled, but suffers from extreme dental anxiety. Dr. Sean and his team were so patient with her- they spent a lot of time sitting and talking to her, they made her feel safe and comfortable throughout the procedure. We were absolutely blown away by their standard of care!
