Skoulas DDS - The SF Cosmetic Dentist

Before coming here I had not been to the dentist in I don’t even know how many years. Dr. Skoulas is so SO sweet and very knowledgeable. Her staff is also so nice and help make each experience there easy and enjoyable. I initially came here for invisalign, but my overall oral hygiene was taken care of and has improved greatly! I always feel comfortable here and would recommend this office to anyone in search of a dentist.

Sometimes she even has her dog in the office, who is SUCH a cutie and loves to be pet and loved on.

I've had a experience here the last couple years, everyone is friendly, I never have wait times, and Dr. Skoulas does a great job.

Dr. Skoulas is the best. She has helped me with a number of different procedures to get the smile I wanted from getting new crowns (twice) to Invisalign. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Skoulas listened to my concerns and expectations and was extremely professional and meticulous. I also appreciated how well Dr. Skoulas communicated the process and what I should expect. I would highly recommend Dr. Skoulas to anyone.

I have been searching around for an amazing dentist location with great hospitality and finally found one. Dr Skoulas is a well trained professional and very nice. Her staff are great and helpful. Office location is beautiful and has great views of the city. I have started my Invisalign treatment by Dr Skoulas whom as a gold star rating. Can't wait to continue my treatment towards a better smile.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Skoulas for over six years. The team in the office are terrific; they are responsive to our inquiries and requests. Dr. Skoulas is always detailed in providing options, describing and planning how to improve our dental health. Recently I received veneers. When I initially considered getting the veneers, I wasn't aware of the process or the quality of the results. Dr. Skoulas was fantastic in educating me on the process.

At no stage did I feel unprepared. The result has been fantastic; my only surprise has been how positive the outcome has been. I have more confidence resulting from a great smile. Exceptionally appreciative of the support and advice from Dr. Skoulas and her team.

I am an HSP and have severe mouth sensitivity, so going to the dentist has never been easy. Dr. Skoulas and her entire team are so kind and pleasant. They make the process much more enjoyable and easy. The facility is beautiful and clean, and the office dog Abbot is the absolute sweetest! Dr. Skoulas also offers great discounts on Invisalign pretty regularly, which is one of the only reasons I was able to afford it.

I haven't been able to tear food with my front teeth due to an open bite that my old ortho worsened, and this is the first time in 10 years that I've been able to eat sandwiches in public without looking like a barbarian. Am still working on the Invisalign, but it's going super well so far. Overall, great experience.

The staff here are quite friendly and are very responsive when it comes to text/calls. Arranging appointments and getting questions answered has been very simple and quick. Dr. Skoulas is extremely professional and knowledgeable and is very personable. The office dog, Abbot, is the cherry on top and is always looking for pets! They work with most insurances and are fairly priced.

I normally hate going to the Dentist. However I felt really at ease with Dr Skoulas and her dog Abbot made the experience actually enjoyable. I felt calm and relaxed as I patted Abbot. He is such a beautiful dog! Dr Skoulas was very professional and thorough with her work. I underwent cleaning and 2 fillings. Everything was completed perfectly and quickly and I was able to go to work after without any issues. So happy I found Dr Skoulas and Abbot!

I went to see Dr. Skoulas do to a broken bottom denture, which happened 9 days before Thanksgiving. I obviously wanted to be able to eat with my family at our Thanksgiving meal, not to mention, we like to have our teeth in tact. She expedited the process for me and got them done for me on the day before Thanksgiving! And did a beautiful job of it. Thank you Dr Skoulas!

Dr. Skoulas listened to my needs and got to know me on a deeper level in order to find exactly what I wanted. It was a perfect match. Dr. Skoulas and her team are true pros! I've been wanting to correct my bite /midline for years. We discussed in invisiline and turned out I was a good candidate. The process was explained step by step. Communication was thorough and transparent. I definitely felt taken care. I've been seeing Dr. Skoulas for over 5 years--I've had everything from fillings to crowns to dental implants--and I have always had a good experience. More recently, Dr. Skoulas helped me with Invisalign treatment. The entire process was easy and seamless. Amazing experience! I had to find a new dentist because I just moved San Francisco, and am I delighted I came across Dr. Skoulas. She had the most elegant office, kind staff, and provides the most professional care. If you are looking for the best and painless experience, this is it! In my first visit, I was immediately seated and the entire procedure was explained very clearly.

