I am a very patient person, never have I ever felt compelled to write a review. But this is a new low. During my last 4 appointments, I have had to wait for a total of 7 hours. Yes you read that right, a little over 7 hours. I get that sometimes, things happen and appointments get pushed back. But four times? AND a collective 7 hours? There is clearly a problem in how this place is being run.

I went in as a new client. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The dentist however was extremely rude! He did not introduce himself or even acknowledge me. He just instructed me to open up spent two seconds in the room stated good and left. The doctor did not address any of my concerns or issues. I waited 45 minutes for nothing. I will not be back. Definitely not worth it. Strongly not recommended.

My existing dentist no longer accepted my insurance so my insurance company sent me a letter referring me to this office. I called on a Tuesday and got voice mail, I left a message. I did not get a return call by the next day so I followed up with an online submission through their website. No response to either the voice mail or the online submission after several days.

I called again and finally got a person. I expressed I was a new patient, and I emailed all of my dental insurance info so she could check on my insurance coverage, and we set up an appointment for a week and a half later. I received a couple of confirmation texts about my appointment, but wanted to make sure my insurance was in order, so I called 2 days before my appt, again got voice mail, and again my call was not returned.

The day of my appt I am literally in the chair half way through my xrays when an administrator comes into the room to tell me they don't accept my insurance. What was the point of sending all my info ahead of time if no one was going to do anything with it? So if you don't mind an office that doesn't return phone calls, and doesn't do due diligence prior to your arrival, this is the place for you. In retrospect, it's my own fault, no responses to voice mails or emails should have been a red flag.

Went in over a year ago for multiple sessions for fillings, they didn't know how to use the x ray machines properly, and had to redo multiple photos, my last filling sessions also felt extremely rushed (dentist dropped tools multiple times, equipment kept breaking, and left the room right when we are done leaving me no time to ask questions) and now a year later those teeth fillings involved in that rushed last session are now falling out.

To top it off I was set for one more session to finish my fillings but when we get there they say they no longer take our insurance with no warning even tho we already had the appointment set and pretty much told us to leave, so now I can't even return to get the horrible work they did fixed.

Tried to make an appointment as a new patient and spoke to the front desk receptionist who had so much attitude, my wife had to take the phone from me and put her in her place. She didn't understand what I was saying at all and repeatedly kept telling me that I wasn't understanding her when I knew exactly what she was saying. Would give this place 0 stars if I could.

I will start out with DO NOT GO HERE. Not only were they pushing to charge for things I am not sure I needed and before I was told it is (or may not) covered by insurance they just did it and said I owe them $300. I have two insurance carriers so that should never be an issue. I paid them but they NEVER even tried to get money from the insurance company! I even emailed the main office with no response! They want $$$$ and therefore I moved on to a reputable dentist and wanted to warn everyone to think really hard.

By far the worst experience I've had at a dentist office. The place is a factory, they don't care about patients at all. At my first root canal appt I sat in the chair for an hour and a half before they even began. Then when I got to the pharmacy I was told that my prescriptions weren't sent over. After 4 phone calls and 6 hours of waiting while in pain FINALLY my prescription was sent.

I had a perforated sinus from the procedure and despite my multiple phone calls to them NO ONE ever called me back. Now 3 weeks later I find out that they never sent the authorization for the second phase of the procedure to my insurance company. I have now called 3 times to find out what's going on and again NO ONE has called me back. I was promised a phone call back yesterday by the office manager and surprise surprise now more than 24 hours later I still haven't heard from her. I have no appt to get the crown put on and no idea what to do at this point. The level of negligence is astonishing.

Absolutely terrible service. They don't care about you or any of their patients, incredibly rude. My mother had broken her tooth and I came in and told them it was an emergency and they said they can't see her because she cancelled her last appointment. My mother broke her tooth and was bleeding from the mouth profusely, she wasn't there a routine check up. I am very disappointed that this can even be a considered an office of medicine. I wouldn't wish this place on anyone.

The Hicksville Location was AWESOME! The best staff. The young man who did my X-rays was friendly sweet and made me feel at ease. The dental hygiene's who gave me my cleaning was super friendly and wonderful! The front desk team was great too The whole experience was great from start to finish. I highly recommend going here and can't wait to go back!

I always have a great experience during my visits to this location. The receptionist, Dolina, and the assistant manager, Maria, are particularly great with customer service. They were super resourceful during my last visit. They thoroughly explained certain dental procedures and helped me identify affordable services to offset costs. Their new dental assistant, Sherry, is also very nice! I definitely recommend them :

Very very disappointing experience. The staff especially the young boy they have was very rude and disrespectful. In this time of pandemic they behaved very negligent. Also they made me wait for 2hour despite my confirmed appointment without giving me any excuse. And when I asked explanation manager incharge was very rude and disrespectful. I had to walk out without any treatment whatsoever. I wasted my time and money going to that clinic in Hicksville. Truly disgusting.

