They have been amazing over the years we have gone here. Today they called me to let me know that Dr. Knopf made the decision to cover the cost of my boy's sealants on their remaining teeth because they hadn't asked me ahead about it if it wasn't covered by insurance. Typically those teeth are covered, but our insurance plan didn't cover them. Instead of getting a surprise bill in the mail, they just covered the cost for us!

I've had many crowns and my boys have had a couple cavities over our years there and they always do exception work. They have always treated us like family here. You will love them too.

I am apprehensive of dental care, especially anyone my kids see, and I was referred to this place. John the receptionist, is very thorough, always prepared and even dealing with a TypeA mom like myself has had amazing patience. I saw negative reviews on him and I just don't believe it and I don't listen to reviews where they don't show a pic or review places often - its more like a tantrum.

I also love the hygienist, Tanya, as dealing with me is not always easy because I am high stress, but she made my visit very pleasant and comfortable. The doctor also seems to care quite a bit about personal care and I feel very at ease here. My only suggestion is that they are a little harder on the kids, I have five sons and my other dentist (out of state) used to help me by putting pressure on the kids to brush more (tell them their teeth will fall out)!.lol.ultimately its my job, but I do love the back up.

- Following an initial consult, the front office repeatedly stated that they would contact me with updates on a treatment plan, but failed to follow up or return calls over a three week period - During a call I placed following the exam, the front office failed to note or inform the Dr. of my complaint that a tooth was infected - Following my communication that I would seek a treatment plan from another provider, the front office informed me that they could release study models. Once I had taken time off work to collect them and was half way to the office, they called to inform me that they would not be able to do so after all

This dentist was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad it was. The staff here is always professional, nice and approachable. I always had the same hygienist each time I visited which made the experience comfortable. They always go above and beyond when it comes to service. There was once a wreck on 405 and Dr. Knopf was caught in traffic. John gave me a Starbucks gift card and sent me on my way with a rescheduled appointment.

They referred me to a great oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth out and I had a great experience here overall. Good dentists are hard to find and I was appreciative to have one while I lived in Bellevue.

It's been years. But I remember John, receptionist extraordinaire, and Dr. Knopf, dentist par excellence.fondly. I will seek you out next time I'm in the area because my teeth and face miss you. I had regular appointments, and minor emergencies (cracked tooth, crown replacement, a cavity here and there). The hygienists were also great - one went so far as to recommend a minor tool that I still use weekly.

Above what you'd expect at a dentist's office. Put shades on the patient when cleaning so no mystery bits ended up in eye areas. Does everyone do that? No one I've visited in VA does. "You've got glasses." "I don't like mouth debris on my lenses." "I had a dentist that had these shade things to put over them.is that so unusual?" Abella Dental, perhaps you've spoiled me. VA DENTISTS OF THE RICHMOND AREA: I have searched far and wide and have settled on a place that is sub par, at best.

Why is it so hard to do the right things like shield eyes, not push un-necessary things, have offices that know how to change insurance info, bill correctly more than once, and not run in and out as quick as you can to move on to the next patient. I'm not saying sit and chat, but damn. More than 30 seconds is not too much to ask. It might be time to change dentists again.

Anyone in the Richmond area have any recommendations? Also, John & Dr. Knopf.no doubt you have a zillion other things going on and don't remember me, but on the off chance you do - it took time and everything worked out. (Except for the problematic local dentist thing.)

The receptionist John was horrible! I called to have a crown looked that the doctor put on 5 years ago that had recently broke. The receptionist was soooo soooo rude and informed me I was no longer a patient and would have to pay out of pocket to repair the crown! When I persisted to keep my appointment and see the dentist he ended up canceling my appointment hanging up on me and not allowing me to see the dentist! Please don't bother with this dentists unless they can get a receptionist with manners! I don't think I have been hung up on since grade school.

I don't recommend this place, as they charged 50$ when we missed our appointment. And when we moved to another area they were not very understanding - the guy who calls sounded very angry that we were considering changing dentists. The people doing the dentistry are nice.

Best dental care I ever received. Had 2 cavities and 1 crown done on the same day for about 2 hours. Amazing work!

Visited abella Dental for a basic cleaning and exam. Found the staff to be kind, professional and hard working. The hygienist did a good job explaining what was being done and had my teeth shiny clean at the end. The dentist was personable, friendly and went over my oral health needs. There was no high pressure sales, no fear factor (to buy). All of the staff demonstrated a generally caring and client focus environment. Thanks Abella!

I didn't like, well whoevers calls you before the appointment, he was rude. I think that was probably the first time I felt a service person that rude. The doctor and the nurses were actually nice, their service seems comprehensive to me. Well, they provide free parking but I didn't know and parked somewhere else which was expensive and caused me late for the appointment, so they cancelled cleaning for me but performed an exam. I was a little disappointed. I'm ready to try another dentist next time.