In addition, no doctor was able to provide another solution to my bruxism and pain caused by it besides getting a night-guard, but I was finally given another option by Dr. Skoulas. When I got some fillings done, the procedure was painless and extremely efficient. I was in and out in no time. I am very happy with my new dentist and will be taking my entire family. I have been seeing Dr. Skoulas over the last couple months doing an assortment of dental work. It was my first time going to the dentist even for a cleaning in quite some time. I did a teeth cleaning w/ X-rays, teeth whitening, 2 fillings for cavity's and a crown over about 2 months time. This was the most dental work I had done at a time in my life and I was feeling a little anxious about it. Dr. Skoulas and staff and very professional and kind which helped to ease my anxieties.

I have some residual jaw clicking after my procedures due to my mouth being open so wide for so long. Dr Skoulas referred me to a colleague of hers for some advice on how to treat that. She also took the time to adjust my bite after my dental work as done which I appreciated. The location to her office is very convenient w/ a parking garage right next door. DO NOT FALL FOR THE FIVE STAR REVIEWS. I came here to get x-rays and a cleaning and was told I needed 6 fillings. I had no pain in my mouth and this just didn't sound right. I had to take a day off of work to go see my childhood dentist in Sacramento for a second opinion and she respectfully told me I didn't need A SINGLE filling. Not only would this have been a very expensive treatment, Dr Skoulas would have drilled into my teeth for absolutely no reason. DO NOT GO HERE.

I am very pleased with my upper veneers from Dr. Skoulas. I had 10 veneers done and absolutely love the natural results she achieved. She was meticulous and kind throughout the process, as were the rest of her office team. I appreciate her attention to detail and ability to immediately understand what my goals were for my smile. I had a lot of questions and she always took the time to answer them. Definitely recommend Dr. Skoulas and will be continuing my dental care with her practice.

COULD YOU STOP CALL ME? Dr. Skoulas destroyed my front teeth and this experience makes me miserable so I want to erase it from my memory. However she keeps calling me even though I constantly block their number like the other spam calls I receivd. It was a long time ago but some Sunday, she called me said "please write a review on Yelp", so here I am.

Long story short, I REALLY REGRET SEEING THIS DENTIST. Poor skill and all about money. I went to several dentists after my the procedures I had done at Skoulas, and after viewing the X-rays all of them have commented on how poorly it was done. One of the root canals I received from Skoulas was so problematic that eventually the tooth was just destroyed.

Even the cosmetics of the crowns she attached look very poor. Cavities that were filled were not fully shielded and had to re-done by a better dentist. I don't like my smile because all my front teeth was poorly operated on by Skoulas. I definitely not interested in going back there at any appointments. So please don't call me anymore.

She is absolutely amazing. I was so scared to get veneers and Dr. Skoulas was so patient with me the whole way through. The process was so simple and she would check up on me every step of the way. I am so incredibly happy with the final outcome. I love me new smile. If you're like me and you're hesitating, please don't, please just do it. You'll be so happy with your results! I'm posting pictures that were taken immediately after placement. A new smile is 1000% worth it all

I have just completed extensive prosthodontic work under Dr. Skoulas's care, and I am very happy with the results. The attached photos show what an amazing improvement Dr. Skoulas was able to implement on my behalf. The process was long - multiple appointments over three months - but everything was well organized and prescheduled so I could plan around them.

I have no doubts about Dr. Skoulas's expertise, which is evident in the final results. In some ways just as important as her skill set is the calm, focused, detailed approach she has that inspires confidence and optimism when going through an uncomfortable process. She and her staff always made me feel welcome and valued, and I appreciated how careful the office staff has been in ensuring a very healthy environment for their patients during this era of COVID.

I think it is also worth noting that while the total estimated cost of the extensive crown and veneer work I had done was high, Dr. Skoulas accepted the substantially reduced amounts established by Delta Dental, my insurance carrier. This saved me a lot of money. I would not even have known to ask for the discount, so I am grateful that her office administrator brought this to my attention. I will continue to use Dr. Skoulas for all my regular dental and ongoing prosthodontist needs.

