My partner and I have been patients at Tahoe Dentist for several years and have been very happy with Dr. Cassidy, his staff, and the service. However, if you are considering this office for dental care, you should know that Dr. Cassidy sold his practice a while back (I'm not sure when). The new owers or at least the new management are not so great.

The office manager (Janine) is NOT nice, she has no concept of customer relations, and as a result, we will no longer be using Tahoe Dentist. We switched insurance companies back in Jan (2022) and scheduled our annual cleaning a few months after. Once at the office, we gave the staff our new insurance information and specifically asked if the yearly cleaning and X-rays would be covered (as they had been for every cleaning we have had for over 25 years).

We were told YES, of course, it would be covered. A few weeks later, we received a bill for $200+ each for the service. I called and had a conversation about the $400+ bills with Janine and was told in a very matter-of-fact and RUDE way that we needed to pay for the service because "it's not her fault that our insurance would not pay". BTW, Janine is not that great at getting back to you; according to the phone log, I had to call and text over 30 times to have this conversation.

So I called our insurance and was told that "if we had gone to an in-network dentist, the serevice would have been covered 100%, and if Tahoe Dentist and checked, they would have been told that. Realizing what had happened, I called Janine back and offered to compromise and pay 50% of the cost. I did this because while they DID tell us the service would be 100% covered, I should have checked with my insurance myself (lesson learned). Janine got back to me a few days later with a 20% discount.

Not because she or the office staff had done anything wrong, but because "we are good customers". She also wanted me to know how LUCKY we were to be getting that discount because WE were 100% responsible". NOTE TO THE NEW OWNERS OF TAHOE DENTIST: I know the customer is not always right, but we have been good customers spending thousands of $(out of pocket) at this office over the years, not to mention what was billed to our insurance. Janine is (in our opinion) not well suited for customer relations; she is rude, unnecessarily aggressive, and just awful for business. Also, I have not paid the bills yet because they still don't show the 20% discount.

First time visiting here. Had an emergency and they were able to get me in the next day. From the first phone conversation Allejandra to being cared for by Kat, everything was seamless and stress free. I can not reconvene this office enough and look forward to going back!

What a wonderful practice! I'm in Tahoe for a month each year and this time, I had a failed crown. They were able to get me in as an emergency patient (I tried six others nearer to our cabin) who told me they could see me in 2-3 weeks. I can't imaging having to wait 2 weeks with the pain I was feeling. Quick, no nonsense appointment and two referrals for followup. Thank you!

Dr Cassidy and team are amazing. Every visit is a breeze. They also have a great sense of humor and a beautiful view of the harbor. I couldn't recommend them more

My experience with Dr. Cassidy and his staff over the last few decades have been effortless! Appointments are easy to make and the staff is very helpful. The EF, Kat, has made coming to the dentist a very enjoyable experience! And the views aren't bad either. I highly recommend Dr Cassidy and his helpful and knowledgeable staff for yourself and your family.

Dr. Cassidy and his team are incredible! I was visiting from out of town and chipped a tooth, they were able to get me in asap! Kat was very kind and put me at ease with my dental anxiety! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great dentist!

Best dentist I have been to hands down. I've been going to Dr Cassidy for over a decade and recommend everyone to him. The entire office makes you feel welcomed and they are very caring. Dr Cassidy is very gentle and makes you feel calm during difficult procedures. Other dentists previously had pushed for procedures that I didn't think I really needed and I wanted to get a second opinion. Dr Cassidy saved my teeth from major work that was unwarranted or needed and would have just been for profit. Dr. Cassidy is truly a gentleman and cares about you and is not out for profit.

Also I have to mention that the view from the dental chairs out to the Keys Marina is really relaxing to look at. I've often seen bears and coyotes walking around the grass below.

Tahoe Dentist is amazing! I called in with a major tooth ache a few months back, and they were able to get me in the very next day! I ended up having to get 2 teeth pulled due to an infection. Thankfully they quickly found out what was wrong and saved me from having even worse pain! The recovery was quick, and I was even able to get spacers for implants later on, and my insurance covered most of it.

On top of that, Katherine the dental assistant was super helpful and very attentive with my follow up procedure. She really made me feel taken care of throughout the entire process! I highly recommend!

Dr Cassidy and team are great! They are experienced and really care about their patients! If you're looking for a great dentist, Dr Cassidy and team are the place to go. Hygienists and assistants are wonderful!

Katherine does an amazing job! She made me feel comfortable enough to let her in my mouth. She is the only person I will let in my mouth now. I recommend her to everyone I know!