Had my doubts when I was there a few months ago but there has been a total upgrade and re-staffing of the office. The calming ocean tvs with serene music in the rooms was fantastic. The dental assistant was sweet and understanding of my fears and the dentist had me laughing even while drilling for my crown. I highly recommend them!

Not the best at all. Too much waiting not enough 1-1 care. Elizabeth, the hygienist, was this place's saving grace. We need more caring dentists such as herself!

I visited American Dental Hicksville as I was interested in braces for my daughter. The Assistant manager informed me of the protocol and schedule. Then the manager spent some time with me explaining the expectations and financial obligations.realistically. Truly professional and would recommend as they work to meet every individual's need.

I came in recently for a check up and cleaning and was very pleased with the service I received. My appointment was for 2:00pm and I was seen by 2:05pm, which is great because I'm use to having to wait at least 30 minutes at my old dentist. While there I meet Tracey who cleaned my teeth. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. Overall I had a wonderful experience and can't wait to head back in 6 months.

AVOID COMING HERE! I needed to have some cavities filled. So far I have had 2 done. I set up an appointment to go back a few weeks later. Since the procedure, my mouth has been in the worst pain of my entire life. I called 25 times to be seen earlier and not a single call back. On the day of my appointment, I get a phone call that they need to cancel.

I explain the pain I'm in and I was told I'd be called back later that day for an emergency appointment. It's been 5 days, I have called over 30 times and the emergency line. It is not ok to leave your patient in pain and avoid calling back. It cost me so much money to get just the two fillings done. I will be disputing my charges once a new dentist confirms there was an issue.

And the wait here was 2 hours! Do not ever come bere Update on 7/17/20: Went to an emergency dentist to find out that the awful doctor at American Dental filled a tooth that desperately needed a root canal. He even filled into the root! My new office was kind enough to write a letter so I can be refunded. I guess he wanted to leave since it was the end of the day and wanted a quick fix. He even told me I have no wisdom teeth? Meanwhile I have one growing impacted! I WILL NEVER COME BACK! Don't waste your time, money, or energy.

I used to go to Hicksville American Dental and they are " horrible" also. I decided to give Commack, a try with Covid still on the rise it's hard to get a dentist appointment. After calling for 3-days with no return call. I got through on the 4th day for cleaning, x-ray and to see the doctor. He looks like a 95yr old "Frail" man that is slow as molasses, he ask you if you have any problems but he is looking in your mouth and if he sees a cavity, he will act blind, because it's not a root canal.

He doesn't think filling cavities with the white powder, gives him money like a "root canal" will. Instead, he suggest doing root canals on each part of your mouth, like it's free chewing gum. He is looking in your mouth and he sees a cavity, but will not say a word because it's not a root canal to do. Not to mention with Covid, around the doctor's tray area had particles from prior work around the tray area where you sit, not the cleanest place.

They make sure you sign, a waiver that if you get Covid, you can't sue them like they know it's not a clean place. During my 2.5hr wait, a lady whispered to her husband coming out, they are very expensive, then one customer came with his brother irate that his denture broke in 6-month's, and another customer screaming she was waiting 3-hours.

These are desperate times with doctors and pushing appointments out 2-3 months, but you should shop around before going their. Good Luck People! P.S. If you have to go their ( Bring Clorox Wipes)!

American Dental is one of the best dentist we have been to. They got us in quickly, they were professional and courteous. They saw my 8 and 4 year old with no problems. Dr Vita, Dr Knight, and the entire staff were superb. I will continue to use this dentist as well as refer my friends to them.

Stay away from this place. This is one of the most unprofessional and incompetent dental practices I have ever encountered. I literally jumped out of the chair and left by my third visit due to the lack of competence. I would run a thorough background check on the dentist you are scheduled to see if they are fit to practice before your visit. I myself being a healthcare professional can not believe this place has not been shut down. If you value your health and safety, please stay away from here.

I'm writing this while dumped on hold for over 9 minutes. Insurance sales agent called me because she must have kept my number in her file. I vaguely remember her but she mentioned this business and provided their phone number. I think you're readers should be aware of a place that hire someone so unprofessional that she never spoke with me.

There is a recording about how wonderful they are that keeps repeating itself. Almost 11 minutes have gone by and I'm hanging up now. Since writing this review I found a wonderful dental office. The staff is stellar and Dentist repaired my teeth without PAINLESSLY without anesthesia.

By far the worst place you could go to for dental work. The receptionist is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I waited over 90 minutes and finally told her I had another appointment I had to make. She said that's nice, laughed smirked and that's probably not going to happen. Immediately after she closed to the window laughed again and muttered something to her coworker.

Stay far away from this place. The dentist you find in a back alley would do a better job. Also, appointment was schedule for before 10am and they still managed to have me wait over 90 minutes.

I had an appointment for a 6 month cleaning at the Caton Ave location. I arrived at my appointment 30min prior to. I was called in for X-rays by a female Asian assistant then a male doctor came in reviewed my X-rays & walked me to the front desk to schedule another appointment. Another appointment! Miss I'm here for a cleaning what are you. talking about.