I am so delighted with the results of my restorations! Yay! Dr Skoulas did my whole smile, 20 veneers and 1 crown. My family is so excited and happy for me because they can tell by my appearance that the work is excellent! My whole mouth is moving and grooving because all the restorations are a perfect fit and i love the look! The office is decorated and charming to look at.

The Dr Skoulas and the staff are always wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable! There are 2 parking garages that are only 5 minutes away. If you are considering restorations, or even if you just need a regular dentist, give Dr Skoulas's office a call! You will be lucky if you call and schedule a consultation because the dental work she does is awesome! She was highly recommended to me by my last dentist and I am so grateful and pleased! Yay!

Dr. Skoulas has been my go-to dentist since moving back to the city. Most recently, I worked with her to get veneers to correct a gap in my front teeth and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. This is a procedure that I had been wanting to do for a while, but was waiting to find a provider I could trust and who understood my treatment goals.

During the initial consult, Dr. Skoulas was generous with her time, answering my questions about the treatment process and addressing any concerns I had about long-term follow-up care. When it came time to initiate the dental work, I felt extremely at ease knowing my questions had been fully addressed and I knew what to expect during each visit. Not only is Dr. Skoulas a fantastic dentist, but her staff is also very professional and knowledgeable, too.

From the moment I entered the office I felt welcomed. I also enjoyed the ambient music while in the dental chair, which allowed me to focus on something other than the typical dentist office sounds. I have enjoyed my experience with Dr. Skoulas so much that I have recommended her to many friends in the city seeking dental care. In the past, I have been very non-compliant with regular dental check-ups because I have never particularly enjoyed my experience with other dentists.

Thanks to Dr. Skoulas' excellent care, I already have my next 6-month follow-up visit scheduled! If you are seeking a new dental provider, look no further than Dr. Skoulas.

Another victim of the 5 star reviews unfortunately, I was a fool for not heeding the ample warnings of others outlined so clearly here. High level summary is I came in for a routine filing and ended up spending 12 sessions and over $5,000+ out of pocket. Other dentists have indicated that she may have purposefully dug too deep and prepared the tooth wrong multiple times to extract more dollars (hard to prove).

Either way, I hope other don't fall into the same trap I did. Note that many of the 5-star reviewers seem to only have 1-2 reviews on their account. In addition, the practice is notorious for incentivizing great reviews and refusing to refund you unless you sign an NDA. I went to Dr. Skoulas for a routine cleaning and subsequent filling that ultimately resulted in 12 more appointments: 1) emergency root canal because she "dug too deep", 2) new crown, 3) a re-do of that new crown since it was done improperly, 4) improper impression, 5) the re-do causing a need for crown lengthening because she "dug too deep" and 6) a ultimate recommendation for tooth extraction and implant.

This leads me to over $5,000+ in out-of-pocket costs for one tooth that other dentists who've looked at the original x-rays said just needed a routine filling. This is perhaps the reason why the practice has moved from a nice, storefront location into an older office on top of an office building -- the business is struggling and as a result is finding ways to extract more dollars from consumers.

She offered to refund me the cost of the original crown for $600 if I signed an NDA (in exchange for my silence). I signed it and asked her for a refund, but because I filed a grievance to my insurance to cover the additional costs, which investigated her practice, she refused to honor her agreement because it "wasted her time." See the photo proof below. Dental malpractice is very hard to prove and get reimbursed for -- but either way this does not paint a picture of an "amazing, friendly, BEST dentist, caring" doctor that the Yelp reviews here suggest.

That dentist would not be refusing to honor her own agreement for a mere six hundred dollars after a patient has suffered over 12 appointments, pain, and thousands of dollars under her care.

Nothing but pleased with the year I've spent as a patient of Antigone Skoulas and @skoulasdds. Quick appointments, awesome care, friendly staff. And the new location in Pflueger's famous "neo-Mayan" building at 450 Sutter is a trip. Amazing view across SF as your teeth get cleaned and polished. And airy lobby and fridge stocked with bevvies is a nice touch. I've already recommended another friend here.

I found Dr. Skoulas' care to be on point. I also appreciate the flexibility of having a good dentist near my office in the city. And when I recently forgot my appointment and called to say I was running 25 mins late, they were willing and able to accommodate me! Thanks!
