Dr. Primm is a periodontist, a specialist that treats diseases of the supporting structures of teeth including the gums and jawbone. In the comfort of our friendly office you can receive dental implant treatment to replace single, multiple or all your teeth; as well as to stabilize or replace implant dentures.We can treat receding gums with fast, very minimally invasive techniques, and we can remove excess gum tissue with gentle laser gum recontouring for patients who have a gummy smile or an uneven gum line.
Shannon handles Dr. Primm's procedure schedule and communicates with our referring doctors to ensure quality care. She is committed to helping each patient understand their treatment and guiding them through each step along the way. Shannon was born and raised in southwest Florida and moved to the Nashville area in 2020.
Board-certified periodontist, Dr. Jason T. Primm, graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 2006. He went on to complete a rigorous three-year surgical residency program at the UTHSC, where he earned his master's of dental science in periodontology from the University of Tennessee.

I want to thank Dr. Primm and the staff at Advanced Institute for Oral Health in making my visit with them a wonderful experience. I was a bit apprehensive when I arrived for my appointment, but was immediately put at ease by the very professional and caring way I was treated. My 14 year old daughter had a consultation with Dr. Primm yesterday about bone loss and root resorption due to bringing in her impacted cuspids. My daughter was very nervous about the possibility of needing yet another surgery, as she already had an expose and bond for impacted cuspids, as well as, her wisdom teeth extracted. She was also concerned about the health of her teeth long term. Dr. Primm was thorough, informative, and honest.
But my biggest compliment to him is that he takes a conservative approach. I have worked in the dental field as an RDA for over 10 years and it is not often that you come across doctors who are conservative about treatment. He explained to us why he did not believe surgery was necessary or the right move at this time, and gave us ways to prevent further bone loss with home care recommendations. I was so impressed with his knowledge, the time he took to explain everything to us, and his conservative approach. I highly recommend Dr. Primm and his practice.

Under an emergency abcess tooth situation, they were able to work me in same-day. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and the office environment was very comfortable. Dr Primm's assistant was very attentive and asked a lot of questions, and Dr Primm showed a lot of care and concern about my situation and condition, and was optimistic about my outlook, provided a valuable second opinion, and referred me to more appropriate provider's care. I would highly recommend their professionalism and services.

I was very nervous getting my teeth cleaned for the first time in years and knew I needed to start doing better. All of the staff were so welcoming and put me at ease immediately. Carrie took great care of me and made me feel hopeful that I could fix my oral health and helped teach me how to do so. After a couple of cleanings there and putting in some work at home with my oral hygiene, we have already seen positive improvements! So glad I found Dr Primm's office and will never go anywhere else.

Dr. Primm and the staff were absolutely wonderful! Everyone was so welcoming from the moment I walked in the door. The ambiance was soothing and I couldn't get over how comfortable the dental chair was! I appreciated that they communicated with me during the entire visit and explained things for understanding.