I hate going to the dentist. Dr. Cassidy was very understanding and caring, his staff was wonderful. Katherine did my fillings as well as distracted me enough that I forgot I was in the dental chair! I'm so grateful I found such a wonderful office. Thank you all for the professionalism and Katherine, thank you for the compassion!

Dental hygienist attempted to talk to me entire time(pet peeve of mine when people have there hands in your mouth) and was also very condescending to me on me not coming in more frequently. Was also trying to sell me on other services that were not requested. Overall not a pleasant experience.

So I hate to do this to any business but I need to not be silent. Check your bill! My husband and I moved to Tahoe and both started going to this dental office. For almost two years. And although the cleanings were excellent, the billing was always inaccurate and misleading. We absolutely were taken for a ride and over charged by the friendly woman at the front desk.

After multiple services and multiple mis-charges, we began to push back with questions. Our concerns were brushed under carpet and given the run around by the friendly front desk woman. Finally we had to insist on cost breakdowns and discovered we were indeed overcharged by at minimum $400. The young man in the office made certain we were refunded.

But it left a horrible impression. I have no idea what the friendly woman was trying to gain but it was apparent she was misleading and overcharging us. We moved dentists and have been very happy with our choice.

I have been spending several days in South Lake and broke a tooth, not returning home for several more days, I found this dentist and called them on. Friday at 8:30 AM. They took my info and said they could fit me in at 1:45 pm. Check in was easy, especially in this Covid world, everyone was friendly and helpful and they examined me and determined they may be able to do a repair if I was willing to wait 30 minutes or so.

No problem, they got me in and several of the staff worked on my damaged tooth. I left at 3:45 PM! Professional, courteous, painless. I am grateful to these folks for resolving my unplanned problem! Thank you!

So. we r on vacation and needed a quick emergency fix! Alejandra was so nice and friendly. She literately took us in and fix a broken tooth. Definitely one happy customer all the way from Beaumont California

I have to have my teeth cleaned every 3 months, and there is no better hygienist for my needs than Rhonda. She is gentle(very important), informative and genuinely concerned for her patients. Thank you for your caring and tenderness.

I highly recommend this Dentist office. I had a crown come off from work done while back at different dentist. Katherine booked me to come in within a day. Roberta replaced my crown and provided very professional service. My experience was smooth and unstressful!

My husband and I recently moved into the area and chose Dr. Cassidy and his amazing team just based on his website. Are we ever glad we chose this office. They are friendly, professional, knowledgeable, but also very light and fun. We have been there twice now and never have waited more than a few minutes to be seen. We do not like to have too many x-rays taken and this rice works with us on our decision.

In addition, I am very affected by novacaine and upon hearing this Dr. Cassidy thanked me for telling him and found another way to numb my mouth which worked amazingly well and I felt no pain and had no adverse reaction to the numbing agent or the procedure. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Cassidy and his office. Thank you!

Ronda and Roberta are the best! They get a 10 from me! I came in without an appointment, and I am not a patient. It was Friday at 4:00, so most offices are probably not happy that somebody just walks in for help. I was in pretty bad shape, and they both made me feel so welcomed. They have the Tahoe spirit. I had a very sore infected tooth inside my crown that needed antibiotics immediately.

They took an Xray, and offered to email the images to my Endodontist in the Bay Area. Dr. Cassidy had them prescribe me a heavy dose of Amoxicillin and off I went. When I asked how much, they said, "no charge, we are here to help." My dentist at home was no help. Thank you, Ronda and Roberta for helping me when I was not well. When I got back to my cabin waiting for my prescription, I was not feeling well. After taking antibiotics I am much better. Dr. Cassidy, you are a lucky man becasue you are only as good as the people that work for you!

I have been going to Dr. Cassidy since I was a little girl and now my children come here. I don't trust anyone else to do a through cleaning as much as Rhonda. I know that with her, my children and I will leave with the satisfaction of knowing she did an amazing job and checked throughly. Dr Cassidy is an amazing dentist, he is highly skilled in his craft and I know with him, my teeth will be taken care of both cosmetically and professionally.

I used to get so nervous going to the dentist until I started going to Dr. Cassidy. Everyone in the office is just truly amazing and welcoming! You truly feel so calm once you get into the dentist chair and the staff is so friendly. If you are looking for an outstanding dentist in Tahoe this is 100% the place to come!

I am new to South Lake Tahoe and needed to find a new dentist. I was very pleased with Dr. Cassidy and the office assistants. They spent a lot of time with me explaining everything and their office is in a beautiful location with a great view of the marina. I would highly recommend coming here if you need a dentist.