She states that her supervisor didn't want her to inform the patients that the hygienist wasn't going to be in. If I had know prior to coming in today I would've never kept my appointment I would've canceled it. She stayed quiet. I kept on explaining to her that I'm here for a cleaning not a check up. She got up & gave me the office Mgr.

I will start by saying they have changed locations and it is much nicer! Very big and clean. That said, I would not recommend this place to anyone! Extremely unprofessional, incompatant, and disingenuous. I have been lied to by staff. I have been rushed out of my appointment by the dentist himself. They didn't file paperwork with my insurance that they swore the would.

They have repeatedly canceled and rescheduled my appointments. The dentist that I have seen 5 times has no idea who I am. All in all they have really lowered the standard of dental care.

This place is the worst. My appointment was meant to be at 10:30. I got there 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Wasn't attended until 12 for x-rays to be taken. Then had to wait another hour and a half for the actual cleaning. Spent basically my whole day there. They book more patients then what they can handle. Definitely do not recommend.

Don't go to this place, long waiting, they overbook without proper scheduling, 1hr + waiting, will not update you on delays, keep going to reception to check when your turn is.

My dentist retired from that office so they gave me Dr. Sawhney to replace him. Dr. Sawhney said I needed root canal on one of two teeth that cracked and a crown for the second one. I had a bad feeling about his diagnosis so I waited thinking about it, and in the interim my wife made a friend at tennis who turns out to be a dentist. I went to her today; she took x-rays and said I did NOT need any root canal by any stretch of the imagination, just a crown, and the second cracked tooth could be fixed with just a simple filling, not an expensive crown as Sawhney recommended. Dr. Sawhney blatantly lied right to my face. What a stinkin' crook!

This place sucks because they cater to a sh*t ton of people, and all the people coming here have crap insurance or none at all. You're probably better off going to a high end dental practice that will make you pay the price for better treatment. The staff is clearly unhappy and rude as can be. There's a mouth mirror that's cracked and I find it amazing that people who leave reviews mention this mirror. My mom had gotten this same cracked mirror YEARS AGO and it's still floating around the office. Amazing. My family came here once and would never go back.

Don't put me on hold for 15 min. so I give up calling about a problem. The Dr. should read and know the treatment plan we agreed upon before seeing me and wasting my time going over things that have already been decided. Don't make appts. at 4pm if everyone goes home and you can't do the necessary work like x-rays and fillings.

If you have pain, they will most likely call the wrong pharmacy, send the wrong pain meds, not send you enough pain meds for the time you need them, then tell you they don't have a digital system, so you have to wait two weeks while in intense pain. Then after your surgery, they give you something that couldn't relieve pain in a goldfish, and don't even call in your meds to the pharmacy, so after making you wait at the office for an hour and a half (even though you were 15 minutes early for your appt), yanking your tooth, and not sending in the pain meds, you wait on hold for forty minutes just to have a rude receptionist fumble around trying to find paperwork from a person she saw less than two hours ago. If you are in pain, if you don't want to wait weeks, if you need medication, don't go here. Save yourself the pain.

Worst receptionist/medical assistant EVER! They have you on hold for more than 30 minutes. I call just to make an appointment, a simple appointment and they tell me to wait for a few. But this is ALL the damn time. 30-40 minutes on hold?! Like what are you doing on the other end? Picking your nose? Get better receptionist! Because every time I go in person, they're not busy nor doing anything.

When you first walk in it looks like you are not in a dentist's office. The "rooms" have no privacy; in fact there aren't any doors (they have swinging old west saloon style doors) so everything can be heard. I heard a lot of people's medical history from sitting in the waiting room. The staff is mostly Spanish (most of them don't have the best English skills, but they manage.) My experience started when someone called out my middle name three times and no one answered.

After a few minutes I went up to the receptionist and asked if they were calling me. She said is your name Daniel? I said that is my middle name. She said that was you they called. I thought that they has fixed the mistake, but then the dentist continued to call me Daniel (My first name is Mark). He has a heavy Pakistani accent and was very difficult to understand.

I needed a wisdom tooth pulled and he said that he could not do it, that an oral surgeon needed to do it. After telling me that he chatted with me for about 15 minutes about Pakistan. I did not ask about it. I thought he was waiting for something because he kept looking down the hallway. After he finished telling me about Pakistan, he just walked off.

I sat in the room for another 5 minutes not knowing if he was going to come back. I eventually went back to the receptionist and she said I had to make an appointment with Dr. Rock (that is how she spelled it on the card - it is actually spelled different.) The entire experience made me question about getting a tooth pulled from that place. I came back a week later and met "Dr. Rock" still being referred to by my middle name by the staff. Dr.

Rock numbed me up, left the room to work on other patients, and came and pulled my tooth. Thankfully he was great and I didn't feel any pain. The entire place is sketchy. I later learned that they take a lot of medicaid which explained a lot. The only reason they get an extra star (2 stars instead of 1) is because Dr. Rock was very good at what he did, other than that I would advise people to go somewhere else, especially if you are already scared of dentists.