The dental office is very professional and kind. I have finally found a doctor that I can trust and hygienists that don't cause pain while cleaning. John, the office manager is very organized, sending emails to remind you of your appointment and including the length of appointment time and cost. He is also available to respond to emails for urgent matters. I now know why their office was recommended to me by 3 people :

Dr. Knopf and his team are stellar. The best dental care I have ever received. They don't try to sell you a package of unneeded services but rather are very straightforward about your dental health and focus on preventative actions. I highly recommend this practice.

First of all, like many, I absolutely hate going to the dentist! Unfortunately, I accidentally chipped my tooth and needed to get in somewhere ASAP. I called around and Abella was the most helpful and most convenient so I made an appointment. The staff was incredible and made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in. The dentist's assistant was Jamie who totally made the experience so positive!

I felt so lucky to have her ease my nervousness! Dr. Knopf came in and his sense of humor and personality continued help me feel less anxious. The procedure was painless and I left completely satisfied with the work. I highly recommend this place (never thought I'd be recommending a dentist), especially to those that have dentist-phobia like me. The facility is super clean and the staff and dentist are great people!

I had a really positive experience with Dr. Knopf. I have severe anxiety when it comes to the dentist, and I hadn't been in over a year. I came to Dr. Knopf for the first time and just did a basic consultation and x rays. They were kind enough to hold off on my cleaning because I had to be at the airport unexpectedly. He prepared me for my next visit and made some recommendations to ease my anxiety.

When I came back a week later, they were just as friendly, and talked me through the replacement of THREE fillings that had fallen out (because of another dentist's shotty work, no doubt), and a cleaning. The office is clean, bright, and I was really impressed. Everyone was super friendly, and I can honestly say it was the best dentist visit I've ever had in my life. Only regret is that I didn't find Dr. Knopf sooner.

Let me start by saying I would rather see my OBGYN than go to the dentist. (A typical cleaning for me has included crying, sedation and some handholding.) So when I say I absolutely LOVE this place, you really should believe me. It's not like I'm making gratuitous visits or anything but the staff here have made it bearable for me to visit more than once every 5 years which used to be my dental track record.

This office doesn't have gimmicky stuff like tv monitors with free movies or headsets with music while you're in the chair. Instead, they offer extremely competent staff who provide a very high quality of care and no-pressure service. I recommend Dr. Knopf's office without hesitation.

I came to Abella Dental after 20 years of neglect caused my an absolute terror of the dentist. I was brought to the dentist with horrid teeth after that many years by my partner, who was helping me face my fears. The first few appointments were a bit hairy for me, but only beause of my fears. I quickly began to relax as I found that the Dr. and staff were caring and gentle and were focused on making me feel and look better. 5 years later, I still come to these folks every 3 months for a cleaning and for any work I need done, even though I have moved work places and they are no longer convenient.

I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to smile again. My experience here changed my life and instilled me with hitherto lost confidence and self-esteem. I can't recommend these folks enough.

I have been going to abella dental for over 3 years now and I love it! The staff is wonderful (John the office mngr and my hygienist Kali are great) and Dr Knopf is nice. They always make me feel welcome, and I don't dread the dentist anymore (even find myself looking forward to it)! Wonderful atmosphere, great people, and parking is easy! Unless I move out of the area, I don't see a change in my future!

Beautiful office, friendly people but less than honest business practices. I went in for a routine cleaning and was told that I had 6 fillings that had failed and needed to be replaced. My husband went in and was told that he needed 8 fillings and a crown. We both felt that twinge of doubt and saw a different dentist who confirmed our suspicions. I needed 1 filling and my husband needed 2. No need for a crown. Don't fall for the nice facade! Just think. They have to pay for it somehow.

If I could give Abella Dental no stars, I would. Like my fellow Yelper Tim C, I believe that this office has a superb facade but is lacking in any professional substance. If you miss your appointment for any reason, including being sick (as in my case), you are forced to pay 1/2 of the expected visit's cost without insurance support! If you try and protest, they threaten to send your bill to collection (pings your credit). Why go here when your insurance will pay for you to go almost anywhere else?

This is a nice office, in that very fake, out-to-charge-you-through-nose way so often found an the suburbs. Once you break through the smiling, white veneer (which they also try to tell you that you need), it is absolutely the smarmiest, unprofessional and high-pressure dental office I have ever been to. If this is the kind of service you like, please waste your money here. If not, go else where.

Extremely nice and caring staff along with a clean and modern office at a convenient location in downtown Bellevue. The Dr. is great and doesn't pressure you to feel like you need to get thousand's of dollars of dental work done to have that million dollar smile. I had the opposite experience at an LA dental office, whereas here I left feeling my teeth and smile were fine just the way they were.

I also have a slight phobia of dental offices (can you say 2 root canals!?) but the dental assistant took great care in making me feel comfortable while she cleaned my teeth. I'll be back in 6 months for another cleaning!