I may be a little biased because I work here however due to that fact I can review Dr Kevin Cassidy as a wonderful, professional & knowledgeable dentist who does care greatly for his patients. I know so because I work by his dude all day. I am his Registered Dental Assistant and I highly recommend anyone considering dental work to make an appointment by calling and talking to Roberta or Rosie both are wonderful front office staff extremely knowledgeable in their field.

We all care greatly about our patients and continue to improve our skills. I have just moved to Gardnerville Nevada down the hill and I commute up to Dr Kevin Cassidy DDS office with a wonderful View and I could not imagine working anywhere else.

Have been going to Dr Cassidy for as long as I can remember (20+ years), everything is great except DO NOT go there for Invisalign. I didn't know in the beginning but there is a tier offering called Unlimited - which means you're able to continue until you're satisfied. Had I known I was paying for this I probably wouldn't have paid extra, but after a complicated procedure that took more than a few years, I was glad I had it.

I thought I was almost done with one slight correction left when I was told that my treatment had expired. I now have buttons left on my teeth and rude staff that say nothing except they "can't do anything for me". After spending $3k+ and a lifetime of office visits/cleanings/patronage I expect better treatment.

Clean and shiny teeth. That's what it's all about. I actually look forward to my appointment. Shocking!

Dentist is unheard of and a lovely office staff. I had a chipped front tooth and I went through several dentists, over and over and over, who would fix the chip and it would fall off again every six months, as it's a difficult tooth to fix. Dr. Cassidy worked my tooth, and permanently fixed it, I was very appreciative! I was also helped by Victoria who did great work, smoothing out my front tooth. Thank goodness for Dr. Cassidy, his employees, and office staff.

This was my first examination by Dr. Cassidy. He gave me the best exam that I have ever had from a dentist. Very, Very Thorough! He examined everything and took his time. Victoria, his assistant, charted everything that the Dr. found. After his exam was over, Victoria smoothed a couple of ridges in my mouth that have been bothering me for quite a while.

I also had a very thorough cleaning from Lisa, one of the hygienist in the office, and she was very painless. I wish that yelp allowed giving 10 stars because Dr. Cassidy and his staff certainly deserve it. I would highly recommend his office. **********Thank you for being so caring!

Dr Cassidy himself is a good dentist. My problem lies with the rest of the staff. I was told that my insurance would cover all of my daughters expenses which by the way were standard procedures nothing more. She's never had anything wrong with her teeth. Two years later I receive a bill for more than $600. They are not willing to work with me whatsoever.

The mistake was made by the staff and now I am extremely enraged and would never step foot in this office again. She was only seen by Dr Cassidy once and had a cleaning twice with routine services. Our bill is over $600? Mind blowing!

I needed some serious work done and I am scared of dentists so I reluctantly went in because of a friends recommendation. I was honestly blown away by the staff and the doctor. They were all amazing and I would highly recommend these guys to anyone (and I already have). The staff are very friendly and the doctor is very accommodating even with my unique medical needs. I will definitely be back. Bonus: Amazing view of the Keys

"They call me yuck mouth, cuz I don't brush!" Ages of neglecting oral hygiene caught up with me but every member of the professional staff here has invested in my well being as much as I've invested in services rendered here! Cavities, chipped teeth, a crown, NO MORE FROWN! "Fix your teeth, change your life!" My experiences here are priceless but I was charged extremely reasonable prices for the tremendous amount of detail work done.

I waited awhile to write this but there have been NO complications, everything healed greatly, & I AM super grateful to each thoughtful person who had the patience to truly help this nightmare patient! :D Make an appointment today! You will be smiling uncontrollably! #trustworthy

The most positive spin one can put on this office is that it is ethically challenged. My wife was hard sold on the need to replace ten fillings, with dire warnings about toxicity and health issues which would result from failure to take immediate action, at a cost of more than $2,000. This was followed up by a barrage of emails and text messages to set up an appointment asap. Dr. Cassidy did not even present his "diagnosis" in person; the sales job was all handled by his staff.

Upon consulting with two other credible professionals, it became clear that there are no problems and the existing fillings are superior to the proposed "solutions". On previous routine visits, the cost for cleaning was nearly double what typical industry standard charges are, usually followed by more marketing/hard sell for expensive, unnecessary services like teeth whitening.

It is very clear that this office is all about revenue, not about patient care, and one should get a second opinion to confirm any diagnoses or recommendations from this office.
