Dr. Jamie earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington in 1999. She worked as a practicing hygienist for eight years prior to her doctorate, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the Oregon Health & Science University in 1991. She continues her dentistry studies at the L.D. Pankey Institute and Spear Education, two cornerstones of the dental profession, and participates in multiple dental study clubs that focus on clinical, behavioral, and leadership skills.

Services
At Brooks Dental Studio we provide highly-detailed preventive, restorative, and esthetic care using the most up-to-date dental methods and equipment available. We emphasize excellent home care practices and do all we can to support our patients in achieving oral health and wellness. We provide routine oral exams, X-rays, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments, as well as TMJ and appliance therapy.
A South Sound native, Dr. Jamie is deeply invested in Tacoma. Since opening her studio in 2008, she has built relationships around the city by supporting artists and small business owners and helping community members reach their oral health goals. You'll regularly find her out and about walking her three rescue dogs, bell-ringing for the Salvation Army with Rotary 8, or tending to Little Free Libraries around town.
At Brooks Dental Studio, we welcome patients into an airy, clean, and comfortable environment. Our award-winning space features a calming reception area with Mad Hat tea, two operatories with overhead flatscreen televisions, and a gallery with rotating work by the South Sound's most accomplished artists.
We are currently accepting new patients. Below, you will find some information about what to expect at your first visit. Please reach out directly with questions about your care and to schedule your initial appoinment. We prefer to help you fill out all paperwork prior to your first appointment, so when you come into the studio we get to know you and begin creating your personalized care plan.

Brooks Dental Studio is an amazing office. Not only is the care extremely high, but the office in itself is an experience. Dr. Jamie and her staff helped me get over any dental apprehensions. Dr. Jamie is passionate about continuing education, technology, the community, and the environment. The studio hosts local artwork which makes the entire dental experience one of a kind.

I am very particular about the dentists that I choose, and I can honestly say that Dr. Brooks is one of the best. She has an excellent chair side manner, and she takes the time to thoroughly explain all procedures. Her technical skills are incredible, and I would highly recommend her to anyone who has bite issues. During the pandemic, I felt completely comfortable visiting the office because Dr. Brooks and her team have very stringent protocols in place. Dr. Brooks, Carlita, Brenda and Hannah are all great at communicating--even when I broke a crown on a weekend.
And last but not least, the office is very supportive of local artists. Every time I have an appointment, they have a different artist on exhibit--so fun to see new art each time.

Brooks Dental Studio is amazing! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Jamie is very passionate about dentistry and doing what is right for each patient. They make the experience personable and as much fun as you can have at a dental visit. The walls are covered in local art and it is very obvious they support the local community.

I have extreme dentist anxiety. I avoided going to the dentist for 10 years because of it. When one of my wisdom teeth cracked I researched dentists near me that were patient and kind about dentist anxiety and Brooks Dental Studio is what came up. I've been seeing them for about a year now and they are awesome! Jamie is very thorough and gentle and talks me through everything she is doing- it really calms my nerves. I highly recommend them!

Dr. Jamie and her team provide a fantastic dental experience in a beautiful office space. They go above and beyond to explain the different procedures and make sure I am feeling comfortable, both physically and mentally. Over the past year, they have also coordinated closely with my orthodontist to ensure the highest possible caliber of care. I highly recommend Dr. Jamie Brooks!

Doctor Jamie Brooks and her team do an outstanding job. Their approach to overall heath as it definitely affects oral health is wonderful to experience. I feel like more than just another appointment when I'm at Brooks Dental Studio. Doctor Brooks and her team are also super active in the community and powerfully pro-Tacoma. When one of my old fillings broke last year, they fit me in quickly and fixed my issue fast so I wasn't in pain any longer. Jamie always takes time to fully explain whats needed and why. The office is welcoming and comfortable. I love the tea by local company Mad Hat Tea that's offered while you wait.

If you're looking for a dentist in the South Sound area, this is THE place to go. Jamie and her team are the absolute best! The quality of care and attention to patients here is unmatched. Jamie pays personal attention to the health and well-being of every single patient, and you can tell she treats her team well also. You don't feel like you're one of the many other people they need to get in and out of the chair that day -- they actually take time to focus on YOU and your personalized care.
And Jamie isn't just in and out at the end of your hygiene appointment like other places; she typically comes out and greets you before your appointment and is checking in periodically throughout your appointment unless she is in a procedure. She and all the hygienists are very thorough and always remember your particular sensitivities, etc. Once when I had a filling done, I had some pain at the beginning of the procedure so I needed some additional numbing.
The rest of the procedure went fine and Jamie was very careful, always checking in to make sure I wasn't experiencing any more pain. Later that day, Jamie personally called me to check in and see how I was feeling. That is not something you'll get from any other dentist! I truly feel like my dental health is better than ever now, thanks to Jamie and her team. Even if you're someone who hates going to the dentist, you can't not love this place!

Dr. Jamie and her team are incredibly devoted to their patients and community. As a patient, I feel well cared for and comfortable in a beautiful and warm environment. Dr. Jamie keeps very current with best practices, sharing her knowledge and expertise with patients. As an artist, I have had the privilege of exhibiting my work in the office as well as enjoying the work of other local artists during treatment. I have never loved going to the dentist, but Brooks Dental makes the experience darn close to enjoyable.

I have been a patient of Brooks Dental for approximately ten years. When I began with Dr. Jamie, I had to have extensive dental work that involved coordination of care with other specialists. Dr. Jamie and her team navigated the treatment perfectly. I was, and still am, thrilled with the results. Dr. Jamie also takes care of my spouse and our two children, all of whom have had significant dental work that, again, has involved significant time and effort coordinating treatment and appointments with other specialists.
